Insane in arena, but in constructed it is weird

Strange combination of abilities: Why would having a giant scorpion help you find spells?

The battlecry may make it more viable in constructed formats.  However the cost with the ability will keep this mostly an Arena card. 

This isn't a joke, right? I mean, the art of the card is the card in golden.

It doesn't seem terrible. Discovering a spell can be very useful, and the body can be awkward for your opponent to deal with. I just don't think this is something you would put in your deck over something a bit more consistent.

The flavor for some of the cards for this expansion is WEIRD. What do Scorpids have to do with spells? Why does an Undead rocker cost more mana and have more stats than Alextrasza? What do cannons have to do with turning soldiers into secrets? It isn't that big of a deal, but historically they have generally been better about this. 

Stats are really bad for constructed, even having poisonous, it could see play in the first expansion though since there may be not much to go around, I'm thinking mostly a midrange hunter.

Strange card. I wonder if it's just an example or unused idea. As far as I can see, it's an image on a Rewards Track that is probably just a mock-up. The stats and effect are fine, but the theme makes no sense. 

Great card for a beast hunter deck and it's poisonous so the enemy has to clear it .

Looks like a great Arena card.

I could also see it in constructed for Hunters or Druids if we get a convenient way to give beasts rush (in addition to Broomstick)

Just put some random abilities on a random body and give it a random name that vaguely fits the theme of the expansion. *dusthands*

It's a Vulpera Scoundrel with a slightly worse effect, but a very good keyword in return. Vulpera Scoundrel saw quite a bit of play so this will too.

I really hope this isn't the art. If it is, I sure am glad I am probably just going to stick with secret mage. The card has pretty low stats for a three-drop and it doesn't cheat out the spell but it does discover one so maybe it will see play.

Good card for Arena but I doubt it will make the cut in Ranked outside Beast Hunter/Druid (if these will be a thing)

Maybe Hunter wants this. A little generation, maybe like a Broom rush/remove (combo draw with the bearded gnome guy). Annoying to have dropped against you, and that kind of thing van be good. 

Won't see play. Discovering a spell is good and all but there are better discover card.

Discovering a spell is nice, but like most poisonous minions, I don't  see this getting a lot of play in standard.  

Very strong arena card, BUT it might see experimentation in standard. After all, this is Vulpera Scoundrels replacement. It might see some kind of play in value/spell Hunter at the very least. Venomous Scorpid will be quite underrated at first, but i'm certain it will see a bunch of play!

The burrow, and if you burrow deep enough, you can find interesting things.

They are shuffling keywords to make new cards. It seems so random.

In Arena, cool, otherwise not so much.

I think this compares pretty favorably with Vulpera Scoundrel, which did see play. Poisonous is a huge boon since it lets the card make favorable trades and can make it awkward for your opponent to play anything. Also, potential infinite combo with Dire Frenzy :D

card generation is valuable. if you match up with a class with poor spell removal it can even kill another creature too. it is very valuable for arena

I always love cards like these. Common, discovers, and will trade into anything without divine shield.

If this card never sees play it'll be through no fault of itself. Its just a utility card for so many situations.

While a bit odd, I like this one. It has some good abilities and the poison makes it able to trade well. I will likely play around with this one a bit to find a good fit.

Yeah: it was leaked in the Rewards Track article (level 4 reward), but it's yet to be officially revealed.

This is the best we could humanly do for now - when we'll be able to get our hands on a better art, we'll make sure to upload it.

Just like someone else mentioned in the comments, it's pretty much a Vulpera Scoundrel that loses the Mystery Choice in favor of Poisonous and the Beast tag.

I would call this a good but situational card (definitely not a pack filler), but the fact that Hunter is receiving massive Beast support and some sort of convoluted card draw makes me wonder if we're in front of a possible sleeper... ehh, maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Poison is a pretty bad keyword, in almost every scenario. 2/5

Meh card

I would say this is better than Vulpera Scoundrel as it can deal with something afterwards unlike Vulpera.

For some reason, I like this card. It's simple and straightforward. I wish the artwork were more visible.

I think the spell discover is more valuable than the poisonous key word here. It will be a good card to  slot in to help tune a deck against your opponent.

I'm not sure who would use this. It's a beast, so maybe hunter?

Its like a pack filler, but for the random (3) cost beast - I assume

I dislike how good this card is. We'll definitely see it played, after all, in archetypes with healing looking for spell generation.

The flavor just doesn't make sense.

This is likely going to be a near auto-pick in Arena. Therefore, this is a solid 5-star card for me. Also, the winrate of arena decks that include this card are going to be high, yet I don't expect it's going to be frustrating to be playing against this card any time soon and that's a sign of good card design.

This could see play in constructed decks that want to be mostly minions that generate spells to take advantage of cards such as Prince Keleseth, Embiggen, Surrender to Madness, etc.   Maybe we will get a neutral legendary that says:  If your deck has only minions then your spells cast twice.  I'm not writing this one off just yet.

Not likely to be played for its beast tag but might be played as what is almost a strictly better Vulpera Scoundrel. I suppose it isn't impossible for this to be good in hunter but so long as they lack late game removal control hunter is a dream.

Vulpera Scoundrel saw play, and that card is better (poison and tribe>mystery choice), so that card will see some play for sure.

Remarkably playable with that battlecry - it's a huge upgrade over Emperor Cobra - but probably still not good enough to go into most decks.

Since the trickster worked previously, I can see this also seeing play in a spell orientated deck.

People see a pack filler, I see a tech card that is just a good and universal as Stonehill Defender (not good against the same decks obviously, stonehill was a good anti-aggro tool, this is a great anti-control tool)

Scavenging +2/+2 going to be crazy

Hardest card to give an opinion. Its a 3 drop with only 3 health but infinite attack, in theory its better than a 4/3. And it gives you a spell you can choose, so its valuable. At first sight its a good card.

Is the mystery option on vulpera really that good? Cause this seems like a plain better version of it.

Solid card to put into your deck if you need value after a bunch of the other value cards rotate. It looks like they are toning down the discover options this year so cards like this are actually way more valuable than one would think.

I'm probably way higher on this card than I should be. I like the Poisonous, I love the Discover effect. It's probably more of an Arena standout than something that will ever make a difference in Standard, but there's always a chance it finds a way in some decks. As much as I hate to say it, I'm not sure if this ever makes the cut in a serious deck.

Primordial Explorer saw play in Hunter. This fills a similar role but it's a Beast. Some classes should find a reason to play it.

I don't think it will ever see play in a meta deck, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Solid poisonous and discover card.

Such a weird card. I mean, it's good in Arena and might find a place in Constructed if you want spells but would prefer not to have them in your deck (I've had ideas with Starscryer) but what a funky flavour.

This is basically a mix between Vulpera Scoundrel and Primordial Explorer. Venomous Scorpid helps generate value and can trade into any minion, unlike Scoundrel. This almost demands the opponent to have in-hand removal to remove it, which means your Scorpid consumed an in-hand resource while you generated an in hand resource. I think this easily fits into Priest, but I could also see this in other slower decks from other classes since Scorpid is an annoying and resource efficient minion.

This should have been a rogue card and should give poisons instead of random spells.
