Scholomance Academy Arena Impact - Rogue Cards
Jandice Barov - Rogue Arena Review
Jandice Barov by AbusingKel
It looks powerful but there are enough mediocre 5 drops that you hate the results of your random dice roll. Having 1 be extra fragile makes it even more concerning. Scoring this as a 4 for now but I'm not optimistic it will play well, and expect one of the other 2 legendary cards in the draft slot will be a better choice.
Jandice Barov by Boozor
Very powerful card, it's effectively a huge stat stick. Consider the avg random 5 drop is about 4/4, you're getting a [Hearthstone Card (Silverhand Knight) Not Found], with another 4/4 (that dies to damage) - this is a very conservative outcome. Occasionally you'll blow out your opponent.
Jandice Barov by sinti
Amazing card, even when one of those 5-drops dies to one hit, it will steal trade for something, at worst 2 Mana vs mage, lot more vs other classes. You could get Deathrattles too, so extra bonuses. There are like 3 or 4 outcomes that can be pretty abysmal, but there are also few dozen that are going to be great - see the list of possible minions here.
Doctor Krastinov - Rogue Arena Review
Doctor Krastinov by AbusingKel
Slightly better in Rogue with her knives but very good combination of functionalities. Rush is great in the arena and the 1/1 buff to a weapon could even happen more than once.
Doctor Krastinov by Boozor
Solid card for Rogue, since they have a reliable weapon source. Body is reasonable.
Doctor Krastinov by sinti
In Rogue, this card is insane, since you can have a weapon out easily before you play this. +1/+1 on your knife (or whatever else you might have equipped) and a 4/4 Rush is a pretty good deal for 5 Mana.
Infiltrator Lilian - Rogue Arena Review
Infiltrator Lilian by AbusingKel
It's a strong ability thanks to the stealth and the overall math of two 4/2 minions for 4 mana. The legendary designation keeps me from giving this a score of 5.
Infiltrator Lilian by Boozor
Bit weak for a legendary, but not horrible. It's random effect will lead to some lethals and its a bit of AOE protection.
Infiltrator Lilian by sinti
Pretty strong tempo card. Stealth almost guarantees you get to choose where to attack with this and then it deals extra 4 damage and if the situation is right (it goes face or you trade into last enemy minion or into a 1/1 etc.), the token can even survive.
Steeldancer - Rogue Arena Review
Steeldancer by AbusingKel
Based on their available weapons, this is better in Warrior than Rogue. Arcanite Reaper and, for those truly blessed by RNGesus, Gorehowl will be a pretty feelsbadman moment if your opponent pulls it off. It fits any rogue deck since you'll get the 1 mana minion, at worst.
Steeldancer by Boozor
Consistently a good card with a 4/4 + 1 drop. Hard to not call this a premium 4 drop at this point.
Steeldancer by sinti
Very strong tempo play, if you can get pretty much any weapon out before you play this. Hooked Scimitar or Mirage Blade into this can make for some serious early game. Even if you just have a Wicked Knife out, getting a 4/4 + a random 1-drop for 4 Mana is pretty good. Some nice combo with weapon buffs like Deadly Poison as well.
Potion of Illusion - Rogue Arena Review
Potion of Illusion by AbusingKel
The upside is great but the cost is high and it may not have an immediate impact on the board, making it a tempo loss. There will be times when it plays incredibly well but the mid-range score is based on the reliability.
Potion of Illusion by Boozor
Similar to Echo of Medivh from the past, some ups/downs, probably an average card overall.
Potion of Illusion by sinti
Pretty strong win-more card, but one that could potentially win you the game. Tho as with most cards like these, if you are behind and/or in top-deck mode, it can be a big dud.
Secret Passage - Rogue Arena Review
Secret Passage by AbusingKel
Wow, I love this card. Great design for rogue as an inexpensive combo trigger with a big draw. It can bail you out of a bad mulligan; help you find a solution to a bad board or a win-con when ahead; and late game it has a good chance of simply being a 1 mana "Draw 5" if you can play them all that turn. Exceptional versatility!
Secret Passage by Boozor
Similar to Evocation except it's a guarenteed card "draw" but it's from your own deck. I think this card is excellent especially for a late game dig as long as you know your deck has something you want. The cards don't get discarded like Tracking so there's no deck thinning, but you effective have access to an additional 5 cards worth of resources immediately.
Secret Passage by sinti
Very similar to The Soularium, but you need to play whatever you had in hand before you use this, if you were going to that turn; and in return, you don't discard any cards. This will definitely be a strong card, helping you fish for answers or for a better play. Cheap Combo and/or Spellburst activator too.
