Bottomfeeder and [Hearthstone Card (K9-otron) Not Found] are glancing at each other through separate windows right now.

    They're flying different classes.

No option to downgrade from Golden to normal cards? I'd rather have the dust :/

Appreciate the credit! I started tinkering with Reno priest for fun, but after stumbling upon your very thorough guide I've been inspired and spent the last few hours experimenting with different builds.

That control paladin deck that buffs their Mr. Smite in hand then OTKs you out of nowhere with a 65 attack charge minion is the greatest bullshit ever. I cannot believe that after everything how charge minions are bad for the game they create a card like mr. smite and then still allow it to exist as the most annoying card in standard. I cannot blame anyone for playing that card, I fully blame the designers and send a big "fuck you" their way.

Pirate warrior doesn't even have a positive winrate at higher levels, and pirate rogue has mostly been irrelevant (talking about standard here).

In wild pirate warrior didn't gain much and rogue is looking competitive, but is mostly overshadowed by all the turn 3/4 otks that go on there.

Which pirate decks are dominating, exactly?

Idc about the winrates if most of what I'm facing is pirate decks, that's enough for me to say that they're dominating the standard meta. I can't even be bothered to climb to "higher levels" (assuming you mean around legend) so the winrate over there is irrelevant to my experience. Also, I highly doubt that the winrate is less than 50% there, unless it is played at a much lower rate than in lower ranks since higher-ranked players seem to avoid aggro decks. Pirate warrior is a fairly consistent and refined deck so it is to be expected that it performs better than unrefined decks I'm trying to have fun with. You can't just talk about winrates when it comes to the laddering experience, the personal experiences can greatly vary and don't try to undermine that with statistics.

Really dislike this new meta. Pirate decks are dominating and feel awful to play against. I've had moderate success with token DH and naga questline hunter but nothing really excites me. I've had some fun trying to build a combo-based S'theno token DH but it's inconsistent and probably worse than a simple token list. Mech decks are super boring. I'm very disappointed in miracle priest's consistency and win conditions. Colossal minions are mostly irrelevant. Dredge is a fun mechanic but most classes can afford to run only 2 dredge cards so it isn't very impactful. Wild is cheesy combo decks where the game is over by turn 3 to 5.

Giving mech mage cards 5 stars was very bold, but I doubt it will turn out to be a meta defining deck.

Also, spellcoiler deserves more than 1 star, it seems like a decent inclusion in quest mage.

I bet the unrevealed warlock legendary does something with the curses, I think the curses will be a set mechanic similar to soul shards

I don’t really get the murloc theme for Warlock..

Trying to revive zoolock with a slightly different spin. I like it just because the archetype could be called "Murlock".

My bad, for some reason I thought the questline said "Deal damage with your spells 2 times", not "Deal damage with 2 spells". I thought Barbed Nets would count as two triggers then. I guess Explosive Trap would then trigger the quest for each enemy hit so it's good it isn't worded that way :D

The important question is - does the questline count it as 2 spells if you damage enemies with it twice?

Also, let's hope there aren't any good odd-costed nagas hunter would want to play otherwise this could easily bring odd hunter back on top in wild.

These colossal cards should take up two deck spaces during deckbuilding to be fair given their power level. At least that's my first impression of these cards, we'll see how they hold up in practice.

So we have one dragon left because the other is 100% going to be onyxia. I dont think its wrathion though, and its a rogue card too.

It looks like a mage card to me, and it also makes the most sense

Excited for Lightmaw Netherdrake in questline priest (I know it's a niche deck). It runs a decent number of holy and shadow spells already, and almost all of its earlier drops discover spells so you should be able to set it up more often than at first glance.

Deep Breath just looks like a worse Fire Sale to me. By the time you need to remove bigger minions you probably won't have as much spells as needed in hand.

Don't stand in the Fire! seems weak compared to volcano, but Full-Blown Evil proved to be quite good and this being 1 mana cheaper is a big deal, even if it isn't as flexible. I'm only not sure if shaman even needs something like this. Might be included in quest versions simply to progress the quest faster.

I hope they buff Magister Dawngrasp into a decent card at least. It's crazy how Dreadlich Tamsin clears the board, draws 3, starts a self-summoning engine and gives you a better hero power for only 6 mana, while you need so much setup for Dawngrasp to achieve much less, like they deliberately made the card awful. If you want to achieve consistency with it, you need to build your deck in a specific way and play all the spells before the hero card, without cheating them out with Iceblood Tower or Clumsy Courier. Even if you manage to setup everything, the best you can do in standard is something like Fire Sale, Arcane Intellect and Ice Barrier, without being allowed to play weaker targeted spells or spell generators like Wand Thief if you're aiming for consistency. Otherwise it's just a random targeting fiesta. There is so much build-around required for Dawngrasp, offering underwhelmingly little to no reward or purpose for trying to do so.

Please don't bring back reborn, it was a pain to play against.

Reborn is just a weaker version of "Deathrattle: Resummon a copy of this minion"

That's like saying it's hard to play around Cairne Bloodhoof.  Except reborn is strictly weaker than that particular effect since the minion only comes back with 1 health.  Reborn was a fantastic mechanic because it allowed the development team to essentially create a deathrattle type minion, with multiple deathrattles without the player being confused.

Take Khartut Defender.  It was an excellent designed card that allowed life gain through two different ways, The deathrattle, and the taunt.  However a card like that is still strong at 5 mana.  By putting it to 6 mana, and giving it reborn,  they were able to balance it's cost effectiveness with it's tempo in the game at turn 6 or higher.

It would have been weird if it said "Deathrattle: Restore 3 health to your hero.  Deathrattle: Resummon this with 1 health".

Reborn triggers after deathrattles meaning the minions are reborn after Defile or similar clears so I wouldn't necessarily call it weaker than deathrattle. I was referring to that aspect of it as annoying, not that it's hard to play around. It was just part of the meta I didn't particularly enjoy, I guess.

Twinspell is already being reused with First Flame the same way echo is being reused with Witch's Brew and Full-Blown Evil, I imagine them continuing this trend. Please don't bring back reborn, it was a pain to play against.
