I really like my patriot deck with this location. Maybe because I finally got him near collection level 3000 or maybe because of brood (not in the list btw, but very viable with this location) and mr. Sinister...

Anyway patriot into Mystique into Ultron is pretty fun

IDK how to upload an image; triple onslaught with iron man gets you 2 TRILLION

    Wow very nice!

Wow, 2 trillion. That's 2^31, which is the max 32bit integer value in programming.

I wonder if the math actually checks out to reach the 32 needed for the computation.

Yeah it's difficult to wrap my mind on this one as onslaught double gets doubled by the other onslaught, which als gets doubled by the first, so the first onslaught gets his ability doubled again etc...   There is probably sort of an easy ^ formula behind this, but no idea what. As iron man also doubles the score (which gets doubled, doubled, doubled etc) I can imagine something like this happening...

I got this real big score and wanted to know if any of you got this kind of result before. I'm kind of surprised about the exact height of the score even:

Question: anybody got a bigger score ever?

I'm not certain how this is for anybody else. But the mode works very badly for me. And it has a spelling mistake, talking about sending pointes instead of points. Feels like something that was (too) quickly slammed together honestly. But we are still beta so let's see...

You're right about Ultron not being a good card for this location. However, it got me thinking and I do kinda wonder if he could work in a Patriot deck - at least as long as PP is featured.

Yes that combination I thought about, but I believe you put all your eggs in one basket and as your opponent would only need to be ahead on two locations I don't see this as a great combo (also didn't see it anywhere being played)

Honestly Ultron seems like a bad suggestion as it locks you out of the game for 2 locations. Leader is very good though. I play it now in combination with my Mr. Negative deck. The earlier you can drop him the better

    Hi all Snappers,

I have been playing my so called rubbish deck:

It's core is debbri and the two goblins. Goal is to flood your opponents board as quick as possible while you use the power of the rocks with nova/kazar and Mr fantastic. I also added quake to the mix which messes with your opponent planned locations.

What do you think any suggestions/remarks? And if you decide to play it: did you have as much fun as me?

@avalon and @flux : Thanks both of you. I'm not certain how you look at this, but what about adding a "deck" forum before having the deck building in place? You might not easily create/maintain a deck, but as Snap only has 12 cards in a deck, it's not too hard to explain the "core" of a deck without a deck builder I guess.

For me personally I have some (well mostly one I guess) deck I want to share as I have not seen it yet (although it might be out there already, just not in my MMR). The deck is mostly intended to lock people out of the game.

Thanks for the response, but I believe there is also a "chicken-egg" debate to this. Maybe if this would be available you'll get more people on the site who play and at least you'll be ahead of the competition, which might be relevant when snap becomes big.

With the limited availability of the game, I know we're not missing out on a ton right now. That isn't to say that I didn't want to have a deckbuilder out day 1, we've just got so many ongoing projects on the backend that have taken priority that it's not the the works right now

I've also promised our Yu-Gi-Oh folks that they're getting their deckbuilder first since that tech has been in development for a while now. The Marvel Snap builder is going to be arriving very shortly after the Yu-Gi-Oh one goes live and will be making use of our new direction for what deckbuilders mean on Out of Cards.

Yeah priority is everything, and that one is difficult to judge from "over here" obviously. Just wanted to comment so that it is known that there are at least some people wanting this 😃

And yeah other games should not be forgotten so when the Snap one is possible after the Yu-Gi-Oh one sounds very reasonable. Thanks for the comment and good luck.

It's on the to-do- list, friend :) A deckbuilder has to be...well, built, and these things take time.

It might get pushed up the list if more people here played Snap - both members and staff - but that's unfortunately not something we can control right now, with Second Dinner's rollout being what it is.

On controlling to play there seem to be some way to play the game if you are not invited to the beta (with Android at least):

look up on YouTube khasino. He has a detailed explanation. The latest update apk can also be found online if I'm not mistaken. You will only be able to play f2p though as far as I understand.

Anyway curious to see where you guys are heading with snap.

I love this with mr. Negative. Have a bunch of X cost 0 power cards in your deck and you have some nice "burst" turn.

Most likely planned at some point, but it would be nice to have the possibility to share decks from marvel snap and talk about them. There are some people on this site who play it (I think) and it might be nice also for people not playing it to see what kind of strategies are present in snap.

So what stops a player from conceding during turn 6 when it's clear they are gonna lose? Or simply to prevent the other guy from gaining 2 cubes instead of 1? Or to cut your own losses during any point of the game?

I mean, it must be quite a bit swingy for there to be options against losing after every turn. Or a huge amount of cards, or just some binary mechanics, etc. Otherwise there's no incentive to ever finish a game, let alone risk more cubes by snapping.

At least this is the impression without playing the game. Feel free to contradict me with some examples if possible :)

Next to what sto650 mentioned: you and your opponent can snap also anywhere between t1 and 6, so at some point you might be invested to finish the game because otherwise you loose cubes. Ofcourse it's better to concede if you know for certain you'll loose, but the are some bigger plays possible t6, so judging what you and your opponent play and guess what he has in hand is a big thing.

