The Confession Thread - we won't judge you!

Submitted 3 years, 9 months ago by

Ever felt dirty playing that T0 net deck or getting away with some insane RNG win that was totally undeserved? Here's the place to ease your mind! We'll listen, we'll understand and most importantly: we won't judge.

I'll start with a confession of BM. I was playing Disco Lock and queued into a golden Odd Warrior. My first mistake was not to concede after Baku's animation, I knew I'd have to draw like a God to win that matchup. Of course RNGesus was busy elsewhere and I not only drew really really bad, but also suffered from abysmally bad discard outcomes. The straw that broke the camel's back was my opponent roping almost every turn until the mid game when it was crystal clear I had already lost the game. I don't think they did it on purpose, it felt more like they were doing something else and not really paying attention. Even late in the game their turns took far longer than necessary and that's something that really gets to me from time to time. So yeah, the last three turns I roped them without any cards left to play just to give something back. I usually never do that since I'm despicing this behavior with all my heart but today I couldn't help myself. Dear Odd Warrior player, if you should happen to read this: I'm sorry. Please do your fellow players a favor and concentrate on whatever your doing and don't multitask Hearthstone.

I play a lot of meme combo decks and I have fun showing off the combo during the game before pulling off the win. So if I'm wining, but it is by a mile, I'll intentionally delay the game and make bad trades so that I can play the deck as intended. Unless the opponent is BMing badly I don't want to just win a normal boring way.

I also play whatever decks I want in casual, whether total memes or top tier decks. Imo, that is what casual is for, to play what you want without having to play against the same decks or stress winning/losing as much.

I have no qualms in keeping my opponent in a match longer, if the situation calls for it. I'm a big time Ice Cream Shaman player (with my personal armor high score getting a few hundred shy of 10k armor), and I also at times play with infinite Nozdormu/'infinite' turn shenanigans to get that -600+ damage pillager on the opponent.

I played Spiteful-Priest back then when these Decks where Meta. I reached Rank 5 for the 1st Time, but it felt so cheap and utterly dull. Play all the Neutrals Everyone else plays, go Face, and win because of a Highroll Spiteful Summoner on Curve.

I also played a fair bit of Standard Res Priest last Season just to rank up a bit and see for myself if it's as braindead as it's Wild Counterpart.

    It is btw.

I actually have this weird habit of wanting to try out some of the old meta top tier decks after they've been nerfed, rotate out, or fall out of favor. Happened with Spiteful Priest too, Cubelock, and Reno Dragon Priest. Often times they're still fairly decent in wild, but when you play them you still can get the occasional person friending you wanting to know why you're playing a tier deck in casual lol xD

I... actually played big shaman yesterday. I, along with many others, am an avid big priest hater so of course I felt horrible but given its strenght and popularity I wanted to give it a quick try.

I then proceeded to go 0-5, as I deserved. Mostly due to poor draws plus my final game, the one time I did have one of my cheat cards on curve, I was met with a Kazakus on turn 4, into coin + Dragoncaster into a 10 mana polymorph potion on turn 5. Followed by both reno cards the two turns thereafter and topped off with a Tortollan Pilgrim into Luna's Pocket Galaxy into Stargazer Luna plus a full board the next turn.

Needless to say I wasn't even mad anymore at that point and deleting my deck felt pretty good.

Whenever I'm about to deliver the killing blow to a Quest Mage or Secret Mage in Wild, I let the rope burn and hurl at least three threaten emotes at them, then I kill them right before the turn ends.

To anyone I do this to, please understand that it's not personal...I just hate your guts. Lol

I absolutely love secret mage. I play a Fire Mage in WoW and this is what comes closest to that fantasy.

This has been a new thing I've been doing this expansion because I'm just so tired of so many decks, and sitting there watching their BS turns play out. So when I know I'm going to lose, I just leave the game open on my phone and put it in my pocket so my opponent gets roped on my last turn.

I usually say something like "yeah, you have fun with that buddy" under my breath as I just leave them to their BS. I don't want to grant them the satisfaction of me conceding so they can start a new match.

I added people after I losing a match to have a very friendly talk... but I never removed that person! Sometimes we even become friends, but then I forget who he was because Hearthstone profile/social system is absolutely garbage.

I'm really enjoying winning games on turn 4 with Discolock in Wild.

I'm playing a Pirate Warrior in Wild. I was going to write a long winded reason as to why but it turns out I just like winning.

     Sorry.

I fear I have made a habit of emoting "well played" ironically when my opponents get extremely lucky or sometimes even when I'm extremely unlucky. Topdecking 3 Bleeds for lethal from a deck with 20 cards, Seedlock dropping Kobold Librarian and Crystallizer on turn 2, you get it. One of these days I wanted to try out if Mozaki Mage was still good after the Incanter's Flow nerf. I knew my opponent might be able to kill me on my next turn. I was at 5 mana and had an Ancient Mysteries in hand to tutor Ice Block. I figured I could play Refreshing Spring Water and then proceed to protect myself since I only had 3 minions left in about 20 cards and the only negative out was to draw two minions. Which of course happened. Which of course ended up with my opponent topdecking lethal next turn. Well played. Sigh.

Anyway, I found out that the new Paladin hero Yrel provides the ideal well played emote for ironical use: "WHAT A TRIUMPH!" :D

I have finally crafted the card I was looking forward to the most before launch, but quickly began to loathe and now I feel dirty for crafting it: The Demon Seed. Sorry folks.

I crafted Sorcerer's Gambit to hit legend. I was fighting a ton of Warlocks and was just fed up with their shit. In the end, I became the very thing I swore to destroy. How ironic...

I haven't had time to finish either battle pass that we've seen so far.

    Fingers crossed for Stormwind.

I have to confess, reaching Legend in Standard Ranked for the first time in 2020 makes my heartbeat so fast I can't control it. I'm too hyperly aggresive for about 15 minutes in that last round just trying my best and too excited when my opponent conceded. The feeling was unforgetable. But afterwards I feel weak and powerless when it passed..

I've finally succumbed and played some games with Wild Seedlock, fatigue version. I feel dirty, but I want to get Tamsin's achievement before the next round of nerfs hits and maybe I have to take the deck to next Saturday's tournament if I want to have a chance at winning.
