Read a post about some comments from streamers who attended the summit. Seems legit

    https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/f7qnia/hearthstone_summit_news_from_2_italian_streamers/

    Now I am excited!!

If this is true and Mage (my favorite class) is coming back (Tempo Mage please!!) then I will buy loads of packs

for the coming expansion...I love Hunter too it's all good!! Bad news for priest apparently..

That seems like an incredibly weird statement.Really depends on what the definition of "fun" is:

-the ability to build multiple working decks

-having a playstyle that's not dependant on any particular support, therefore always being playable

-Yogg levels of RNG because decision making is overrated

also, when isn't it bad news for Priest? They're either hated by everyone or played by noone.

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

I am not sure if you have read the reddit post. I just quoted what the streamers said about these two classes. This is not a debate about what fun is or should be. It's all about what to expect from the next expansion/rotation. What I noted in the comments and are interesting (and hopefully true) are:

    • Quality of the cards? Good quality of the cards, new archetypes, reinterpretation of some mechanics

    • Did Blizzard take f2p players into consideration? Yes, big improvements for F2p and for the cost of the game

    • Will the meta change? Yes for the rotation, for new exp and there will be other news that will help this

    • Which class attracts you most? Hunter , there will be a fusion of 2 mechanics that works great.

    • Mage? it's the most fun class

    • Priest? It will suck

    • Warrior? A tank

    • Rogue? I lost 8 games in a row against it

    • Shaman? Some cards op others bad 7/10

    • More fun class for you? Hunter

    • Druid? Undertone even if there are 2 or 3 op cards

    • Paladin? Will have a "new identity" that impressed me a lot 8/10

    • Is the new exp balanced? Yes except two or 3 cards

    • Is the new mechanic cool? It's very skillbased

    • Which is the class that will sucks the most? Priest.

    • Do you agree with what Frodan said? No

I've been a bit pessimistic on the hype Frodan was trying to build, and it appears I may have reason to be.  Was hoping for a big "re-invention" of the game, maybe a complete overhaul of the Basic/Classic set, or even a move towards the Core Set idea.  But likely just some new cards/mechanics.

Quick!  Someone give me something clever to write here.

I feel the "hype" was for the BG changes, with Dragons added. I'm not getting my hopes up for Constructed or Arena.

If that was the case, they would've saved that for the big year announcement. Instead, it's just something to tide us over.

    • Paladin? Will have a "new identity" that impressed me a lot 8/10

It feels like paladin has been going through an identity crisis for a while now. DoD brought along Pure Paladin, there was that whole 1-health matters stuff from Ul'dum, as well as Reborn paladin, big paladin from RoS, as well as secret and dragon paladin, heal paladin from Rastakhan, Mech paladin from Boomsday, and I guess buff cards from Witchwood, not really sure if there was an overarching theme from that set. While getting new archetypes is a typical for new expansions, these archetypes just don't work together at all, nor have seen any support aside from Dragon Paladin seeing the support of having more dragons be printed.

Interested to see if this new identity will stick, but at the same time it'd be nice to have any current paladin archetype get support, especially since the 1-health matters cards lead to one of my favorite decks of all time, hand paladin.

    Absolute gamer.

I hope paladins new identity doesn't appeal to me too much. I dusted all of my paladin cards because I am poor and need dust and I really don't enjoy the class. I would be sad to learn that the class is actually super awesome and I will have to craft all of those cards again.

I'm not sure there's too much to dig into, from these teasers.

    It could be literally anything.

If these things are true, I will be excited.

I'm not F2P, but I think the current cost to stay competitive is too high.

Related to hunter it's the fusion of two mechanics that has my interest.

I'm hoping some of the mage fun involves meme decks.

I think skill based mechanics are good for the health of the game. Folks complain about the high impact of RNG on win rates. Even a moderate lowering of the RNG impact would be good for the game.

It would be cool to see a mid-to-late game deathrattle beast hunter.

I really like the Deathrattle keyword, both mechanically and flavorfully, and I also think beasts would be cooler if it was less aggro/swarm stuff like Timber Wolf and more like big swingy minions like Savannah Highmane.

Big Improvements for F2P ---> Increased Daily Gold Rewards, or Higher Rewards (more packs or dusts)

Cost of the Game for F2P (Gold only) ---> Reduced Pack costs, Reduced Ticket costs or Reduced Adventures costs.

There's nothing else I can think of...

No chance. They would never change the costs. A lot will disagree but, the ratio is balanced. The more you reduce the costs (or increase the dusts), the less people will buy packs, and that is affecting the real world economy. And I think it would do more damage to Blizzard than help F2P players.

So, how to help F2P, but not affecting the economy? I don't know.

Ok that's a valid point. But if they could do it in a flexible way. Example: We know that legendary cards are a must in most decks specially the decks that matter in the meta. If they reduce slightly the cost of crafting legendaries then F2P players probably would be able to craft decks that don't have access to just because the cost of crafting legendaries is prohibitive. I know, this could affect negatively the economy of the game but it could as well as boost the game as more F2P players would have the opportunity to climb the ladder...money is important for a publisher but so is the number of active players they have..

Quite frankly, I don't know. One can only hope for something good and it's only ~1 month to find it out. Just ride the train. *Choo Choo*

Blizzard can choose to either have a steady stream of money, or a steady stream of players. If they make the cost of the game super high, then they might have a nice supply of money, but they will fail to attract any players. Players=money, but if they ask for too much money then they will lose players and thus lose money.
