Georgec has hit rank 1 legend in classic on not one, not two, but all three of Hearthstone's servers! Considering the amount of competition at the top of any of Hearthstone's ladders, this is quite the achievement and we're expecting he'll have to fight quite hard if he wants to keep it for the end-of-season rankings.
He has been kind enough to share his decks over on his Twitter account, so we've put them together on the site and made them easier for everyone to use themselves on their own climbs on the Classic ladder.
You can always see up-to-date leaderboards on the official Hearthstone website. As of writing, we have verified George's Rank 1 status.
Classic Combo Ramp Druid
It all started out with George stomping the ladder in Europe with Druid. He took Rank 1 legend at the start of the season, though it wouldn't be his for long.
Classic Freeze Mage
A few days after his achievement, George got his Rank 1 Legend status back on the Classic ladder in Europe when he brought out Freeze Mage. "Farming all the Miracle and Zoo players."
Classic Miracle Rogue
On April 16, George announced that he had hit Rank 1 on both Europe and the Americas servers. He was holding the positions with this Miracle Rogue deck.
Classic Face Hunter
Yesterday, George climbed through the Asia-Pacific realm to earn his third Rank 1 Legend title in Classic. Face Hunter was the key and he held a 68% winrate with it, his run going just over 150 games at an end score of 103-49!
We don't know what's next for George, but we're excited to see what kind of placements he can keep toward the end of the season. Will he be the first Hearthstone player to hold a Rank 1 title on all of Hearthstone's servers for a game mode? Could the competition heat up fierce to knock him down to the bottom? We've got two weeks to go but we'll be keeping an eye out.

Georgec. Wonder how many people even still remember that a few years ago he was tipped as one of the top up and coming hearthstone players in the world. He's still fairly young for a pro gamer, if I recall correctly.
Its amazing where hearthstone was just 3 years ago, compared to the depths of today. The game maybe much healthier, and perhaps even more 'fun', but the hype has since moved on.

That is an impressive achievement, but I don't understand the long-term competitive appeal of this game mode at all. Do players plan to do this with the same decks every month? I doubt the meta will change without any changes to the card pool.
Well, considering how the game went sideways with the rng after the classic era, i pretty much enjoy it much more. Also, blizzard knew that not implementing classic leads to lower playerbase since many people hated playing the game for a few years now.
This is exactly what they did in WOW. Compare everything after pandaria to TBC. Also cataclysm was a hybrid, very nice before the dungeon nerfs.
Can't wait to play some control warrior when i get the time :)
That's what I thought when it was announced, and I'm not overly interested in the mode, but Vicious Syndicate had an interesting meta report that indicates that Classic may not have been as solved as we thought. It's still mostly solved though. I started playing a month or two after Naxx released and the oppressive meta I remember was Undertaker Hunter and Undertaker Zoolock. It seems that Hunter and Zoolock are much weaker in Classic than folks remember. Miracle Rogue also apparently has a negative win-rate at lower ranks, but has an insane WR at Legend ranks. Which is sort of a cool self-challenge - play the decklist and measure your WR over time since the ceiling is very high. I'm pleased enough with the mode even if I don't play it often, and for me it's a proof-of-concept of separate ladders with separate pools of "identical" cards. They can get a lot more creative with these modes in the future (but man do I hope they redesign the UI of the game chest).
I can only speak for myself, but I find Classic to be a perfect fit for my habits. I have a very limited availability -- on average, I play 50-80 games per month, including Tavern Brawls and Adventures. So having a place where I don't have to relearn old habits or chase the "hot new" legendaries and epics, all while having a reliable power level ceiling, is quite appealing.
My current goal is to get to legend in Classic. That'll probably take me a few months, considering my time investment and the fact that I don't have a star multiplier to boost my progress this month.
Would have been more impressed with Shaman
It feels weird seeing these decks I could make without spending any dust, when that wouldn't have been possible when these decks were originally "current".
That's one of the reasons I like Classic though to be honest. I didn't have anywhere near the full collection when it was just Classic and Basic. But now I do have all those cards, building the collection over time. So I get to experience these decks in their pure form.
That said, while I enjoy the mode I tend to only play it briefly before returning to Standard or Wild because it is mostly the same 4-5 decks over and over again. Unfortunately the ability to experiment and discover is little to none. But I wouldn't be surprised if in the future we get some sort of progression in the "Classic mode" to start including other expansions.
It's there, but it is certainly very limited compared to Standard and Wild, and you might just get flamed for trying. I made an Alarm-o-Bot Druid, and got flamed by a Freeze Mage who had the gall to say I was an idiot for playing it (you can guess who won that game...).
Equipped with the power of hindsight, I'm glad I had a far-from-complete collection back in the day because it was the inability to play most meta decks that made deck building interesting. I'm even more glad my pals down below rank 15 had incomplete collections too :P
