Masquerade Rogue

So you want to be a rogue? A true rogue only reveal themselves for the lethal blow. A true spy can stay calm and undercover even when the odds are against them. Thanks Blizzard this expansion we got Maestra of the Masquerade to enable our fantasy of disguising ourselves to be someone else (other class).

Main gameplan: This deck is basically mid-range curvestone (play on curve). You stall the aggro match up with early taunts, come late-game you drop the big bomb and try to end the game. Every game will be a journey on its own. There is never two same mission. We have to be able to adapt to the situation at hand.

*Bonus point:

1. You reveal yourself at the last moment before you kill the opponent by playing either Maestra of the Masquerade or Wicked Stab (Rank 1). These three are the only rogue cards in the deck to blow your cover.

2. You die while still maintaining your cover (the other class) because you are loyal to your kingdom and you want to keep your secret information safe (obviously it doesn't really matter but remember you want to be a true rogue, right).

The cards:

The deck seems to be filled with many legendaries but fear not, the majorities are either from the core set or mini-set (if you buy them).

- Encumbered Pack Mule, Death's Head Cultist : these are the main anti-aggro tools. The pack mule is interesting because if you don't have it at mulligan, it double itself making it 2 card for 1 slot. Flightmaster Dungar can also be used to heal yourself, essentially stall the game hopefully.

- Pandaren Importer, Venomous Scorpid, Onyx Magescribe : these are the cards that will generate spells based on our corresponding class. Because we change class from rogue, the pandaren importer will basically just discover us a spell. Remember to save a spell to activate the onyx spellburst. We do have Archdruid Naralex and later Ysera the Dreamer for some additional spells.

- Manafeeder Panthara, Cornelius Roame, Varian, King of Stormwind : these are our draw engines. I know we rogues are supposed to be able to draw fast, but remember we are in disguise. The two legendaries also provide a somewhat big body on the board. 2/3 cards in the deck are below 4-mana so you can play them comfortably if you have Cornelius at play.

- Darkmoon Dirigible, Impatient Shopkeep : these are our way of contesting the board. We also got Overlord Runthak to rush the enemy while buffing our hand. The shopkeep "tradeable" also gives us some flexibility when we are searching for other cards. And ofcourse these cards can enhance and be drawn by "Our King" (Varian, King of Stormwind).

- Kazakus, Golem Shaper, Mutanus the Devourer, Cairne Bloodhoof, and the sisters Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Ysera the Dreamer : These are our values and potential game-winning threat. We clear the 4-mana slot for Kazakus. Cairne is a solid midrange minion (albeit slow). Mutanus is just well, Mutanus. And the dragon sisters provide us with burst (or heal), additional cards, and big body on the board.

Thank you for reading this guide. This deck is created by a person who likes to role-play. I wish you all good luck on your mission, and may you come home safely to tell the tale.

played a variant of this with a vanessa van cleef. Worked excellent against questlines. Fun to play. Wait for the quest to complete and copy their reward.

Cool, which rewards is the most fun to copy? I guess blightborn tamsin isn't that useful.

I know that you want to surprise your opponent... But why? For a random hero power every game? And yet the deck looks ambitious.

Hahaha it's for living out the rogue fantasy for ourselves the player, mate. While also still trying to win, hopefully.
