[GA] At a Bazaar with Tess Greymane

Bazaar Burglary looks like a super cool quest, that can be completed rather quickly. The fact that you only need to generate the cards, not play them, makes this amazing. You are not forced to take suboptimal turns/plays dumping the cards, but you can keep them to play in the right situation.

With a godlike opener, the quest can be actually completed on T1, if you draw both Preparations and Clever Disguises. You would be left with a new hero power and four random spells. This will obviously not happen all the time and might not even be a good idea to attempt it, but could be fun :)

The Preparations especially will have more flexibility in this deck than just that one combo, the random spells you get from oher classes can be discounted for a great effect, or you can fuel Edwin VanCleef etc.

I threw in EVIL Miscreants because they are just too good. Gives you options and again, can help feed Edwin :)

If you dont win with your shiny new hero power, big Edwin or a tempo style plays, you can always fall back on our lovely Tess Greymane. Keep a Shadowstep handily ready to replay her again, or use it to get more cards from different classes to make her entrance that much stronger. Flexibliy is the name of the game.

You will most likely get some removal options from the random cards, so we dont "pollute" our deck with many in a first place, but Vendetta, which should cost 0 mana almost always, and some decent Rush minions are here to bail you out, if needed.

As an early taunt option, i decided to give a try one of the new minions, Bone Wraith. It looks like a smaller version of Sludge Belcher on first glance, we shall see how it performs.

Anyway, have fun with the deck, i know i will! ;-)

Small Tip: It can be helpful to keep Tess Greymane in mind when selecting cards via discover. That can help in a really huge way. For example, in one game i could choose Hex or Execute, i thought about it and chose Execute. Later on i killed three huge taunts with Tess (among other things) thanks to the Execute when i repeatedly bounced her back into my hand. Had i chosen Hex, that would be a very different story.

Changelog:

Galakrond's Awakening

-2x Preparation; +1x Backstab, +1x Flik Skyshiv

-2x Pharaoh Cat; +2x Dragon's Hoard

This deck absolutely should've been called "RoRo's Bazaar Adventure."

I played an opponent who had a variant of this deck, having Blade Flurry and Togwaggle's Scheme. Fun deck!

Oh damn! Blade Flurry. That is actually such a cool idea. Holy hell, thinking about it now, that card might actually make a comeback!

Yeah, I've started taking Blade Flurry when it comes out of an Ethereal Lackey if I have the quest completed. Fan of Knives still has its uses, but now that Quest Druid has for the time being replaced Token Druid, you wind up with a lot more 3-health minion swarms than 1-health ones.

I badly want this to work. It’s much more fun than the base Tempo version where you’re just bombing Lifedrinkers into Spirit of the Shark at the end.

It work fairly well, if you dont get screwed with the random cards too much :) Also it is important to keep Tess Greymane in mind when selecting cards via discover. That can help in a really huge way. For example, i could choose Hex or Execute, i thought about it and chose Execute. Later on i killed three huge taunts with Tess (among other things) thanks to the Execute when i repeatedly bounced her back. Had i chosen Hex, that would be a very different story.

Great advice, and maybe worth including in the guide if it isn't already super obvious.

As an update, I've had some success climbing with this. In contrast to the Tempo versions of Quest Rogue, I find that I lose steam less often, and have multiple times now stretched games against Control archetypes into fatigue, where we're both out of cards, but I'm still sitting at full health when it starts. (New Taunt Warrior! Fun!)

FWIW, I've swapped in Heistbaron Togwaggle and Siamat for some greater flexibility (replacing the Bone Wraiths) and continue to cling to 2x Sap like a child, both because of Conjuring Mage-related trauma and because with 3 guaranteed damage from face, I often need to just move something out of my way to take out a high priority minion (e.g. Vargoth, Keeper Stalladris).

Yeah, im not against the changes. Tho taking out Bone Wraiths, do you feel like you dont need the protection, especially early? Pretty much none of what you put in helps with aggro, do you no have a problem with it at all at the moment? I guess not that many fast decks in the mix right now.

Not a problem currently at least. There are enough quests in circulation right now that there aren’t many decks that can dedicate themselves to an aggro push in the early turns, and once you have the Blades in hand, those higher health Murlocs or Mechs aren’t quite so scary. (That’s the other reason I hold onto the Saps — to prevent mech stacking.)

What I’ve actually found is that because the quest is relatively easy to complete, and because I’ve dropped Blink Fox or the spawn of Pharaoh Cat (Kittens?) on the board to finish, by turn 4-5 *I’m* often the aggressor. It’s kind of what I like about the archetype; you’re control when facing control, but with enough pressure to keep the other guy on his heels.

Yeah, you can be the aggressor for sure when you basically have Ballista Shot on steroids :)

Did you consider running Heistbaron Togwaggle? You got Lackeys from EVIL Miscreants, you can even Shadowstep him for more of treasures.

I did, but i felt like i would be trying too hard to fit everything in the deck. I have only two Lackey generators and they mostly server to keep you goin and have something to play, feed edwin etc. I didnt want to have to keep the Lackey(s) until i get Togwaggle. That being said, i am not opposed to trying him out. Would probably swap one Cat or Pilfer for him.

That is actually a very bad target for it. Majority of Reborn minions are Neutral minions. You dont get class minions very often. But the Cat alone is a solid add, fills the curve and gives you extra bodies to throw on the board. That being said, it is in no way crucial to the deck, so feel free to replace it, if you want :)
