Honestly, i don't like it. We shouldn't, as a community, advocate for those types of hero cards, with no downsides at all. What made Jaraxxus great gameplay-wise was the incredible downside he used to have, like this is just a matter of whoever draws it. It snowballs infinitely, and infinite resources are a real issue in hearthstone
My understanding is, for cards that got changed, the changed version is the only thing that's available in standard or wild, and the original version is available in classic.
If they wanted both versions to be available, they'd give a new name to the new card and leave the old card in wild, the way there's Deathwing in Classic and Wild, and Deathwing the Destroyer in Core.
AIUI, if you don't have it in your collection, you can use it for free in all modes (classic, standard, wild) as long as it's in core, and if it leaves core you'd have to craft it to play it in wild or classic. Not 100% sure about that, though--you might have to own it to use it in classic?
Looking at the page on PlayHearthstone.com, it lists "INFERNO!" under "related cards", which is the old familiar 2-mana "summon a 6/6 infernal". But the page may be showing some out-of-date info, it lists "cost to craft/disenchant" and you don't need to craft core cards? (Unless you need to craft it if you want to play the classic version in classic mode?) Something to watch, I guess.

This new version is so insanely busted it's disgusting. Guess I'm a warlock player now.

so it's better early and worse late. overall, i think it's an improvement and control warlock will find a slot for him.
Do we know what his new hero power is?
