With the global release of Legend of Runeterra's first expansion, Rising Tides, coming in one day, we thought we'd run a recap and showcase the new keywords coming with the set.

There are six new keywords in total with plenty of tidal flavor.

You can find all our Rising Tides coverage here or if you're looking for all the revealed cards, you'll want to head on over to our Rising Tides expansion guide.

New Keyword - Attune

When I'm summoned, refill 1 spell mana.

This keyword helps play cheap spells which are aplenty in Bilgewater decks. Here are some examples of cards with Attune.

New Keyword - Deep

I have +3|+3 once your deck has had 15 or fewer cards left.

This keyword is found on the new Sea Monster subtype and a few other cards. Our goal is to delay the game so we can exhaust our deck and gain great power on our Deep cards. Here are some examples of cards with Deep.

New Keyword - Plunder

A card triggers its plunder ability when played if you damaged the enemy Nexus this round.

This is the big mechanic of Bilgewater. We'll see many decks featuring the region with cards that have Plunder or enable Plunder through small amounts of damage to the enemy Nexus. Here are some examples of cards with Plunder.

New Keyword - Scout

The first time only Scout units attack each round, ready your attack.

Cards with Scout can allow you to attack twice in a turn. Your opponent will have to decide if they want to take the damage to better prepare for a larger attack coming up, or getting rid of your Scout units. We can level up Miss Fortune quite quickly with this! Here are some examples of cards with Scout.

New Keyword - Toss

Obliterate X non-champion cards from the bottom of your deck.

Toss is a keyword that works very well with the one that was previously covered, Deep. This helps us mill our own deck while keeping our Champion cards save. The greatest part about it is we're getting rid of cards from the bottom of our deck which weren't likely to be drawn anyway so they won't be missed. Here are some example cards with Toss.

New Keyword - Vulnerable

The enemy can challenge this unit, forcing it to block.

Vulnerable is the last keyword added to Runeterra in the Rising Tides set. This is a reverse of the existing keyword, Challenger, and is useful for letting your units get through to enable Plunder, but also to drag priority targets into combat. Here are some example cards with Vulnerable.
