Great text, unique like it should be for a Legendary. Now, it seems slow and at 8 mana it might be unusable without support, or for late game with powerful 1 mana minions like lackeys. I guess we have to wait if said support is received in this expansion or if lackeys are relevant enough.

It seems cool, but I don't know if it is ever going to be fast enough. If you can't get any value out of it the turn you play it (with life tap for example), it might just be removed before your next draw. Plus, you'd have to create a deck that reliably draws high value (deathrattle?) minions. I don't know if 8 mana to force out a removal card from your opponent is worth it.

I see some potential in wild, but I doubt it's going to be a high impact legendary in standard. It reminds me of Flark's Boomzooka, and that didn't see any play whatsoever, aside from some very wonky meme decks.

you can get it from the 5 mana  bane of doom theres less demons to choose from early in the year now so chances are better.

If theres some other way to cheat it into play then that'd be the way to go. then you go ahead and draw some cards on the same turn.  Your deck will have to have some medium cost minions to have a chance at drawing a decent minion. The other option is to use deathrattles or sacrifice friendly effects so even if you cant use them to attack with the die at end of turn they have some use.

Usually you'll want to play this guy turn 10, then use your hero power to draw or some other card to draw some cards so you get a chance at the rush copy.

Probably just a fun card but thats fine, thats what I like anyway :)

This is going to be super fun in wild, since you can get him via skull of man'ari, lackey or voidcaller. In standard - highly depends on life tap draw, propably not good enough

I imagine this is intended to combo with Plot Twist and a large hand (maybe a control-style warlock that naturally has a large hand).

If you play this combo in a demon-heavy version in Wild, Bloodreaver Gul'dan gets pretty silly because each copied demon dies before it can be Psychic Scream'd or something.  Looking at you Doomguard.  This might be part of why Doomguard got rotated btw--they may have tried this in-house and felt it was a straight-to-wild sorta combo even without Gul'dan.  I'm looking forward to seeing a youtube video of this even it doesn't end up legitimately viable on the ladder.

Another thing to consider: later in the game, with a big hand, you would be drawing back many of the same cards since your deck would be small by that point.  If you hold stuff until your deck is empty, you could guarantee the results. Dunno if it's good enough to beat all the crazy stuff in wild already but this card is stronger than it looks alone.

I just realized that the reborn mechanic can be abused by Betrug. Sadly, the current cardpool for this combo is not very big. Colossus of the Moon and maybe Bone Wraith would be good draws.

Edit: Also, Anubisath Warbringer might be included in betrug decks as a one of.

I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Pulling bone wraith only nets you a 2/1 taunt at the end of the day.  Reborn is just deathrattle; nothing to get too excited about in this context

The problem with Betrug is still the fact that the power level of non-zoo warlock cards are not up there with the rest of the meta.  There's nothing wrong with the card itself; the archetype/class it belongs in just doesn't exist.  Once ... if they get good enough tools this expansion, Betrug will automatically see play

Sure, a 2/1 taunt isn't that impressive, but when I play the Betrug / Plot Twist Combo I want to a) clear the board and b) leave something behind for the next turn. Achieving b) is difficult, because in standard you are somewhat limited in your card choices... I'm currently running Cairne Bloodhoof, Mechanical Whelp and Safeguard. Bone Wraith struck me as a good idea because it helps protect Betrug and is a good card if you get under pressure before the combo is ready.

Of course you're still right about the overall competitiveness of the deck. It lacks some more control tools and a clear win condition. I tried to compensate by adding the portal demon package but that feels wrong. Let's hope for some support!
