I'm playing mech mage because that's the deck I got the pieces for in my 50 packs. I could see the shark getting a nerf but think the issue is the synergy, small pool for discover, and the cost reduction. It's one of those decks that's immediately strong and there isn't one standout problem card. I'm definitely seeing mech mage more than any other decks. Not seeing it as a big problem to start, though. It's just easy, efficient, and relatively cheap to craft/build.
R5 Diamond is ~50% Druid for me right now. All the aggro is way more fun since there's a decent chance to beat it. T5 2x Cenarion Ward shenanigans is even worse (and more consistently reliable) than T5 Kazakusan bullshit. Once again ramp druid proves there's nothing less fun than mana cheating.
I know I'm not getting the screen shots and other requirements right. No worries on the credit for runs.
I'm in this for the challenge of building a deck based on requirements/restrictions. It forces me to try different things and is fun! It's also cool to see what other are doing. Thanks for running these.
Botched the pics again... TIL that screenshot won't include the HSDT overlay. lol
This deck was really fun. 10-3 finish thanks to the insane treasures I was offered. Mummy Magic and Wax Rager are rude AF in a DR build that is fairly light to start. I had back to back games that were just brutal starts for my opponents when I dropped Hunter's Insight on T1 and reduced Undertaker & a choice DR minion for an explosive start. Two other games where Wax Rager came out on curve and ran away with the games.
Much better result with an Awaken the Makers priest build. I was too slow with the final screenshot. Got destroyed by a Paladin with Disks of Legend and dropped my all-time favorite minion: Kel'Thuzad! He just started recycling Tirion Fordring... I couldn't even get mad about it. lol
The full moon has pushed me to... lunacy. Stalagg and Feugen? Hell yes! Posting my deck image to keep a spot warm. Will add the final results and other images once I get under way.
Welp... that was quick. Is there a consolation prize for a lame AF 0-3 run?
Game 1 vs. QLMage playing few minions. Lucked into a fireball generated by RNG to close it out. Game 2 vs. QLHunter playing no minions. Dead on turn 5. Fun. Game 3 vs. HPMage that played a turn 8 Mordresh Fire Eye followed by a turn 9 Mordresh Fire Eye.
Starting decklist in pictures. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the 8 mana slot... until I saw Violet Wurm! I played on my phone and the only thing I have is the final match on HSReplay which doesn't even show the win/loss totals. Oops. You can see the final decklist in the replay. It was not great.
No worries, in it for the fun, not the site gold. I'll try to create this deck in heroic if I get a chance. I think it could do well... I just got terrible choices in treasures (aside from Cannibalism) and bundles throughout. Think I went 4 or 5 wins, it was pretty poor.
I'm out for a while. Aggro vs Quests that are completed and then auto win by turn 6/7 just isn't fun.
The quests are even worse in wild. Hunter/Mage/Warlock over and over and ALL 3 cycle through their entire deck. It feels like a repeat of the busted decks that abused Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
The Demon Seed needs to lose lifesteal. Warlock has too much life gain to make the self-pain matter much.
Either way, the meta doesn't feel good at all. When combo decks are closing out games prior to turn 8 it makes the deck choices binary and that's boring AF.
2 days in and I'm already out. lol. I keep facing the same 2 decks (QLock & QMage) and they are both completely stupid. Cycle through everything, discount everything, SD for mage and constant heals for lock while doing so. Neither need to reach turn 8, ever.
I suspect they'll see auto-concedes similar to what caused them to nerf priest a month ago.
It appears Garrote Rogue has entered the competition to beat Mage for position of best single player deck.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we get a hotfix nerf for both of those decks within a week. I don't think we've ever had a meta were combo decks are faster at killing you than the actual aggro decks.
At least garrote may actually be a bug because the bleeds for some reason works with spell damage.
I think so too because I read on reddit that JAlexander said that the bleeds don't work with Spell Damage since that interaction had been removed back when Hakkar came out...but apparently Rogue doesn't care about the rules.
