Some very interesting developments happening in the DC Dual Force world today. The first is an increase in the number of packs a player gets on a daily basis. The second is a custom comic whose outcome will be influenced by the players. Let's get into it!

More Packs

Let's start with the increased pack acquisition. Dubbed the Beta Bonanza, it is temporary, until the progression/rewards are implemented in the game. Here's how it works:

  • The first time you log in after the event starts, you'll be given three packs.
    • If this doesn't work for you, log out and log back in.
  • Afterwards, you'll receive one pack per day.
    • You'll need to claim it from the Rewards tab, right above your Coin count.
  • The first 4 wins every day will net you 500 Gold each, for a total of 2000 Gold, enough for a pack.
    • Each win after will only give you 100 Gold, up to a maximum of 5000 Gold per day.

This should greatly increase the card acquisition, at least for now. We'll see how the proper rewards system stacks up.

Quote From DC Dual Force

Thank you all for the feedback about progression and collection-building. This is a unique time for the game, when everyone wants to build decks with as many options as possible, and our progression/rewards system aren’t quite complete. As such, we’re rolling out a Beta Bonanza event, to get you more packs for more fun as we ramp towards our long-term progression and rewards systems. So, here are the details on the Beta Bonanza!

  • The first time you log into the event, you’ll get THREE packs!
  • Every day after that, you will get ONE pack for logging into the game.
  • The first 4 wins every day will award 500 Dual Coins. This will net you 2000 Dual Coins total each day, which means another pack.
  • Additional game wins will then give you 100 Dual Coins.
  • We are moving the daily cap for Dual Coins you can earn from matches to 5,000. This is intended just to be a safety net for the game to prevent unknown exploits.

The Beta Bonanza event will run until progression/rewards are delivered in the game.

We hope this will enable many of us to build a better collection and experiment with more decks. If you have any feedback, join us in the DC Dual Force Discord!

Custom Comic

It looks like DC Dual Force will have it's own spin-off series of comic books. Sadly, it does not involve Batman using a deck of magical cards to fight his enemies and send them to the Shadow Realm, an act that is somehow less morally ambiguous than just killing them.

No, instead the comics are just set in a version of the DC Universe, with the twist seeming to be the fact that the issues will end in 2v2 fights, and the result will be determined by the heroes' play rate. For instance, this issue ends with Flash and Wonder Woman fighting Batman and Cyborg , and whichever pair gets played the most in July will determine the outcome (they're gonna stop fighting and go after the real threat, but you get to choose if Batman eats dirt or not).

Now, there's already an issue with this set-up: Flash, Wonder Woman and Batman are given to players for free, while Cyborg is not. So one team will automatically have a higher chance of winning, especially when players have a limited pool of cards because of the open Beta. Without spoiling the comic (and without knowing what follows), Wonder Woman could've relatively easily been swapped with someone like Zatanna or Hal Jordan, for instance, to even the chances a bit.

You can check the comic out on the game's official site.
