This is interesting. Could be good if you're going for a 'Big' Deck, get off some cheap large minions. Sadly at 7 mana that is far too late in the game, and resetting your mana back to 0 is rough.
This could backfire badly. Think of Mage and their big spells. Warrior and Priest are also going to be problematic. The only class where I could see this being of benefit is if you're fighting Hunter or Demon hunter which tend to favour cheaper early game cards, but at that point you're waiting until Turn 7 and they likely have a sizeable advantage.
I'm slightly disappointed in the Adventure. Last year there was talks of changing how Adventures were done and we got Galakrond's Awakening which was great. I don't mind spending gold/$ on specific cards. Reverting back to the free ones with a card back seems kinda dull to me. Maybe it's due to COVID-19, but I just wish there was a more robust Adventure here after all their talk of changing how they were being made.
Mogu Cultist had a line, "The Storm Is Coming" which they play heavily into that Raid.
Could be some exciting cards. Especially if they play around with Tortos, Megaera, Durumu the Forgotten. I'd imagine we'd get a card for Lei Shen. I know there's a hero portrait but if Reno can get a hero card, and two cards, I think Lei Shen can get the portrait and hero card!
Also, perhaps the year of the phoenix ties in to the Pandaren Phoenix?
I'm staunchly against paying for hero portraits usually (if there's not a new hero power then it doesn't really affect the game) but damn when they keep it a timed exclusive and I fall for it.
Agreed. I never can tell what Blizzard will give to commemorate events. You expect it would be something cool and exciting but most times it ends up being slightly underwhelming. They've given out free golden legendaries in the past, then others it's two golden rares. It's just so oddly inconsistent. Card packs seemed in line with what they've done in the past that's what's so surprising.
My guess is that there will be a new mechanic where cards will gain particular effects depending on whether you play a League of Evil card or an Explorers League card. Could be an interesting way to craft decks. Also it makes sense with the card backs changing colour. Just a guess, guess we'll know more next weekend.

I always thought a Death Knight class that had a passive hero power that granted Lifesteal to your hero would be amazing.
I used to roll with Pandaria. Mainly because I thought it was cool to showcase how long I've played Hearthstone for.
Candle King and Monster Hunter because you had to beat the adventures.
I was going with Random, but this article convinced me to change to Secret Level. Forgot about that one.
I like this. It's a good way to get some class specific cards. I'd be curious if the chances of a Legendary are higher. Probably not . . .

My guess is that this will be a Throne of Thunder expansion.

Would've been a better deal if yeah legendary was guaranteed, or even if they gave one golden pack.
My guess is that they don't want to devalue Galakrond's Awakening which has some great Mage cards (including that Reno Hero card)
Thinking of the Battlegrounds Meta, Chillmaw would be great. Would synergize well with Baron Rivendare
Watch it's just a bug haha.

I mean not a terrible reward. I'll end up dusting them though.
Would've preferred a hero portrait or a few card packs however.
No confirmation but I saw a stream and it looked like the side quest was to the left of the regular quest.
No, you cannot use in game coin on bundles.
