What's your preferred Mage build in RoS?

Submitted 4 years, 9 months ago by

I climbed to 5 pretty casually in the earlier part of this month with Cyclone Mage, but have been floundering around in that bracket for lack of a desire to really grind without swapping to "fun" decks to mix it up a bit. Still, I always come back to Mage ❤.

I was having quite a but of trouble with Warrior for a while though having swapped back to a Dragon build for the moment with some edits has been a fair bit more consistent for me. Nightmare Amalgam is excellent as a Dragon enabler/Zilliax base and Giggling Inventor has been *far* more helpful against token/aggressive decks than Rabble Bouncer since the Dragon build curves out a board presence much more easily to contest the board in the early game. Cyclone is probably still my favorite in general due to the variance in matches.

So how about you? Trying anything odd/different, or do you have a preferred shell to stick the Giants/CC package in?

CardID or NameBADCARDNAMEMusic is the strongest form of magic.

I'm running this version of Mana Cyclone Mage, which does pretty well against Warrior. I dropped al the cards that felt underwhelming like Banana Buffoon and Stargazer Luna, for a more consistent late-game with Astromancers and Archmage Antonidas (yes, even without the Bananas). I'm also running Doomsayers to handle Aggro as well as mirrors. He works very well with all the freezes in the deck.

Since the introduction of Ray of Frost and Magic Trick, it's definitely Quest Mage. By far.

Does the twin spells count as a new spell for the quest?

O, that this too too solid flesh would melt

I like to play something different, so I am playing Freeze Mage, specifically SoLegit's list: https://hearthstone-decks.net/freeze-mage-19-legend-solegiths/

The Mage deck i enjoy the most right now is Freeze Mage ! Maybe because a few years back Freeze Mage was the deck that i played the most and also got me my first time rank 5.

Kinda cool that it somehow still works - sure not as good as it used to be but still fun!

The Kadhgar Summoner Mage is pretty fun to play to but most of the time too much RNG reliant - but if you just want to mess around and have fun Summoner Mage is da Bomb :) :)

Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!

I am currently having a lot of fun with this

a tempo mage variant. Tried some versions of it by now. When all goes well, you can win at turn 5. Even warriors can be beaten by this. You can have bad games ofc against other aggro decks when they win the battle for early bord control.
