Got a golden Nat Pagle from a pack once and never have dusted him despite being nearly useless. Kinda wish I had a deck to play him in just because. Really don't see him getting any play though.

Took a couple hours, but finally updated for me too. Guess I just hit it at the wrong time. Felt bad because it was the only time I had to play for a while.

Fun. Client requesting update on mobile, but won't download it yet and there's no update listed on the Play Store yet. Wish they'd at least wait until the update could be published on the respective stores. Now I can't play for a while.

Definitely think this is a good nerf. Makes it much easier to deal with without making it unplayable. Really had hoped for this in the first round of nerfs. Glad it did finally come through. Should keep the deck competitive while reducing its power level.

I'm kind of like everyone else. Really don't see the point in this one. Almost every other card hit I can definitely see as being a fair change, but honestly, Galakrond Warlock isn't so powerful that I think this was really needed. Maybe Blizz is seeing some things that I'm not, but we'll have to see how this impacts Warlock's win rate.

Just want to drop a really big "Thank You" to Flux and the entire content team here at Outof.cards. You guys do an amazing job, and have created one of the best communities I've found for Hearthstone and other digital card games. I look forward to seeing the direction you take this site and this community in the future.

Best deck I see in your collection for taking out Quest Priest would probably be the Malygos Quest Druid. Your best bet with that deck is basically to control the board when possible, but try to never leave damaged minions if you can. If you can delay them completing their quest, that'll buy you more time to set up your OTK. Also, don't go face unless you can do a lot of damage at once, and only later in the game. Focus mainly on draw, ramp, and armor gain. If you can hold out until you can complete your OTK, you should be fine.Priest has no Quest Priest runs no armor normally and you can do 44 damage to face from your hand once you get your combo. Only problem is that you're probably gonna be stomped by most of the aggro decks floating around like Face Hunter and Pirate Warrior.

Ok, despite several suggestions to the contrary, I do not hate aggro. It is not my favorite archetype, but I do on occasion play an aggro deck and do enjoy it. My original post wasn't a cry to do away with or nerf aggro into oblivion, I was merely pointing out that the tools that aggro has received over the past couple of expansions seemed to make it possible for an aggro deck to consistently overpower most control decks. I'm well aware that the meta is delicately balanced between the three pillars of aggro, OTK, and control. It is basically a rock/paper/scissors system with RNG and player ability keeping it from being as cut and dried as that. The problem as I was seeing it, was that rock was suddenly beating paper more often than not. That creates an imbalance in the whole system and naturally everyone begins playing the archetype that is experiencing the power boost.

Now, I will be the first to admit that I probably jumped the gun a bit. My attempts at deck building were doubtless poorly refined and the meta had shifted strong aggro to counter Galakrond Shaman. Despite my attempts to fashion a control deck capable of dealing with the sudden burst of aggro and hold its own against Galakrond Shaman, I was failing miserably on both parts. The takeaway being that Shaman was just too powerful at the time and my attempts to run control against it were futile, and trying to split my focus gave me a poorer matchup against aggro. I can see that now that the nerfs have hit and the meta has settled down. I was mostly just frustrated at the time because none of the games I was facing were going in my favor despite my best attempts.

I still think, however, that aggro is a bit too strong. There are several Aggro, Mid-range and Tempo decks being run now, but there is very little in the way of either Control or OTK in the current meta because they lack the tools to hold out against all the  strong board-centric and face decks being run. Sorry for the long post, but my ultimate point is this; true control and OTK decks have largely been pushed out of the meta by the strength of more aggressive decks.

Thanks for the suggestions. When I approached the encounter from a different point of view, it actually turned out to be a lot easier than I thought initially. Sometimes you just have to try something out of the ordinary with these adventures, which makes them a lot more challenging and fun in my opinion.

For anyone else trying these out now, my solutions against The Steel Sentinel was a Mech Hunter utilizing the Missile Launcher, Venomizer, Zilliax combo. Took two tried since he runs enough weapons and battlecries to take it out unless you continually heal or magnetize it.

Rafaam part two was quite difficult, but I did it with the old Mecha'Thun Priest. Took a couple dozen tries, and I had to modify the deck to eliminate most of the 10/10's he summons, but eventually pulled it off and got the sweet new card back.

Never mind. Finally got past him after I went back with a new strategy. Ran a Secret Hunter and got my [Hearthstone Card (Secret Keeper) Not Found] out on turn 1 and just spammed secrets. Worked perfect. Can't believe I didn't try it earlier.

Well, since they decided to make the old adventures available in the in game shop now, I went and bought League of Explorers. Went through on normal difficulty fairly easily. Only really had issues toward the end, and they weren't too hard. Now I'm working on Heroic. This has been a bit of a struggle. I started playing after the Boomsday expansion, so I don't have a lot of wild cards. Mostly just from Ungoro, Frozen Throne, and Kobolds. I'm currently stuck on Skelesaurus Hex. I've tried some of the top meta decks available, including Galakrond Shaman, but the value from his hero power is just too much most of the time. I've got a full collection in the standard format and I'm looking for any advice on how to get past this one. Any help is appreciated.

Just bought League of Explorers expansion and completed normal mode and the class challenges. Thinking I might give Heroic a try to get this card back.

