Couldn't this have been 3 Mana without being broken? Alternatively, they could have given him Spell Damage +1 as well (but maybe that's against the Rager Rules)

I don't think that it needs to be said that a rager is bad. The divine shield mitigates its rager-ness, but a minion with no relevant abilities at 4 mana is just not good.

I knew we would see this card someday. It's beautiful. 5 stars! Amazing.

You're supposed to instantly concede when your opponent plays this. 5 stars all round.
Jokes aside, this is decent in paladin for that elusive secret paladin deck. Reminds me of Dalaran Crusader, and maybe that 1 mana difference can really make it shine.

With divine shield this can be buffed easily in those PP (paladin-priest) class, i'm not gonna shock to see this will be change in the next balance patch.
The 2nd best rager. (only behind Faceless Rager) Also this is the first rager we got since Rise of Shadows! So that's neat. I feel like this should have been fine at 3 mana, but i guess you can't ask for too many good things i guess.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

The best rager sofar! Would have been playable 3 years ago, and could be playable in arena.

All kidding aside, this isn't a great card. If [Hearthstone Card (Scarlett Crusader) Not Found] doesn't see play, this won't either.
Literally Cursed Disciple, only worse in the only deck disciple ever worked - Jungle Giants druid.

Another Rager that will see no play?
Maybe Paladin can make use of this in a divine shield and/or Salhet's Pride deck, but I doubt it will be any good.
5/1 is BAD for stats, giving it divine shield makes it ... less bad, but still bad.
There's not a lot of elemental synergy in standard to justify playing it for it's tribal tag.I guess Mage could technically use it as a way to activate Elemental Allies and Animated Avalanche, but that's it.
In Wild Shaman are able to generate it off of their earthen might or even use it with elemental reaction to draw a card, or Kalimos or any of the Un'Goro elementals that wanted you to play elementals on curve to activate their effects.
In standard Paladin could probably find the most use out of this minion, Salhet's Pride could draw this minion, play it on turn 4, and if it somehow survived equip the blessing of authority or Blessing of Pharaoh's on it to make it a massive threat for your opponent.
But most likely this minion will not see play in Standard.
It's okay in the Arena, the divine shield allows for it to trade into two minions, and it's attack means it can trade up if you go first.
It’s just too strong, it has 5 attack on turn 4 and doesn’t even die when you ping it

Meme card. Could be +spell damage and maybe, maaaaaaaybe, the first remotely playable Rager. But it was not in the cards (ha!).
One step closer to the 30 Rager card deck. At some point we need a legendary Rager!
I could see this played in a priest or paladin deck. Priest especially since they have more health buffs for minions.

You know, this one could actualy see some potential. Not only does Divine shield make it stickier, but it could be buffed with cards like Rallying Blade.

This is actually not bad in Arena - Cursed Disciple found play there and this is very similar. Always love to see a new Rager.

Kinda makes up for the Rager's biggest weakness, so it's at least somewhat playable.
