Does this card double Artificer Xy'mox’s battlecry? I assume not, since it says “relic you play”, which would not ordinarily affect spells cast by other means (like a minion’s battlecry), but I thought I’d ask
YouTuber OldGuardian always posts regular and budget guides for all Mercenaries bounties and all special event tasks, so that's the first place I'd go for solutions. He has a playlist up already:
Apologies if this is a dumb question -- do the two shades get the *same* deathrattle? (Both cast the most recent Shadow spell?) Or is it the last *two* Shadow spells, and each shade casts one of them?
Per the devs, if the original is on the board, you’ll steal it. If it’s a sigil/secret/quest, theirs will be destroyed (you can’t steal it since you can’t have two of the same). If it’s a weapon, you play your copy then it’s immediately destroyed and replaced by the original.
But you can’t steal hero cards if they’ve already been played, sorry….
Summary: Remornia keeps all stats and enchantments when she changes forms, even enchantments like Taunt that don’t make sense for a weapon—in that case the taunt has no effect while she’s a weapon, but it works again when she swaps back to being a minion.
And they're all class legendaries (10 total), from across the Shadowlands, i.e. the World of Warcraft afterlife -- so, very likely to be characters we've seen before who are dead in Warcraft lore (like Vashj and Olgra).
If I am right, this may mean we'll see a strong synergy between the class legendary "suspect" and their covenant ability -- like Wave triggering Vashj's "don't transform, summon" mechanic.
I tried that, but of course that means fewer Fel cards to trigger Metamorfin. I’m wondering about Eye Beam—it’s 1-mana on draw and can maybe get through a taunt, but of course “lifesteal, minions only” isn’t a great match for an aggro deck.
I'm not clear how this secret works with Colossal minions, which spawn their appendages no matter how they're summoned.
i.e. Other player kills my Colossal. A new one is summoned, and is dormant. Are its appendages: (a) Summoned right away, and usable right away? (b) Summoned right away, but made dormant, like the main card? (c) Not summoned until the main card wakes up, next turn?
I'm guessing it's (a), based on the behavior of dormant cards with a battlecry (like The Darkness), which trigger their battlecries when they're played, not when they awaken. But of course, Colossal's effect isn't exactly a battlecry, so I'm not sure.
The Dormant keyword was added in Year of the Phoenix (specifically, for Ashes of Outland), but the mechanic already existed for some earlier cards (like Un'Goro's Sherazin, Corpse Flower and Kobold & Catacombs' The Darkness), so they went back and added the keyword to those cards. (Which they don't usually do -- e.g. they didn't go back and add the recruit keyword to other "summon from deck" cards.)
And since, right from the start, Dormant was in more than one card set, it looks like they've felt free to keep adding it later on.
We have confirmation from Blizz (John McIntyre, Battlegrounds lead designer) that—following the precedent of Patches the Pirate—Naga Corsair will belong to the Pirate tribe but not the Naga tribe.
Re. pirate nagas, for Mercenaries, they made it a rule that if a merc is tagged as "pirate" that overrides all other affiliations. So, "bonus to humans" buffs don't apply to Edwin or Vanessa Van Cleef, etc. (And since they tagged Cookie as "Murloc", he doesn't get pirate buffs.)
Doesn't guarantee they'll use the same rule for the main Hearthstone game, but anyway, there's precedent.
Yep, Death does get discounted—saw it in a game.

Hearthstone Mercenaries - C'thun Event (OldGuardian)
It's already got guides for tasks 1-4 and he should be adding the other tasks the days they're available.

A Hearthstone dev answered a lot of questions in this Twitter thread:

Just FYI -- you say,
I think you're mistaken. Primordial Wave is the Necrolord Shaman ability, and they've already revealed Baroness Vashj (necrolord shaman) and Primordial Wave (her covenant spell).
Yep, I got the freebie completion. I'll take it if they give it, or if they make me go back and try again I will...

So, what’s the best replacement now that Multi-Strike costs 2? Any thoughts?

Related: Sunken Vessel
And note that the four “basic totems” are 1-cost minions, so they’ll be buffed by this. Is nice!
