Should I craft Leeroy?

Submitted 4 years, 6 months ago by

Hey

I am really bored with Highlander Hunter. Quest Paladin is fun but I lose most games so the fun wore off pretty quick.

There are a few decks that run Leeroy Jenkins that I have been looking at. 1600 is a lot of dust for me so I wanted to get your opinions on if it is worth getting.

Any thoughts?

Leeroy is in most aggressive decks, and those tend to be a lot less expensive to craft than control or combo decks, so it's definitely a worthwhile investment for any budget or F2P payer, or any player really.

It's high up there on the priority list of must-craft classic legendaries unless you detest playing aggro.

Yeah I do love Aggro, I have to say.

I do think Quest Paladin is pretty fun it is just really weak, I guess that would be a control deck?

Quest paladin is hard to categorise. It plays like a tempo deck if you have a decent draw but then it transitions into insane lategame value. I suppose you could call it a very proactive control deck.

    Craft decks not cards.

Off the top of my head the only decks that use Leeroy right now are aggro warrior and aggro rogue.

The latter isn't in the best of spots because of unfavorable matchups against druids and warriors. If you can somehow dodge those you should be good, but if not, your experience will likely be similar to your quest paladin games.

Aggro warrior is in a great spot and one of the best ladder decks. However, it requires quite a few mandatory epic cards, in addition to Leeroy. If you only have 1600 dust I would first look at which deck you want to play. Leeroy can always temporarily be replaced with Reckless Rocketeer or other cards.

Not to mention if he ever gets nerfed you can get the refund, or if he gets sent to Hall of Fame you get the card plus the dust!  I personally crafted him a long time ago, before you couldn't get duplicate legendaries.  So of course that meant I opened him 3 days and a few packs later... To quote Arthas: "A misstep."

Quick!  Someone give me something clever to write here.

It's a good investment, it fits in many decks (mostly aggro, of course), but as suggested, find a deck you'd like to play and craft the cards you need; if Leeroy is one of them, go ahead.

IIRC it was the first legendary I crafted, to use it in Miracle Rogue.

    The pleasure is mine.

My last standard decks: nothing special right now.

realistically speaking, Leeroy has been a staple for any deck that needs a finisher and dramatically imrpoves the winrate of any deck that uses it.

At best he will eventually be Hall of Famed, but I find that fairly unlikely considering how he has never been that much of an issue despite there being multiple ways to combo him for huge amounts of damage.

Either way it's dust well worth spending, especially if you like playing aggressive decks

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

Leeroy Jenkins is a staple and a safe craft for any Aggro deck.

In the worst case, it is the specific Aggro deck that fails you, in a given meta, but not Leeroy per se.

Leeroy Jenkins is a relevant card now, he was relevant in the past, and he will be relevant in the future. Give him a craft, he is worth the dust.

Of the neutral legendary cards, Leeroy is a safe craft. Just keep in mind Team 5 seems to hate charge as a keyword so they might eventually HOF him.

But even in that case, you get a full dust refund, so you can just turn him into something else

Leeroy is a great long term investment especially if you like aggressive decks but it isn't core in highlander hunter and less decks are running leeroy right now than you'd usually see.  If there is something better you can craft then craft that but Leeroy will always find its way back into play.
