How's the game now, compared to 10 years before? Is it worth playing again?

Maybe someone can write a deep article about it.

Also, it's free to play, right? Not sure it's gonna be released to steam as free.

Rather have this as a serious game/cinematic than some stupid cartoon for kids. Just look at hearthstone.

It's not that you're wrong. You're not. The game simply lacks a clear design path. It's all over the place.

They removed the old control type because teenagers are too stupid to think for more than 3 seconds, thus leading to turn 4-6 kills.

Then they reintroduced an idea of control that is more keen to what you said. Other times, the ladder was 80% hyper aggro and early otks. Remember, face hunter will never be a bad deck :) never was, either.

So, you are right. Yet i'm also right with this being an arcade fiasco. Haven't even touched the lack of interaction between players.

It's like they stopped doing adventures and needed a way to compensate, thus making HS mostly single player. Funny...

Their design is really all over the place. Mostly rehashed ideas too. Assigning a keyword to already existing mechanics is not novelty, nor proper design.

They really need new designers there. Or simply to fire those that aren't letting the current ones do something right. No idea what's going on there, but it's being done for years.

That's exactly the reason i stopped playing years ago. I like long strategic games. Sure, i don't mind the odd quick ones here and there. But getting killed turn 4-6 is not what i call "a game". For me, the average number of turns per game should be 15, not 10.

Of course, health is the easiest to change. But considering how incompetent they are in managing power creeps (i.e. i'm definitely sure it can even be avoided, and have only slight power creep swings every few years, by adding different concepts into the game rather than something that makes the game faster or more luck-based than it already is), they'd probably botch it too.

I've said it previously - they need new designers and leads that want/are allowed to transform this into a real card game rather than an arcade fiasco.

There's always the posibility of updating older cards to match the new ones, yet, at this point, i think we're due for HS 2.0. A new game with proper new ideas. No more stupid filler cards either.

In the end, the game sucks for me, hero health increasing or not. I don't trust them anymore with anything. They clearly have a target audience of teenagers and kids, who apparently don't like to think strategically, thus they'll never do it, probably.

There's only one issue with these inventories: stack sizes.

If WoW increased it to like 5000 per slot, you wouldn't have issues in freeing up slots.

Secondly, it's the hoarding mentality of people, not willing to disband whatever crap items they will probably never use. Or their inability to categorize items in bags/bank so they can be easily found.

I know, it's not impossible, it just takes a lot of time. But the sense of "order" that one feels at the end is priceless.

Will there ever be an expansion when nothing is leaked before?

    This is getting stupid.

If you are interested in a new(ish) formula for strategy games you should check out Great War: Western Front. I really enjoyed it and I found the swap between tile based strategy to real time tactical command was really rewarding.

Thanks, it looks interesting i have to say. Haven't really played WW1 games (due to lack of tanks :D ), but i'll really consider it. At least i found some steam keys at 13euros.

How's the replayability? Or is it a one hit wonder?

Having fun with Charrua Soccer for a while. Still sad about having a burnout on strategy games after leaving JA3 and Baldur's gate unfinished. Thinking about Starfield but i'm afraid it's gonna be a (repetitive) disappointment like No man's sky was.

Sad to hear it's mostly scripted. Might be a deal breaker for me.

Are there random maps / skirmish and such?

    Hi,

I'm a bit curious about the configuration of the forum threads.

It seems that any update (like banning a bot and deleting the spam post) will make them appear in the recent threads, even though the last post is from years ago.

So my question is:  is it feasible to change either the logic behind recent threads (to not look at the "changedDate" field or whatever it's called, but at the createDate of the latest post of the thread), or to create a job that automatically closes threads that are older than e.g. 6 months, with the posibility for mods to leave some of these threads "permanently open"?

Sorry if this is already planned in a near-future update. Was just curious about your stance on this.

Just a quick question. Suppose i want to write an article about a game that isn't in the top, play/knowledge-wise, and i don't care about getting money nor joining the outof.cards content team, is there somewhere i can send it for review?

I'm not talking specifically about zero-day news, but maybe our own gameplay tips/etc. Even taking some opinions from other people and compiling something useful (with proper references links) etc.

Could you provide a link to the leak? Can't find anything but articles on it, and not the whole thing.

What's the new way? :) and please don't say podcasts. Can't understand why people like to hear someone babble about whatever subject when you can read something more comprehensive and actually keep something in your brain.

    Hi,

    1. I sometimes receive a 502 bad gateway error upon opening outof.games. After a refresh it connects properly.

    2. Trying to enter this forum section triggers a cloudflare check. Other forums don't (at least the ones i visit). Is this intended?

    Thanks

You lost to a priest, didn't you? :))

It's ok, team5 have no idea what they are doing. They keep winging it with some adjustments here and there. The game went to shit long ago, simply because it went from a bit chess-like to full arcade mode.

It's like playing Charrua Soccer vs Fifa.

If you don't like what they are doing with it, spend your time somewhere else. It's not gonna change. They unfortunately get too much money out of it now.

Oh yea, that's a definite possibility. Level a char, gear it up, then ensure X other people wipe on some raid boss because of you :))))

Yet, i'd imagine the amount of time put in for this is a good enough deterrent for such behaviour. People get attached to their characters, mostly. Or at least i do, lol.

This mode is like a life lesson that everything eventually dies and you shouldn't get attached to anyone. Sends the wrong idea to younger minds tbh.

Any ideas what prompted blizzard to release this mod? Was it such a popular demand?

I'm not sure anyone's gonna do raids in this :)) they will attempt them, for sure. But 1 wipe and it's back to level one. And levelling takes a good while. People are gonna get fed up eventually.

I don't own nor played on consoles before, but for PC, why the hell should i pay a subscription to play some games instead of simply buying those and having them forever?!

This cloud gaming is such a stupidity (for PC at least) that it makes me cringe. If i don't want to play anything for 2 weeks every month or if i play only a few games, guess what, i'm giving Ubisoft money for almost nothing.

And then the "fear of missing out" trick comes into play - if i invested time and money into the cloud gaming, then i should probably keep doing it because otherwise it was for nothing. And they have everything saved there, and there is no other way to access it too!

These companies push these aggressive strategies just to get people hooked and make them pay for nothing in the long term.

No thanks, i'll stick to buying and actually owning the copies of the games i play. That way i can play even 2 days every month, can stop playing for X months if i want to, and so on. My saves will still be there on my hdd without having to pay to use them.
