I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I think stuff like this is fine as long as it is a one-in-a-million type scenario. Though I think in general Blizzard should tone down the mana cheating stuff as that is usually a big source of frustration for a lot of players. Kael'thas Druid, Big Priest, Quest Mage, all of that stuff is super frustrating because it lets you do way more in a turn than should be possible.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
I think once the mana cheating reaches a certain level it's just not fun anymore. If there are so many different things to cheat out and just end the game on the spot it's just bad design.
This was obviously an extreme example, but what's the difference of it happening on turn 1 as opposed to turn 2 or 3?
laughs in wild Darkglare warlock
Well, everyone is assured to experiencing at least once, a bs druid play on turn 1-3 in this meta and it seems like you've drawn the lottery to be fked that day.
The worst thing is that the 5/4 will immediately draw him 2 replacement cards
I have thought about this quite a bit over the years, and having lots of ramp and/or mana cheating is only really a big issue when there is lots of card draw to go alongside it and alleviate the card disadvantage. Of course druid is one of the 4 classes (druid, warlock, rogue and demon hunter) that have more card draw than they really know what to do with, so it is a genuine issue.
Similarly to Ultimate Infestation before, the card draw attached to Twilight Runner is the thing that really makes it unfair at the moment. If that card just cost 6 so it couldn't be recruited with Guardian Animals it would feel so much more reasonable, even on turn 1 (though that's still going to be tough to come back from, at least you aren't way behind on cards as well).
YEAH I'VE HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME TOO
and I played that deck all weekend and could never get my mulligan to pull that off!
Doesn't matter as long as you had fun kappa
This happened in a GM match where Firebat got GA off on turn 2, instantly won the match. What a joke
This ain't no place for a hero
In general I think the game is currently revolving too much on pop-off turns on one hand, and card generation RNG on the other.
Either way it feels like you can hardly adjust your strategy and turns against these mechanics.
