Bastion:
OLD TEXT: Give an ally Spellshield this round.
NEW TEXT: Grant an ally +1+1 and Spellshield.
Extra +1/+1 and the effect DOES NOT ends by the end of the turn at burst speed?????
There is no way now to trade into bastion using the same amount of resources. This buff is WAY over the top.
Anything that can abuse Bastion will become a tier 1 deck (Heimerdinger, Taric, Lee Sin).
Bastion needs to be changed to Fast or Slow speed.

Radiant Guardian
POWER: 5 → 4
I don't get this either. The difference between 5->4 attack on curve 5 is HUGE. Its much bigger then they are expecting.
Not only that but there will be times it won't be possible to activate her effect. A vanilla 4/5 that costs 5 mana is terrible.

Petty Officer -> Defense:→ 1
Guess i got this one right in the other topic.

Lee Sin -> no changes. Yes, NO CHANGES.

They are trying to reduce the power swing. A lot of times, RG comes out with the effect and if you can't remove it immediately then the game is just over. Not only is she durable enough to survive a hit from most units letting her give 10+ nexus HP, but she also discourages attacking with smaller units as they'll allow her to get even more hits in. Reducing by 1 attack will go a long way in throttling her potential to just carry games. Compare this card -- which is almost 3x of every Demacia deck on ladder right now -- with Soulgorger, who is +1 mana for -2/+2 stats and hasn't seen play since Rising Tides released.

Regarding you comment "there will be times it won't be possible to activate her effect": you always activate her effect. The only time you see a naked RG is when Remembrance low-rolls.

Bilgewater Noxious regardless if it's pirate burn aggro or Swain TF remains top tier.

Will they still pull in the insane winrate they have now possible not but they will still be great.

Or people will just run fearsome burn aggro instead with shadow/noxious

It wins just as often topping out around 59 - 60 percent

So sadly this patch doesn't really change anything

The Petty Officer nerf will tone down aggro a fair bit also you can expect midrange strategies around Lee Sin and Taric become more common and kick (pun intended) aggro out of top tier. Will it still play a role ? Proably but it won't be S tier anymore for sure

These kinds of changes happen at least 1-2 weeks ahead of the actual patch. So, when they planned the changes for this patch, they had only just buffed Lee Sin. At the time, Bastion was seeing no play. Even now, with Lee Sin proving so powerful, many of the decks still don't use Bastion. It has definitely been under-used until now.

However, this change is WAAAAY over the top. Now, the best Lee Sin deck is for SURE one with Targon. Maybe even including Taric to double up on the Bastion effect. Brace yourselves guys - you're gonna lose to Lee Sin a lot over the next two weeks. Or else you're gonna learn how to play him.

But mirror matches of Lee Sin ... those will be brutal.

Swim has Swain TF, and Pirate burn aggro as still top tier after the patch

because logically changing one stat on one card isn't enough to kill these decks

but sure they will be a tiny bit worse

Fair enough. Still think it could be adress in a better way, like keeping the Lifesteal keyword when it fails even if that means lowering the attack further to 3.

The nerf to Cosmic Inspiration was not surprising at all.  I always felt like the mana refund made the card an auto-pick.  If you had 3 spell mana banked up before using it, then it was not a tempo loss at all. It always felt way overtuned even as a "powerful celestial card" because of it.  Now that it doesn't refund spell mana, it's going to be a much bigger tempo loss to anyone playing it.  Still a great card, but should only see play when a Targon deck has stabilized, instead of using it whenever they feel like it to close out a game without any consideration to board state.

Bastion on paper makes sense to make it proactive (considering they wanted it to synergize with Taric) but it's 3 mana cost may be problematic.  I forsee them increasing the cost to 4.  My reasoning behind this simple:  Bastion acts like a deny, but because it's a spellshield can be done proactively.  There's no reason it should be 3 mana when it acts nearly as effectively as Ionia's Deny spell barring a few edge cases.

I'm looking forward to Grandfather Rumuul (sp?) though.  I think he was a decent enough card, especially in expeditions. So I'm excited to see if he'll make his way into any top tier decks.
