Isn't it weird that the two weakest classes (DH and Necro) according to their own data got nothing this patch? Oh well.
Time and unfortunate lining up of art production schedules is the culprit here. We will get to both Necro and DH, we just want to make sure we also give both those classes the attention they deserve.
Looks like Spirit Barrage is back on the menue! Good news for WDs!
And Wizard got.... Hydra. Yikes. Personally, that was my fear. I'll give it a fair try, but.... Hydras?
Hydras have been a pretty popular skill with Wizards historically and based off of community feedback for more support, which was one of the leading reasons we went that way. They're also pretty interesting, relatively unique, and offered a lot of opportunity for creative ways to implement game mechanics.
I think a lot of folks are also missing a point that's admittedly not called out in the Patch Notes - taking periodic damage isn't going to nuke your DR from the set right away. We don't typically communicate under-the-hood things like ICDs, but the DR stacks being removed effectively has one.
I think folks using it in practice on PTR will go a long way, and it's why you can't fully judge a set by what's on paper until you have the rest of that practical experience.
For the duration of Season 20, all slots in Kanai's Cube will be able to select Legendary powers from Weapon, Armor, or Jewelry
Does this mean the restriction of powers from items not wearable by a certain class is also removed? Can my Demon Hunter now select The Furnace in the cube?
Class restrictions are still in place, but I've seen the Furnace for Demon Hunters feedback a few places. Passing it on for sure; I think even outside of Seasons, it might be nice to have competition for Dawn in the weapon slot.
No promises, of course, but the feedback is being sent to the right place. <3
I had that thought a while after posting, but wouldn't that go very hard against the previous stance of trying to ensure a zdps doesn't bring over double damage to the party?
It'd still be awesome. I don't really recall a time that a barb had a legit actual dps role in a 4 man party. Basically everyone but barb has been a 4 man meta dps at some point. Either way, I'm looking forward to giving it a spin.
Really depends on if that's how it functionally pans out. We'll keep an eye on as much as we can through PTR, but I really hope people play with this idea. I find it super intriguing.
You might also consider the group implications of needing Fear. Witch Doctor has Horrify as a Fear tool that also immobilizes. I'm interested to see if we've (inadvertently) created a scenario for a zDPS WD/RG Killer Barb combo.
Can you this season please give classes their new set from haedrigs gift? I feel like I'd have been a lot more willing to try a monk or crusader last season did I get to try one of their new sets early on.
/u/LordAnkou already said this below, but we don't plan on adding the new class sets to the Haedrig's Gift rotation until they're all in. One, because it's a bit more fair that way, and two, because it won't throw off the current rotation of mish/mashing old sets being given out with new ones at the same time.
/u/Nevalistis - Are you able to share with us which slots the new set pieces go into? For example, for Wizard you clearly want to use The Magistrate with the new Typhon's Veil set. Will that require using the cube or rorg because the set contains a helm?
I believe they are all the standard array. That would be: Helm, Shoulders, Chest, Pants, Boots, Gloves.
Is the Barb 2pc supposed to work for party members? It's worded that way, but it seems odd that items equipped by one member will benefit someone else as well. That being said, Barb can (and with the way I imagine the build most likely will) do it by himself with Ground Stomp + Threatening Shout.
The Shout portion should, but the Fear portion would not. I've seen some confusion on that.
Interested to see how it works out in practice on Thursday!
This is off topic, but it would be nice if weapon transmogs were less restricted. Fist weapons and wands make me sad.
One-handed swords, maces, spears, axes, can all be transmogged to eachother. I think daggers are also in that group, and maybe mighty weapons, and scythes.
But a wand can only be transmogged to a wand, and a fist weapon can only be transmogged to a fist weapon.
I always thought the restriction was silly, because wizards can wear non-wand weapons too.
We explained this a very long time ago, but the short reason why is that the ability to transmog is tied to weapon animations. Weapons that share the same animation can be transmogged, but those that don't can't. It's unfortunately a limitation I'm not sure we can get around without significant time spent on coding that, in all honestly, probably isn't worth it compared to making other more mechanical changes.
Could you share if helm is a wizard hat or not and in WD if it's the WD special type of helm (don't remember what it was) since they can have other rolls?
They are not, they're standard helms. I think this is good feedback, though, and I'll forward it on.
Maybe get someone to fix the clan bug that's gone unresolved for over a month.
A week fine. Two weeks, normal for Blizzard support. Four weeks, you all ain't even giving a shit anymore.
I use to be an adamant fan. Now I hate all this shit!
Fix the clan bug!
It's not terribly helpful when you generalize the issue you're running into. If you can be more specific about what you're experiencing, I can check in on it. But "the clan bug" is pretty vague and, as omniscient as I try to be, it's literally impossible for me to have my pulse on everything.
I'm sorry you're frustrated, and I'd like to help, but I need more information if I'm going to do that.
Totally unrelated, but as someone that can't access blizz forums at work but can hop on reddit here and there, it's nice to see a place where blizzard actively communicates, even if it's just small stuff like how a patch will work.
Nevalistis
I've verified it's been bugged and passed on for investigation. No ETA, but we're looking into it.

That's kind of what happened with the Legacy of Dreams gem after the Season of Nightmares.
Suppose it depends on how much this breaks things. Because it might.
Nevalistis
Could be solid for a zDPS build, depending.

Me: I'll post patch notes then go to my team lunch and check on the inevitable reddit thread when I get back, should be no problem.
That's it. That's the joke. Off to reading now.
Nevalistis
There are no plans to add new Set Dungeons for the additional class sets at this time.

No worries! Thought I'd cover both since I've seen the question a lot in general. :)

Shouldn't. Only the Barbarian should benefit from the extra damage on Feared enemies.

Or, you know, a new class set with art assets and associated rigging needs. :P

Rude!

Possible! But that's next patch's problem. ;) We're focused on 2.6.8 for now.

Only the Barb wearing the set.

It is not. We've got it tracked as a bug.
