I designed a little Fel based Control Demon Hunter. It utilizes the new Fel stuff, Soul Fragments, and the new draw oger to control the board so you can eventually burn down your opponent with Jace Darkweaver. The deck guide was a lot of fun to write so I hope you all enjoy reading it! I'm excited that a slower Demon Hunter archetype received support and hope it turns out alright.

Subject 9, Scrapyard Colossus, Fungalmancer, and Lazy Peon all could be very restricting in an evergreen set. Besides that, the total removal of charge is a bad idea. It's a core keyword and I believe it should exist in some shape or form. The basic set is also supposed to have a few bad cards to teach players the strengths and weaknesses a card could have. Silverback is supposed to be compared to Grizzly to teach that Health isn't the only important stat in a Taunt minion, Magma Rager is supposed to demonstrate the importance of balanced stats on an aggressive minion.

You guys remember Heal Zoo with Happy Ghoul? I'm starting to think that Warlock/Priest might do a bit of that.

Gadgetzan is probably my favorite Hearthstone expansion in relation to themes (not a big fan of the balance). I've actually been working on a sequel to it as well but love seeing someone else tackle the concept.

In regards to your expansion I feel that the balance is pretty off, many of the cards seem very weak or so random they're unplayable Gadgetzan Citizen, Shady Salesman, and Big ol' Bouncer stick out in the neutral set. Class cards like Dragon Training, Legion Dreadstinger, Nightbloom Druid, and more are also super weak. I think you might need to compare a lot of your set with sets in Hearthstone to find similar effects to balance your cards around.

Dragon Training can be compared to give Taunt cards, Sparring Partner and Ancestral Healing let you target the minion you want to give Taunt and come with a bonus. Nightmare Amalgam has vanilla stats. Spreading minions between two bodies, like in Nightbloom Druid's case means you usually get stats higher than vanilla Shrubadier, Landscaping, and  Former Champ.

Also I didn't really feel the Gadgetzan or business flavor throughout most of the class sets. They just seem to be themed around a minion type and their own class. What are all these water elementals doing in gadgetzan? Why is there a raptor from Un'goro here? Your cards need to tell a story and I'm not getting one from them.

Here are a couple designs I came up with in a couple minutes.

Invest a lot of Mana and lose a bunch of tempo to set up a combo or clear on a later turn.

Something to round out the Totem Shaman archetype that's been very loosely pushed throughout the past few expansions.

10 Imprisoned minions but no Shaman

I thought it was strange that all classes received an Imprisoned "Demon" besides Shaman.

So as a fun little challenge I want to see what you guys can come up with for an imprisoned Demon for Shaman!

I feel like this is being slept on. It might not work now but I know this will be a great card later, it just has so many opportunities to be great.

Any deck that summons small copies of big minions wants this, Quest Paladin or cards like Mirage Caller.

    Egg/Token Deathrattle Decks.

It even works great against Doomsayer!

Right now I can only see it being slot into Quest Paladin and the new Beast Hunter. I'm really interested in this card and would love to hear other places people think this can go.

I love the art on this card, especially the token, but I don't see it being any good. You can run it in Plot Twist/Quest Warlock but that deck isn't getting many tools and is losing Dollmaster Dorian who's a core part of the deck.

This set has a little theme in big statted Deathrattle minions that give you even more stats, Cursed Vagrant, Coilfang Warlord, Disguised Wanderer, Scrapyard Colossus.

Compared to the others this card just doesn't offer a lot of Attack and Health.

I can't see this being good. Sure if you don't have any minions on board it's Holy Smite, which is super efficient, but even the slow Warlock decks have minions. This card needs at least two good eggs with 3 or less Health or else it's dead in the water.

Do Warlocks even want 1 Mana deal 3 to a minion these days? I don't think it's really in their strategy.

Super cool set with a lot of neat mechanics. I feel like they're all things I could see in Hearthstone, mechanically.

But I do have to say the balance and flavor seems a bit off.

Expansions normally have a bit of a story to them while this kinda feels like you want to far into the "Blast from the Past" theme.

Cards are ridiculously efficient, even something like Blackrock Defender is overstatted and has the upside of giving you an overstatted 1-Drop. There's a lot of cards like that in this set.

But I do think you have a lot of super cool designs and really appreciate the work that must've gone into this.

This is very interesting but having all of these vastly different ideas and gamemodes in one place is super cluttered, and clutter is something Blizzard is trying to avoid at all costs.

I think it's better if we start 1 at a time, tournament mode would probably be the first one we should go for in my opinion.

Another problem is splitting the playerbase, the game already has issues with wait times in Wild Legend. Adding this many extra gamemodes and ways to split up the game will do nothing but exasperate that problem.

We just got Battlegrounds as well, that's a full gamemode with its own team and updates. It'll probably be a while before they can consider adding a new one.

Chi-Ji seems pretty crazy +1/+1 to Healbot for 7 extra Health, guaranteed since it turns to Armor as well.

I personally can understand what it does but I too didn't understand how we can buff it. Only with handbuff like Armagedillo and the others like your Enigmatic Machination ? Because all of other guys will buff C'Thun instead.

