I think as a format it shows potential. Give it a four out of ten tacos as-is.

That aside, for people who have not played much of (or any) Warcraft they might have a harder time knowing which characters are Alliance or Horde. The cards themselves really should have a Alliance or Horde emblem where the rarity gem is with their race underneath that. Make the rarity part of the trim of the card it's self is how I would address that issue.

Fun and enjoyment are completely subjective. I won't lie, I am still mildly distressed that it has been demonstrated that the powers that be do not playtest their game. They wait for us Strangers who like and play Wild to break their game and are sluggish if ever to respond.

That said, am I enjoying this meta as of right now? Sure - it isn't Warlockstone, it is nice to have some more variety.

I am partial to Earth Abides (1949) by George R. Stewart. If you like post-apocalyptia and seeing how society functions and starts to re-emerge after all our infrastructures collapse inward upon themselves? You might like this.

I have also slowly been trudging through Metro 2033 (2002, 2005; 2010 US) by one Dmitry Glukhovsky. Slow going because it is a dense read with a lot of moving parts. I wanted to see if it bears has any similarities to the game that bears it's namesake. The short answer is: sortakindamaybe.

No idea on what new mechanics there will be. If I had to guess? A lot of Secret support since literally no secret support cards were printed in UIS and Iksar seems to be rather fond of any and all secrets. Mage, moreso obviously.

That aside, I am putting my money on it being Deadmines themed. The original scraps that would become United in Stormwind were themed out of Westfall, and accordingly Deadmines is the Team Blue dungeon for that level gap to Wailing Caverns.

Beyond that, there is a lot and I mean a lot of tribes to work with in the Deadmines. Van Cleef? Check. Pirates? Check. Murlocs? Check. Mechs? Check. Beasts? Check. Goblins? Check. It really has a lot of room for creative freedom there.

Honestly I think a fair amount of the smaller tools need addressing as well. The early and midgame card draw needs to tank a hit as well as making Tamsin worded to not ignore Fatigue. Warlock bluntly has far too many cycling tools that synergize with this broken quest and in general.

Kobold Librarian needs to cost 2 mana at least - for what it does, it is entirely too powerful a tool at 1 mana. Backfire needs to be upped to 4 mana. Obviously Raise Dead will need to be addressed. Please stop printing cards that cost zero unconditionally, Team 5. It always leads to broken shit.

Far as neutrals...never thought I would say this but Crystallizer may need to tank a hit as well. Maybe down to 3 health and 3 armor? I stand by my assessment that Animated Broomstick should also tank a hit. If you start to make Glare & Flesh Giants the go-to again, then they still have this busted card that allows for far too much reach.

but that is just like, mY oPiNioN, man.

Getting three wins with it back in 2014 so I could get a mount for Warcraft. Then coming back to it once I got bored of Warcraft back in 2016.

Mechanically Fishmen are not in that bad a spot in battlegrounds. I can agree they don't really have much 'WOW' factor like other, newer tribes have. That is an easy enough fix - just give them some new late game minions.

    Quote From dapperdog

Wasnt this entirely because of hubris? I mean, trying to make a game within 3 months, paying 20mil (a very very large sum back then) for the licensing and then massive salaries to the developer. Once that flopped (I mean look at it, its shit so far up the dark end you'd need a astronomer's telescope to view its astounding shittiness) ATARI's fall was only inevitable.

It wasn't controversy or competition that doomed it, far as I know. Nintendo penetrated the western market after its fall.

Sort of. With the success of the 2600 ATARI had gotten lazy and botched the 5200. When the licensing deal with the Nintendo Entertainment System presented by ATARI, they were not bargaining in good faith. They were working on the 7800 behind the curtain and ended up backing the wrong pony. By the time the 7800 was finally ready to go to market, the damage had been done to their reputation that they were very lazy and anti-consumer and there was a new hotness competitor. Which is unfortunate, as the 7800 was a very interesting piece of hardware.

In the words of Warren Buffett: It takes twenty years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.

This reminds me a lot of the video game crash of 1983. ATARI had become large enough that they got lazy and complacent. Because of that they engaged in anti-consumer practices and it ended up biting them in the butt three years later when 'Nintendo Entertainment System' had become a household name.

The point I am driving at is this: Activision-Blizzard and the sort are similar to ATARI was back when in that they have become so large that the only thing that could really destroy them would have to come from within. Well, what do you know? History is repeating its self.

Do I think voting with your wallet is going to hasten their descent? No. If it makes you feel better then by all means, boycott away.

Reminds me of Recruit, oddly enough. Not in a good way either.

You have no idea how glad I am that Odd cannot use this card.

So it's a neutral Hooked Reaver with slightly different tempo value? Okay.

Relevant in Standard. Decent for burst damage in Wild.

More significant than it might seem on first blush. Could easily see this working it's way into ladder in both formats.

Quite conditional. But as time has shown repeatedly, cards printed to cost 0 lead to broken things, so...
