It's here! No, not card reveal (even though Blizzard still claims so on their site) but the streamer event Battlegrounds Brawl, which was announced simultaneously with the early access to the game mode after BlizzCon.
In the tournament, four teams of four players will go head-to-head in order to find out the true masters of the game mode. Those who voted on their favourite teams (and got a card pack for their trouble) have gained points for their team for every in-game Top 4 Battlegrounds finish, and if the team reached 250,000 wins in total, the streamers will receive $25,000 in additional prizing. Should the team you selected come out on top, you'll get another card pack.
Hopefully we'll also get that card reveal at the start of the stream.
Format & Prizing
Two players from each team will play a round of Battlegrounds against each other and earn points based on their finish as follows:
- 1st place awards 5 points
- 2nd place awards 4 points
- 3rd place awards 2 points
- 4th place awards 1 point
Players ending up 5th-8th won't earn any points.
The prize money is distibuted as follows:
- $20,000 per player
- $15,000 per player
- $10,000 per player
- $5,000 per player
Additionally, each team will gain the $25,000 bonus as the 250,000 win goal was reached by every team's voters.