I also feel that it's not too bad to concede early or something as the games are lot faster. Your time investment is not big per game, while in HS that is typically different (even agro games in HS tend to take a lot longer than a full snap game)

This cannot be correct. Its stats, cost, and effect are all identical to Kazar, who already exists in game.

You are right, there is no card called war machine in the game. (in filters there is an unowned filter, turning it on shows you all cards, war machine is not one of them).

Maybe they changed the name after releasing some info on the beta?

I might as well add this here. I've been playing Snap for 2 weeks now and I got to Collection Level 300. Most people think the progression is pretty bad, I think it's probably fine. It should be noted that I have not reached Pool 3 where I heard a lot more people complain about and that you should understand that getting cards become exponentially harder (literally). You could get the meta decks relatively easily even with bad luck compared to other games. The more fun decks though? Not so much. Deckbuilding feels restricted and luck plays a lot in higher collection pools.

Also, I understand that it's a beta. Nevertheless I'd say that the matchmaking system is pretty bad. They have a casual matchmaking system where the only mode is ranked. They have it where your cubes (rank) and collection level (card pool) don't matter and only your MMR matters. I think that you can easily see why this is bad but to illustrate it. I am rank 55 which is relatively in the middle, however I am facing people who have already reached the highest rank and I fight them regularly. I've faced too many people with a much higher collection pool as well with the upgraded versions of the meta decks. It gets pretty frustrating when you can't climb not because of your skill but because the game had been rigged against you before your draws. Meanwhile, streamers face bots on the regular because their MMR is literally too high to face real people. I'm curious if you guys had any similar/differing experiences.

I'm a lot lower than you rank wise (39) with a collection level of 325 or something. If you are 55 that would mean to me you are at least a lot better then me, meaning your MMR is also a lot better.

That might explain why you queue into better players or players with better collection levels because you are playing well.

So far I haven't noticed what you have noticed and deck matchups seem fine for me.

As there is not so many players yet, having a higher MMR would mean that at this moment you queue a bit unevenly. When there is (a lot) more players I would believe this would probably dissapear.

And thanks for the additions everybody to my story ;)

Can you do a more or less thorough comparison between that game and HS regarding stuff like: amount of luck needed to win a game, prevalence of random things, prevalence of controlled randomness, swinginess of turns/plays, how much skill matters, whether the game provides enough room for player skill to flourish rather than cutting it down like in HS, how they plan to deal with cards clutter in the future, etc.

And most importantly, how far/close is it to a gacha game and others that like to pray on people's weakness and whales (see the diablo immortal videos of some people where everything they are doing is explained in detail). I.e. how much pay-to-win is/will the game be?

    Thanks!

That's a pretty tall order to fill as a casual gamer ;)

I can at least say that the game is fun and interesting. What I personally like is that the game combines a relatively quick play with tactical choices.

There is some luck (as always in card games) with pulling cards, but your deck is 12 cards and you have 6 turns so chances are pretty big that you pull your important cards.

The most lucky games are related to the locations. Some will synergize with your deck, while others might not.

Adding the "poker" option of using snaps is also fun in my opinion.

Last the card collection is pretty ok for f2p I feel There is no real rarity for cards, but to get new cards you need to upgrade cards and that costs the in game currency. I am posting for about 3 weeks now and got quite some cards and several different deck building options.

All in all in now mostly playing marvel snap and hardly and hearthstone anymore, so that says quite a lot.

Snowfall Graveyard triggers all deathrattles twice, including weapons.  So Necrium Blade triggers its deathrattle when it breaks, this triggers the Naval Mine twice, and then Blade's deathrattle triggers the second time, which procs Naval mine two more times.

Similar effects have been achieved in the past with the use of either Baron Rivendare or Necromechanic which offer the same double deathrattles as well.

Ah that makes sense, thanks! Not that it helps a lot in counterplay I guess, although at least 8 damage is less of a problem than 16... It would be nice if there was a quest tech option, same as for secrets I guess 😅

I have been running into mine rogue and I have been really wondering every time I run into it why the naval mine triggers 4 times instead of 2? The quest they have on says it triggers a deathrattle 2 times and necromium blade (with which they proc the naval mine) says trigger a deathrattle...

I can't wrap my head why that combination triggers it 4 times instead of 2? Or did I miss something during play?

If you can clarify that for me it would be great as I can stop banging my head on this hehe...

Well 2 "expansions" (expansion + mini-set) my current iteration is:

It now includes the 3 card draw Naga (it won't always be possible/easy to trigger, but a 3 card draw in this deck is just too good), the 0 mana legendary priest naga (it's a nice ping enabler and otherwise it can give you some board presence + mana Vs agro) And I replaced hysteria with Drown.

I have to say the deck has now a ton of answers and feels pretty refined. I had also written (a small) guide, so if anybody would like to learn more or wants to play it. Just let me know.
