Deck Overview

Mech Paladin has been decent ever since its inception the Boomsday Project, and it continues to be a solid choice in Saviours of Uldum. Although most builds revolve around resurrecting giant mechs with Kangor's Endless Army, this cheaper list utilizes Mecharoo and Replicating Menace to swarm the board fast and hard. We can stay in the game longer thanks to our value cards (Mechano-Egg and Blessing of Wisdom) and finish off our opponent before they have time to stabilize.

Mulligan

Unlike most aggro decks, we are looking for one specific card: Galvanizer. This little guy might not look like much, but in combination with other low-cost mechs we can consistently summon at least 3 minions on turn 2! He's essential in every matchup, so hard mulligan for him and Crystology every game. Seriously, there's almost never a reason not to.

In the games where you don't draw one of those 4 cards, you're going to be at a severe disadvantage. Still, the game's not lost yet. If you can get Mecharoo out early and combo him with Glow-Tron or Bronze Gatekeeper, you might be able to stay in the game long enough for your big threats to come online (Wargear, Missile Launcher).

Matchups

Aggro - How you fare depends heavily on what you have in your opening hand. Most of them can't deal with an early Bronze Gatekeeper or Annoy-o-Module, so if you can get those on the board on turn 2 or 3 you'll be in a good spot. After that, refill your hand with Crystology and Blessing of Wisdom and go face. They'll spend all their resources trying to remove your stuff, and as long as you keep magnetizing big guys onto your main mech you should be fine. Keep in mind that if they do clear the board you have almost no way of coming back, so make smart trades if you have to.

Control - This is where Replicating Menace and Mechano-Egg really shine. You can afford to wait a turn to set up a bigger Galvanizer play, so do that if you're able. On turns 3-4 you'll want to get one more big guy magnetized before you start spacing out the mechs, because all it takes is one silence effect and you lose. Mechano-Egg and SN1P-SN4P are great to play alongside your main threat, as they're very board clear-resistant and a pain to remove.

Improving the Deck - Card Swaps

Zilliax - An excellent way to get back in the game, Zilliax is possibly the best card of all time. Use him to gain a ton of life back with a popped Mechano-Egg, or just play him on turn 5 to remove something on board. If you have him, put him in over a Missile Launcher.

Kangor's Endless Army - Amazing card, gives this deck an endgame that you can't really substitute with anything else. Keep in mind that you'll probably want to cut Replicating Menace and Mecharoo if you put this in, otherwise they'll ruin the rez pool.

Glowstone Technician - He's great at what he does, but I'd only put him in if you have Kangor's Endless Army. Otherwise he's a little too slow in this deck. Take out 2 Replicating Menace for these guys.

Call to Adventure - Again, this card is too slow without Kangor's. With it, however, you can make a huge low-cost mech to play in the mid-game. 1 mana give a friendly mech +3/+3 and rush? Seems fair. Swap two copies of this with our Mecharoos to increase consistency.

Cannot recommend Zilliax enough. The amount of play the card has gotten over the past year has proven it a worthy craft.

Mech Paladin tons of fun though, its so great to see a starter version that can evolve.
