News comes in this afternoon from Hearthstone's Chadd "Celestalon" Nervig on how Hearthstone's Paladin Hero, Lady Liadrin, will be obtained in Shadowlands.
- Lady Liadrin will be unlocked by getting to level 20 in Hearthstone's MMO (World of Warcraft).
World of Warcraft Shadowlands, which was recently delayed, still has its pre-patch coming up next week on October 13. As a part of the expansion pre-patch, the entire game is undergoing a numbers squish which will reduce players who are level 120 down to level 50. When Shadowlands hits later this year, players will be able to then level from 50 to the new cap of 60 (which interestingly matches that max level of Classic).
With the level requirement being the same but the equivalent level of a 20 in the pre-patch being 45-47 in the current game, one may think that this would require a much greater time investment required to obtain Lady Liadrin. This thankfully is not the case due to Blizzard reducing the amount of leveling one needs to do to get to max level with the squish. The new system requires players to complete one expansion's worth of content to get from level 1 to 50, which is around the same amount of time it would take to level from 50 to 60 in Shadowlands.
Spend a couple of hours to get Lady Liadrin, which is about the same amount of time it takes now to get to 20 now. Not bad, Blizzard! World of Warcraft's free trial will remain at a 20 cap, so you still won't need to pay anything to get your new Paladin hero, which means if you haven't unlocked Lady Liadrin yet, wait until the pre-patch hits to experience the new version of the game.

Good, I worked to get her. There is fai to players who actually put their time and effort instead giving it to everyone as: ‘redeem for free’.
I remember having to level a character to 20 in WoW to get her, it was excruciating! Such a boring game.
Same. I have never played WoW until I needed to get Liadrin. And I dropped the game once I got her.
I remember playing my account for a bit and getting bored again. When I logged back onto Hearthstone, I had her. I had no idea why
I am probably one of the few persons here on the forum who never played WoW (not even for a short time). I briefly considered starting a trial to obtain her but I guess it is ultimately not worth it for me. Though it is a great hero skin.
Getting to level 20 is really quick. And it's a fun game. too fun.
It's a low time investment for a hero that can be used every time you play so it's definitely worth it!
Leveling in WoW is quite easy too, so there's that going for it :D
