Baltharak Strategy - Trial by Felfire

In the fourth and final encounter of the chapter "A World in Ruin", you're fighting Baltharak. You'll meet yet another ally to add to your team.

Trivia

• During the Felfire Festival from June 2020, a Legendary Quest rewarded players with 3 Packs for completing this boss/wing.
  • These packs are 1 each of Ashes of Outland, Rise of Shadows, and Year of the Dragon

Quick Tips

• Play a control game from the start until you can establish your board to quickly defeat Baltharak.
• Milling your opponent is a viable strategy. He has cards that force him to draw into his deck so using your Coldlight Oracle and Dancing Swords  is A+.
• Infectious Sporeling is a very useful card later on to prevent triggering Baltharak's Hero Power when you're close to victory - or to save your butt!
• Use the slow start as an opportunity to use your Hero Power to gather your strong cards - Betrayal, Crushing Walls, and Flanking Strike.

The Encounter

You'll start the game with Karnuk, Outcast on your board.

Oh, sorry, did you think we were actually going to get Karnuk to play with? Baltharak has a different idea and has decided to begin corrupting our soon-to-be friend by casting Entombed in Rust.

Our goal is ultimately to survive the onslaught since it can be very hard, though not impossible, to defeat Baltharak through traditional means due to his Hero Power that grants him healing every time a Demon dies. Fear not though, for we have the ability to force him to draw cards and he himself has cards that will further dilute the deck. Making strong use of your new allies will let you prevent Baltharak from touching your face and also generating some spells if you are lucky enough to get the Outcast part off from Shalja, Outcast.

After Baltharak draws Karnuk, your new friend will join your side and hopefully, Baltharak is close to being out of cards. Keep the control game up until it is time to smack him in the face.

Defeating Baltharak will add Karnuk to your team. This healing ability is going to be very useful!