Started the new expansion with my golden Whizbang the Wonderful, but very poor results with a lot of the decks, and frequent beat downs by Shamans pushed me back to my old trusty Control Shaman deck. Figured the meta would shift heavy aggro to counter, so decided to farm the counters. Teched in plenty of different cards to disrupt my opponents' decks. Have a fairly decent win rate, though I occasionally have to change my tech options to account for the decks I'm running across. Galakrond Shaman still beats me more often than not, but it's a lot closer than it was before. Pulled out some good upsets on occasion.

Actually was thinking it could work with Bog Slosher, Baleful Banker, Youthful Brewmaster, and/or Sathrovarr. It wouldn't be as consistent, because you'd have to have a minion on board, or have Shudderwock summon a minion that is then transformed and shuffled into your deck or returned to your hand. Kind of want to try it, but obviously it's inconsistent as hell and would never work on ladder.

I'm actually wondering how long it'll take someone to make this work in an infinite Shudderwock deck again. Surprised Blizzard went and made this mistake again after having to nerf Saronite Chain Gang. Admittedly, it's a bit too slow for the current meta, but things can change with nerfs incoming.

Really seems almost like the devs are more concerned with Battlegrounds now than the problems in the main game. I honestly expected heavier needs to more cards. Frankly, Shaman still has an absolute insane amount of value from a handful of cards. The double Invoke from Corrupt Elementalist should simply have been dropped to a single Invoke. A 3/3 and a 2/1 rush for 5 Mana is plenty fair. Invocation of Frost was one I honestly expected to see hit. One Mana to freeze a minion and generate a 2/1 rush minion is pretty strong. Two of these early is more than enough to trigger Dragon's Pack and provide even more crazy value. Faceless Corruptor while definitely overpowered and still incredibly strong at 4/4 is at least available to all classes, so I hate this card a little less. And Mogu Fleshshaper is still busted. There needs to be a couple more minions on the board, and they get a random 10-drop instead. That really doesn't solve the issue with the card at all, and may potentially make it worse depending on what it evolves into. Hopefully, taken together, there's enough tools in competing decks to slow Shaman down a bit, but I still think we're in for a lot of Shaman everywhere for a while. There's just absolutely too much value in the class right now. Unless they're draw is just garbage they can easily control the board in almost any matchup.

Ok, to preface, I haven't been playing Hearthstone more than about a year. I started shortly after Boomsday released so I'm not familiar with a lot of the older broken and ridiculous decks that have come and gone. That being said, I really feel like the meta over the last several sets has increasingly given Aggro more and more tools whiles starving Control decks for answers to those tools. When I first started, I stuck with the Mage deck after the tutorial. I played other classes, but Mage became my favorite. And of course, Big Spell Mage was a powerful force at that time. It was a fun and interesting deck that I really enjoyed as it challenged me to find answers to my opponents' board state, but also contained enough tools to handle most anything. The two areas it faltered, was of course, OTK's and extremely aggressive decks when you had poor draw.

So I really, really like Control decks. I like to run more than half my deck and hell, I'm all for going to fatigue. I want to spend time playing a game. I want to feel like the moves I make, the timing in which I play my cards is critical to whether I win or lose. Forgetting Shaman for the moment, the last couple of expansions has seemed to give Aggro decks so many tools for summoning wide and/or tall boards that there are almost no control decks that can keep up any more. Hunter in particular has been one of those. The current iteration of Quest Hunter basically punishes any deck that either can't beat them down fast, or clear a board full of small minions ever single turn. Paladin has been that way too. They snowball so fast, that you really have little option in terms of counters if they have a decent draw. Rush Warrior has been crazy with all the  rush minions, and Pirate Warrior looks to be so much worse. Rogue has always excelled at keeping their hand filled, and going face again and again while controlling the board with spells and minion effects. Warlock is the traditional board flood/zoo class, and even they are having a hard time keeping up with all the minion generating and Mana cheating effects given to other classes of late.

I'm just at the point I'm tired of so many of my games being decided by turn four or five. I'm tired of broken decks with little or no interaction. I want to feel like I actually have a chance when I queue up with a slower deck. Maybe I'm just not that good a player, but I'd like to think as much time and money as I've invested into Hearthstone that I'm at least halfway decent.

Anyway, end of rant. What are your thoughts? Does control have any real chance in the current state of the game? Or is Aggro the only real way to go any more? (Shaman not withstanding.)

I've experienced this on so many occasions that I lost count. I'd be playing a deck and keep running into the same class that was punishing me mercilessly, so like a sensible fellow, I'd switch decks. BOOM! Wouldn't see another at all. Like the opponents I was playing disappeared right when I switched to a counter. Don't know what it is, but I seriously don't think Blizzard targets individual players. I'm sure they use your deck as a factor in matchmaking, but how or why is a bit of a mystery.

Full tinfoil hat time though: I have suspected in the past they do this as part of a behavioral engineering algorithm; they simply match a person they know will buy packs against counters until they get frustrated enough to buy more cards in an effort to win again. Probably complete B.S., but sounds like something I'd do if I was in charge. Lol

Sorry, got this mixed up with another article... There's a client update with balance adjustments coming within the next week.

They obviously knew before release, since they've publicly stated many times that it takes at least 2 weeks to push a client side update. That means they've been planning this since before the new expansion went live.
