I've been working on this for a long while. This is my own 3d model rendition of Auriel, Archangel of Hope. She's my favorite character in the game so I thought I'd pay her tribute.
This model was sculpted and painted in ZBrush, rendered in Keyshot.
The plan for this model is to pose it, 3d print it using a large format resin printer to capture every detail, then electroplate the armor with real 24k gold and paint the rest (I even have some of that "Vantablack" paint for her hood). The wings will have a specially designed system of tubes running inside that will direct a stream of smoke out of the wings from a micro fog machine I've designed that will be hidden in the statue base. The wings will also house bright blue LEDs which when combined with the smoke will give the effect of Auriel's signature "energy" wings.
Initially I was going to have Auriel fighting Diablo over the Soulstone, but with the upcoming release of Diablo IV I will hold off on that and maybe do Lillith instead.
