In today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showcased a brand new edition of the OLED Switch, this time featuring everyone's favourite plumber, Mario!
The new Mario Red Edition has a very clean yet iconic motif featuring the color red on the console, dock, and joy-cons. A silhouette of Mario is also present on the back of the dock and if you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can open the back to reveal several iconic coins on the I/O ports.
There are no bundled titles or special tech, but if you're in the running for an OLED Switch still, and the Zelda one wasn't your cup of tea, this is a solid upgrade over the original release. Though, if rumors are to be believed, the "Switch 2" or "Super Switch" might be arriving next year so maybe it's worth saving your money for now.
The console launches on October 6, two weeks ahead of Wonder's release date of October 20, and is available at regular OLED Switch pricing. Check your local stores or Nintendo's website for more information on availability.

I gotta say, I really dig the all-red design and the subtle Mario on the reverse. The coins are a nice easter egg for all those times when you need to dig into the back to swap your HDMI cord with another console... not that I have to do that all the time or anything.
TVs and as an extension, AVRs need more HDMI ports. How am I supposed to plug all my things in at once with only 7?