Shifty Sophomore - Rogue Arena Review
Shifty Sophomore by AbusingKel
Stealth makes it highly likely you'll get the card and the card pool is decent. Good value and sticky. What's not to like?
Shifty Sophomore by Boozor
Nice card, nice effect and some value to go on top. Very good.
Shifty Sophomore by sinti
Pretty strong value card, Stealth almost guarantees you can get the extra Combo card and 4/4 Stealth for 4 is already good enough on its own.
Self-Sharpening Sword - Rogue Arena Review
Self-Sharpening Sword by AbusingKel
Excellent design on this card. Cost is weak on the turn you play it but it gains momentum and provides value by scaling as you need it to turn by turn. Definitely want to try this out. I think it will perform quite well, especially if you can buff the weapon.
Self-Sharpening Sword by Boozor
Reasonable power output but slow. Can be good with buffs.
Self-Sharpening Sword by sinti
This weapon is a bit awkward, it essentially becomes on par with 4 mana weapons, but it will take you three turns to get there. The final value is certainly good for its cost, but you might need to plan ahead.
Coerce - Rogue Arena Review
Coerce by AbusingKel
Whoa now... what? Hard removal at 3 mana? Sure, combo is a condition but you could coin this an kill a minion outright on turn 2. (Don't ever, EVER do that, though.)
Coerce by AbusingKel

Coerce by Boozor
Insane card for both classes. Better in Warrior due to lack of larger removal.
Coerce by sinti
You would still pick Execute, if it cost 3 mana. You would certainly pick Assassinate, if it cost 3 mana. Pick this card.
Brain Freeze - Rogue Arena Review
Brain Freeze by AbusingKel
Lightning Bolt with a slightly different downside. Unfortunately, the downside on this one may mean you don't get the 3 points of damage. Freeze on its own isn't worth drafting unless the cards alongside it are pretty terrible.
Brain Freeze by Boozor
Good cheap spell. Better in Rogue.
Cutting Class - Rogue Arena Review
Cutting Class by AbusingKel
Nice idea but heavily draft dependent. Great if you get a 4+ attack weapon but you need a few to really consider drafting this. Scholomance Academy has a good amount of draw that I think you'd be better served passing on this and hoping for those. Everybody knows cutting class isn't cool, anyway.
Cutting Class by Boozor
Like to be cost 4 mana for Rogue - Occasionally Arcane Intellect levels. Better in Warrior.
Cutting Class by sinti
Passable card draw combined with just your Hero Power, if you can get some weapon buffs, this becomes pretty great.
Vulpera Toxinblade - Rogue Arena Review
Vulpera Toxinblade by AbusingKel
Incredible card for the class. Hits the board immediately after you dagger up and is a persistent ability. Snap pick next to nearly all rogue cards.
Vulpera Toxinblade by Boozor
Nice aura effect, although it shouldn't stay alive for long. Decent turn 3 after turn 2 hero power.
Vulpera Toxinblade by sinti
Smaller Spiteful Smith that is active right away. Extremely powerful card and on-curve play after you use your Hero Power on T2, which as a Rogue, you usually do anyway.
Plagiarize - Rogue Arena Review
Plagiarize by AbusingKel
Quite a powerful twist to the secret mechanic we've know so long. Triggering at end of turn makes this tricky to play around and can definitely force your opponent into sub-optimal plays. I am going to get crushed by this card... I still forget mage's flame ward from time to time. Sometimes, I forget.
Plagiarize by Boozor
Situational secret - it's hard to get value from this but might be good in the late game when mana is available.
Plagiarize by sinti
This card will probably have some variance in how much value will it provide, I dont think that your opponent will be in a position often, where they can just play nothing and have you waste a card. Tho you dont really want to play this on T2 and the longer you wait, the easier is to play around that. Still should provide decent value at least 1for1 and added bonus as having your opponent guess which secret it is.
Wand Thief - Rogue Arena Review
Wand Thief by AbusingKel
Is it a 1 drop? No, and it's a bit tricky in that regard. Discovering a mage spell is an excellent ability and you get to do so for a low cost with a body attached. There's little to complain about, it's a very good card.
I think it will be even trickier in rogue decks since these low cost cards are often looked at as triggers for the other combo cards in hand.
Wand Thief by Boozor
Nice combo card for a value discover. 1 Drops are also solid in Rogue as well to combo other cards. It gives Rogue access to AOE and huge burst potential which is scary.
Wand Thief by sinti
The Combo part makes this a bit awkward, you can't just slap it down on T1, but other than that, this is a great card generator. Definitely something you want either as Mage or Rogue.
