Illidan Stormrage Strategy - Trial by Felfire Challenges
In the fourth and final encounter of the chapter "The Slithery and the Surly", you're fighting Ilidan Stormrage.
Quick Tips
- Illidan starts with 3 Mana and has plenty of ways to go wide early (Satyr Overseer, Command the Illidari), so having access to early AoEs will help you in the fight.
- He also has plenty of weapons in his deck so tech in those Oozes. If you're not forced to play them for tempo, try to save them for Warglaives of Azzinoth or Flamereaper.
Recommended Decks
- Illidan's Passive Hero Power forces you to go for control in this one. Having the ability to heal isn't bad either as you will be taking a lot of damage.
Watch Out For These Cards
You Are Not Prepared can be an absolute nightmare, especially if you were going for a more aggressive strategy. If he wields a weapon when casting the spell, its attack will count for all strikes regardless of the durability left.
Aranna's Demon Hunter friends Sklibb, Karnuk, and Shalja have joined team Illidan for this fight, and you'd be unhappy to see any of them Outcasted.
Hulking Overfiend can pick apart a low-health board, so be wary.
Kael'thas Sunstrider gives him easy access to strong turns when comboed with Twin Slice. Inner Demon can be game-ending.

Heh, copied his Karnak with Soul Mirror, and then buffed him to hell with quest power :D He couldn't kill him (too much hp and no hard removal) or me (double healing + life steal).
Has anybody beat this with DH? Trying to pass the whole set of challenges w/ DH, but Illidan's on a whole nother level
Actually the same deck that defeated Lady Vashj. A quest Resurrect priest + Alexstraza
yep I found that this deck is effective against many of the bosses

This worked for me on the second or third attempt. I didn't have Reliquary of Souls so I played another Ooze. Basically try get Khartuts down and Res them.
