7 mana makes this just too late to interrupt aggro. The thing big decks really need to do is stick a really big taunt very early against aggro, and this just isn't able to do that.

Could be the medium-sized deck summon that Warrior needs to get its big deck off the ground. Not matter what you get its going to help slow down aggressive decks and make room to continue summoning big things. Also supports Big Paladin, but I don't think that deck has enough of a payoff to warrant running over Big Warrior.

I rated this card 4 stars because I have sympathy for all of the Paladin players who have tried and failed to make Big Paladin work, and I hope for their sakes that this card can make the deck better. But in truth I am skeptical about it's playability.
I think Big Warrior failed because all of the cheat cards were 9-10 mana, and at that point in the game you could just as easily play the minion you were cheating out. 7 mana may be just a little too late for this to work, but only time will tell.

Paladin: support for Duel! Paladin. Duel! paladin was already bad, and i feel like it still didn't get enough support if you ask me. Bad card, will mainly see play as a meme.
Warrior: Good card. Warrior has a lot of good card you want to target with this, like Rattlegore and Troublemaker. Also it's REALLY GOOD to play alongside Ceremonial Maul. Also let's not sleep on the fact Recruit/Dimensional Ripper warrior still has support in the Rise of Shadows set, with cards like The Boom Reaver and Dimensional Ripper. And Kael'thas Sunstrider can help get out these spells earlyer. Also Recruit warrior actually got good support this time around with cards like Reaper's Scythe and Lord Barov to help with survivability. I.m.o. recruit warrior is a sleeper deck right now and people are going to soon understand it's hidden potential.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Support for Big/Ripper Warrior and Duel Paladin. Could work fine because both classes have some removal tools (warrior has lots) to stay alive long enough to get Value out of this.
I crafted golden Grom to play the Recruit warrior back in the KnC days. This card looks just like the 6 mana warrior recruit card, but for 1 mana more you get divine shield and taunt. But you had the recruit weapon back then. Still - cheating out big minions is the thing I probably enjoy the most while playing.

In Warrior, Gather Your Party would recruit a random minion from your deck for 6 mana, hopefully cheating out 7-10 worth of mana for 6.
Paladin is able to give their minions Divine Shield for 1 mana with Hand of Protection, and their classic legendary Tirion Fordring has Taunt AND Divine shield for 8 mana.
With this in mind, this card is essentially a cheaper Tirion that doesn't have his death rattle, which should be good for control decks wanting to run big minions.
With this card however, you'll want to build your deck around running big minions, maybe nothing smaller than say 6 mana that either have incredible stats or very beneficial death rattles since they'll have taunt when summoned by this minion. Lifesteal is also a very strong consideration for this card, Paladin received Judicious Junior, who has very good stats for cost - 4/9, making her a perfect candidate to become a new Wickerflame Burnbristle.
Warrior received Rattlegore and Troublemaker in this set - Rattlegore being a persistent sticky minion and Troublemaker able to create 6/6 worth of stats that will attack random enemies at the end of your turn.
But this card will negate any powerful battlecries your minions will have when summoned - Boom Reaver won't summon a copy of a minion with rush, King Phaoris won't summon a board full of minions based on spells in your hand, etc. On the same token, minions with what could be considered NEGATIVE battlecries such as Deathwing are also a good candidate for this spell, able to pull the massive 12/12 worth of stats and placing taunt and divine shield on him.

This is a nice support tool for Big Paladin and Big Warrior. I think Big Paladin is so close to becoming viable, but now with this and Plagued Protodrake I think the archetype can get there. Imagine pulling out Kael'thas Sunstrider with Duel! on 5 and then playing First Day of School into Commencement. Big Paladin is a deck I'll definitely try to see if it now works. I think Big Warrior doesn't work as well even with this new addition as its swing turns come online much later in the game than what Big Paladin can accomplish.
A new Rare Paladin/Warrior Spell, Commencement, has been revealed!

didn't we do this already in Rastakhan's Rumble? And wasn't it just as terrible then?
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Not the same.
That one summons one from your deck, is better than random 6drop.
I love that support for Big warrior/pally.
By The Holy Light!
recruit warrior/Duel! paladin support at least it has 2 decks that can try it and success/fail

This post is discussing the wild format.

It's pretty decent as a "cheating" card for Big Warrior or Big Paladin, although I don't feel like either of those decks have enough support yet.
You could play this in a big minion version, but it looks terrible anyway haha.
Too slow, but if you're playing a big deck, especially with warrior, then this is an auto include.
Consideration have to be given to the fact that it summons it out, so there's one less minion to use with Dimensional Ripper.
Okay this is not so random, but still slow nonetheless. Warrior can hold of till T7, but idk if pally can do that as well. We'll see..

Ok card.

If either class can get a Big Minions deck working properly, this card will seriously help.

If Gather Your Party didn't work (it didn't), neither will this.
Filler card. Right now it's unplayable. This card cost too much for just a RANDOM recruit with taunt and divine shield

GREAT for new Paladin deck type!