Either way, I suspect that even without the bonus spell damage that deck still remains a festering cancer. It's just gonna draw through it's entire deck regardless and the spell damage shenanigans will help the burn spells in hand while Cloak of Shadows makes you practically invulnerable. Maybe Auctioneer should have been yeeted from the Core set altogether...
How awesome would it be if the dev team left it that way for class identity reasons? lol
Mage & Warlock quest are the two that seem really awful. Lock has too much built in healing. Mage has too much burn for the combination of +3 spell damage AND cost reduction (yet again we see how bad Incanter's Flow is) to be healthy.
Hunter's quest seems good but not totally busted but it's still early. Rogue's quest is really fun and quite solid, but also not broken. I've been playing Rogue in standard and love it. Thankfully it's good there, since I tried it in Duels and it was terrible.
I'm surprised I have not come across tons of token druid. I thought that would be a real pain in the ass with the tools that were added.
Definitely needs support to be revealed in upcoming cards. A neutral heal for a hand-mage deck I've always tinkered with in wild is a welcome addition, though.
I hit level 100 earlier this week; currently at 108. Pretty smooth sailing with the purchased pass.
I chose to go with the Tavern pass and NO pre-order to see how that felt as far as gold earnings, pack earnings, and overall collection speed. I think it definitely kept the gold flowing well, and I was able to maintain a 3000+ balance despite not doing so well in Duels over the last 6 weeks. My collection and pack earnings seemed fine, as well. Though it's important to mention I have a massive build up of dust since I've been playing so long so I have the freedom to dust cards and craft epic or legendary cards as needed to round out any deck I want to play.
As a few mentioned already, the standard meta is pretty stale. I'm sick of playing vs. paladins with cards that have above-curve power levels in every mana slot. I have been ranking up in wild this month using ConcernedMom's Ragnaros deck, though I've worked in 2x Thrive in the Shadows to improve the chances to get copies of Shadow Essence.
I purchased the pass. I will have less time to play now that it's spring and my kids have started sports again. I'll be curious to see what I hit this time with less lockdown time spent playing.
The cosmetics and quicker climb seem like a nice value so far.
Looking like I'll hit 250 by the time it is done. Definitely more gold (though I've been spending it without tracking it) and tons of packs along the way (mostly thanks to Duels). I am 2 legendary minions and one Hysteria (dusted when nerfed, only got one back) short of a full collection for DMF. No other set has come that close, though my time spend playing has been way up due to pandemic life (or lack thereof).
First run of the new season, first ever 12 win duels run for me. There's only one thing to do in a moment like this.
My Royal Mukla Duels Paladin deck has been my favorite for duels. It was a work in progress from that original list, with big improvements (Echoing Ooze & Soggoth the Slitherer) coming in thanks to Avalon's great duels articles, and it got some serious love with the new rotation. Turns out Ragnaros the Firelord is pretty good. With a nod to Elise the Trailblazer and the good luck I had with treasures and buckets, it was a very lopsided run. The only loss was this brutal beatdown by a god-hand Shaman.

In from the starting gun!
Decklist number one is a Soul Fragment deck with only Shadow spells.
Currently 2-1.., lost to a 3 mana, 12 point burst turn by a priest with Fireshaper and the embrace/heal combo. I'll update as I go.
NOTE: Power Overwhelming is in my deck, NOT Wicked Whispers. It was not available in the deckbuilder b/c it's HoF.
5-2 at the moment. recycling and Battle totem have been solid. The losses were ugly lol.
When is this card going to be fixed? I'm really sick of the BS in wild where it's coined out and immediately followed by a zero mana 6/6 taunt.
I know I'm not getting the screen shots and other requirements right. No worries on the credit for runs.

On the day the article was published, I jumped right in and built a modified version of my favorite Duels build, Token Demon Hunter.
I believe I'm 4-0 but haven't gone back to it since that day. :(
My mission tonight is to get back to the game, finish the run, get the screenshots uploaded, and submit an actual entry! Wish me luck.

Hmmm... will the flavor text and voice lines will be a nod Tina Turner's Private Dancer or to Elton John's Tiny Dancer? My money is on the former.
I'm your private mailbox dancer, a dancer for money
And any old music will do
