We've got a brand new event in Hearthstone's Mercenaries game mode and it's here only for a limited-time! This time, we'll venture into many dangerous Bounty zones with the aid of Y'Shaarj, the strongest Old God (as well as the first to die in World of Warcraft), which already made its appearance in Hearthstone in Whispers of the Old Gods with Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound.

Our journey won't be in search of just fame and success, but you'll be able to complete a set of 10 event Tasks, which will reward you coins for Y'shaarj and many other goodies.

Here are all the tasks that are available during the Y'Shaarj Mercenaries event. Click any of the links below to visit our guide for the task.

  10. Visions of Conquest

As you can see, these tasks are quite the mixed bag: while some are fairly simple to complete, others require more than a bit of thinking (and luck: that one's always welcome) and planning ahead.

Moreover, certain tasks clearly state that you need Comps consisting of Mercenaries belonging to specific races in order for your progresses to count: while the N'Zoth event was about Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and Murlocs, this time you'll need the help of Humans and Pirates!

Not all challenges might be as difficult as they seem at a glance: there are usually tips and tricks to be found to make everyone's lives easier. In this series of guides we'll take a look at how to complete each event Task, so that you'll be able to get your hands on all the rewards available. As of now, we'll focus our attention on the current task.

How to Complete the "You're a Kid Now" Task from the Y'Shaarj Event

    • Requirement: Complete Heroic N'Zoth Bounty with all your Mercs alive in Sunken City.
    • Game Mode: Heroic
    • Rewards: 100 Y'Shaarj coins.
    • Difficulty: 3/5

In order for us to complete You're a Kid Now, beating Heroic N'Zoth won't be enough, as we'll have to do so while not letting any of our Mercenaries die. We can build our comp so that it will be hard for us to have any casualties, but luck definitely plays an important role in tasks like this one. Just as a reminder, this doesn't mean that we cannot have any Mercs die throughout the bounty, since we can bring them back to life before we get to the final boss, courtesy of the Spirit Healer node.

As for the final fight itself, it is basically going to be what we described for Fight Fire with Fire, but with a bit more stats in play.

In fact, N'Zoth will appear on the board together with a 20/150 Psychus: just like for the normal bounty, these two units have specific interactions that will take place throughout the entire fight, but we'll get to them in a moment. First, aura effects and abilities.

Heroic N'Zoth will appear as a 15/300 Caster (up from 10/250),  Immune to any form of damage as long as Psychus is on the board, meaning that you'll have to take down the latter in order to get to the former. Moreover, even if you manage to kill Psychus, N'Zoth can always bring it back with Psychic Shell (although, for some reason, the new Psychus will have the stats reduced to 15/100).

In addition, N'Zoth has an aura that lets it summon three 15/15 Spawns with Rush at the start of each turn, which can be followed by either Mindgrasp, Mass Hysteria {0} or the aforementioned Psychic Shell.

Heroic Psychus is a bit tougher than its Normal self: its stats are increased to 20/150 and, although it grants Immunity to N'Zoth, it has a Deathrattle that inflicts 50 damage to the Old God.

In order to complete this bounty, you'll need a decent amount of resilience, as you'll have to deal with powerful abilities on top of 45/45 worth of Immune stats that will rain on your Mercenaries at the start of each turn.

For this reason, we recommend a slow but steady approach, that aims to solidify the control of the board and then get rid of the enemies, rather than race them down. Keep in mind that losing even just one friendly Mercenary will have you fail You're a Kid Now, and we don't want that to happen.

    Suggested Comps

Here are a few Mercenaries parties you can use to complete the "You're a Kid Now" task. You'll be able to choose between many comps, suggested by different content creators, as well as mentions of budget alternatives for our readers that don't have many Legendary Mercs in their collection.

Out of Cards Recommendation - Holy Comp

Differently from Fight Fire with Fire, we're not bound to build a party with just Humans anymore, so we have a lot more flexibility. We deduced to keep the Holy shell we used back then, but to implement it with powerful units like Tyrael and Prophet Velen in order to create a more flexible party.

The team you see above includes both Yrel and Lord Slitherspear, but just their third equipment can be unlocked by completing the N'Zoth Heroic Bounty, but we never really used them. If you want an actual 6-Mercs-comp, then you may want to you what you see below.

To prove this comp of being fit for this task, we actually recorded a video showing you that you can pull this off with ease.

Here are a few tips for those unfamiliar with this strategy.

Out of Cards Budget Recommendation - Dragon Comp

If you need to deal lots of damage to a Caster without your characters to die, then Sinestra and Nefarian are what you're looking for.

    • Final fight trio is Sinestra-Nefarian-Yu'lon.
    • For the climb, you can either use the Nature or the Dragon comp, based on what you're up against.
    • For the Nature comp, try to get as many Nature Spell Damage buffs as possible.
    • If you play Guff Runetotem, make sure to always activate Guff's Living Brambles 1's Nature Combo - it's just that good.
    • It's worth noting that Yu'lon has some Nature synergy.
    • Although [Hearthstone Card (Pearl of yu'lon 4) Not Found] is great to protect your other Dragons, Lady Anacondra is a valid alternative.
