I tried to somehow put Brann into this deck numerous times but the problem is in tempo loss. Your huge problem is early game, you just can't hold brann in your hand and wait for the best opportunity - Zephrys or new Brann. Meta is just too aggresive to play Reno Hunter like that.
You can still definitely try that, maybe u will be luckier than I am. With this version I'm curently on 62% WR and maybe I will later on try to add him again tho :D
First of all, if any change here will work for you, it's good. It's not completely finished deck yet, even though I feel almost at peek of the performance now, yesterday I went 8-3 from r5 to 4.
To that Shield Slam, I don't know but in my eyes it's not that important of course if it helps you more in matches than Town Crier, again good for you.
For me personally is that draw effect on 1 mana 1/2 just too strong to cut it.
For Brann of course if you dont have Omega Devastator - I would say Omega Devastator is the Reason I don't need Shield slam, it's just extremely good card, I would recommend you to craft it. Yeti with that powerful effect is just awesome. Combination with Zola f.e. while you have Dr.Boom already is just insane.
But as always, hope u will enjoy it and find it succesful:)
So first of all, yeah I will write guide as soon as I can, but nowadays I don't have much time to even be on computer so...:/
But yeah, you catch the strategy correctly, but about C'thun as a Finisher together with your edit - C'thun isn't necessary the finisher, C'thun's Battlecry can be used with Shudderwock again.
Situation which is happening to me all the time is playing Shudderwock on your clear board and u have 100% that u will get it back - Baleful Banker will give him in to your deck, Slasher or Zola will add him to your hand.
Of course if Grumble's Battlecry will bounce them for 1 mana you are good to go, but f.e. if you are playing C'thun before Shudderwock then you most likely want f.e. Slasher's battlecry more than Grumble's - Shudderwock will do 8 dmg (C'thun's Battlecry) instead of 6, it is of course much longer run to go with this one, but that's a way how to play it aswell, and from around 60 games Jepetto didn't hit C'thun even once.
I don't really see a game in which it would hurt you when he will draw C'thun, because of that (Longer) Shudderwock way.
Hope I answered anything, hope u will like it and as I said, I will upload guide with matchups, cards, tech choices and Win Rates as soon as I can:)

Hope it will work for you. I was recently trying adding Dead Man's Hand and it well quite well!
And in few days we will be receiving new cards and seems a lot will change. So stay tuned and hopefully it will just push our Reno Warrior higher:)
Reno Mage, Reno Hunter, Reno Druid, Reno Paladin... This is the day, my wet dream... It's time to EDIT my entire Reno-Deck-Builds!