I would like to see some cards that buffs C'BOOM when it is in the deck but its ok i guess, It looks like there are enough support to make it 10/10

The best way to buff C'BOOM! is through handbuffs as that is the deck it was made to be placed in. Tentacles for Armor and Enigmatic Machination are cards in this set that can both help push C'BOOM! over 10 Attack.

Because C'BOOM! also has Rush you can buff it with Akali, the Rhino which should be fun.

    Quote From ARES

Looks really good and I love the C'thun support  for hunter. Having tried Emeriss+C'thun hunter, I must say that would've been useful.

Im confused by C'boom though.. how is it buffed and does it give one of each existing lackey? One of each played lackey? Those on board?

I gave C'BOOM! Rush so that if its condition is not met it can still have some impact. Each existing Lackey is added to your hand.

I'm not sure of a better wording for C'BOOM!'s effect, so if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Dawn of Desolation has now been revamped!

A bunch of cards have been changed and the presentation is snazzier than ever!

Sadly this means the Imgur albums are not up to date, but I'll make new ones soon.

    Shepherd of Spirits         to          Voidshrieker

Shepherd of Spirits has been replaced with Voidshrieker.

After mulling it over and listening to some suggestions I've come to the conclusion that the Shepherd doesn't fit the rest of the expansion very well.

Voidshrieker comes in with a crazy unique effect, it's entirely immune to your spells! This means that Voidshrieker will come out of Twisting Nethers and Plagues of Death unscathed! (With the added bonus of restoring itself to full Health)

Thank you for the kind words!

I've decided to change the following cards in Dawn of Desolation.

All cards that I've changed that are not listed here were changed to fix wording.

Boiling Elemental          to          New Boiling Elemental

Boiling Elemental to 4 Health, down from 5.

    Show Spoiler
As a card which ramps up in power each turn Boiling Elemental was a bit too efficient as a 2/5. At 4 Health the opponent will get more chances to deal with the Elemental before it begins making super-efficient trades.

Blood Frenzied Behemoth          to         Brood Keeper

Blood Frenzied Behemoth replaced with Brood Keeper

    Show Spoiler
Blood Frenzied Behemoth was too boring and provided neutral classes with a massive Lifesteal minion. I decided I wasn't comfortable with providing a Neutral top-end G'huun package and wanted players to focus on their class Lifesteal minions. Brood Keeper is an entirely different card but I prefer it wholly. It provides a unique effect that gives Dragon decks two Dragons for any of their Dragon needs!

Visceral Elemental          to         New Visceral Elemental

Visceral Elemental to 2 Attack, down from 3.

    Show Spoiler
I felt Visceral Elemental was too efficient in token decks at 3 Attack, this nerf won't make the card feel worse to play while still making it easier to deal with and trade into.

Swamp Claw          to         New Swamp Claw

Swamp Claw now costs 4 Mana and Overloads for 1, up from 3 Mana and Overload down from 2.

    Show Spoiler
I decided to switch one Overload from Swamp Claw to its upfront cost in order to slow down its effect on the game. By all means is Swamp Claw still a super strong card, but I believe this change will stop it from immediately blowing the opponent out of the water.

Revan the Maelstrom          to         New Boiling Elemental

Revan the Maelstrom now has 4 Attack, up from 3.

    Show Spoiler
Revan the Maelstrom originally had 4 Attack, I changed it last second out of fear of Overload Shaman. However, I think giving Revan an extra Attack is entirely fair and better aligns with the rest of the set's power level. I'm still worried that Revan might cause a few too many "feels bad" endings to games.

Tentacles for Armor          to          New Tentacles for Armor

Tentacles for Armor now casts again after the buffed minion's death, from casting again after the buffed minion is played.

    Show Spoiler
Switching when Tentacles for Armor recasts cleans up the card while also reducing its snowball potential. Forcing the player to wait before getting their buff train going seems like a healthy change to the card's power level.

    C'BOOM!          to          NEW C'BOOM!

C'BOOM! now has Rush and Taunt, from just having Taunt.

    Show Spoiler
Increasing C'BOOM!'s power level whilst keeping its effect and statline was tough, but in the end, I'm very happy with how it turned out. Besides making C'BOOM! feel better to play without its condition, Rush also allows [Hearthstone Card (Akali the Rhino) Not Found] to bring C'BOOM! up past 10 Attack.

Dawn of Desolation is a 135 card expansion I designed to look into an alternate reality where Lazul betrays the League of EVIL to bring about the Old Gods.

The League of EVIL has laid waste to the land and incapacitated some of its most powerful heroes. With Lazul's powerful clairvoyance leading them on their way, the League of EVIL finds themselves in the crypt of a powerful long dead being. If they can turn the power of the Old Gods to be on their side, nothing will stand in the way of Rafaam! (And the others)

But these ancient powers have something else in my mind. For Lazul doesn't wish to subdue and control her old master... she wants to release them.
Five villains enter the crypt and only Lazul leaves, but with her comes an unimaginable horror and certain doom for Azeroth.

Before the Hour of Twilight comes the Dawn of Desolation.

All 135 cards, complete with description (besides the neutral commons) and flavor text, are located in the following Google Slides Presentation.

Also included is some more information about special cycles and mechanics!

Thanks a ton for checking out my expansion!

    I hope you enjoy!

I'll be creating an Imgur album tomorrow for everyone who wants to see the expansion without any of the descriptions or extra content.
