I'm really happy with arena set back to standard only, it will be way faster to understand the meta and build consistent decks.
Arena is mainly used by F2P or new players, forcing them to understand a totally different meta to be efficient was kinda unfair imho, even if I understand that old timer player could find fun to play with card they hadn't seen for 3 years.
I've seen this card in action and it's strong. Spell hunter really looks viable and this card does wonder in the archetype. You can use it to clear a board, to finish your opponent (12 face dmg for 10 mana is something...) and you can cast it for 0 with [Hearthstone Card (Kael'thas Sunstrider) Not Found].
I've let a few day pass to be sure, but know I feel 100% certain we got scammed by these changes.
1 - "hard" quest are not hard, since they're mostly about playing, without requiring you to win the game. For instance, if you have "play 3 games with class x, y,z" you just go in unranked with whatever crap deck you make, just play three games and you get 60 gold. Easy money.
2 - "easy" quests are just as time consuming as the hard ones, but they reward 10 gold less (ex : "play 25 minions" or "deal 65 dmg to opponent's hero" will probably take you 3 games
3 - with the new system I got an "easy" quest 4 days in a raw. With the old system I had 90% 60g quests, and the rare moment I had an easy one I would always get a 60 gold one if I re-rolled. With the new system I just get another 50 gold one whenever I could reroll. All in all I just lost 40gold.
CONCLUSION : in the old system we had a guaranteed 60 gold a day, now we have 50 gold at least 50% of the time. we got screwed big time.
It could have been done, in a clever way with good taste and class... But since I have no idea myself about how it could have been done exactly, I certainly won't blame you for not trying.
Dragon hunter is weaker without leeroy and is not really a threat any more to the remaining tier 1 decks. HL hunter seems a way better choice.
Mech pally was more a counter deck, I don't see why it would be played atm, unless I miss something.
Not mentioning that tempo rogue is gone.
To me, at legend, all I see is :
-highlanders decks (warrior and rogues being quite popular)
-quest druids
-new priest stuff that people mostly play from trying new cards.
I like most of these decks, but they were more interesting to play when there was more archetype variety, cause HL mirrors are just a game of draw and control warrior mirrors are a time sink.
So yeah, I played 20+ game at legend since HoF rotation, and I miss the old meta.
Will it have Leeroy's versatility though? As you said it's just for one class and in one archetype, maybe two. Leeroy was in all aggro and tempo decks of most classes. This card alone was not only making the game faster but also was allowing some archetype to simply exists. It was a meta defining card and that's why it got removed in the end.
We will need more than just one demon hunter card to make aggro and tempo decks viable.
Last, Kayn Sunfury is not really a burst card if you don't have the board, it will never be comparable to leeroy->shadowstep->leeroy-> eviscerate ;)
The game without reach is just slow minion vs minion crap. I do hope we'll still have potent burst combo for aggro decks, otherwise I will really miss Leeroy.
Okay, another good board control card, I really hope we'll get some decent replacement for leeroy and the draw cards we lost, or the game might get a tad boring.
Actually that's how I discovered Regis Killbin's stream, his opening was so hilarious, I followed his channel and never regretted it. I agree some other openings were kind of awkward, though. You'd think that in this circumstance the most basic thing from a streamer would be to at least check out how these kind of boxes open before the stream, but apparently it's not. Trump's opening was particularly boring iirc.
After 2 days of very aggro decks (mech pally, face hunters, ...) this last day of ladder was full of druids in ranks 1-3. So I made a deck to specifically beat them and it worked way better than I expected.
I got 12 wins a row to get to legend, knocking down 6 embiggen druids on the way. Si I decided to forget about my statistics course and call it 100% win ;)
I'm not saying I'm a master deck builder (I'm usually pretty bad when I make my own decks) and I suppose many people have similar decks already. But if you like playing rogue and face too many druids, try this version!
I played a lot of ramp druid and rez priest, and they are tier 2 decks and certainly not meta-defining. And the meta atm is ok cause many different decks are actually viable.
Favorite moment of 2019 is that season I really struggled big time, rank 1 four stars on day 3 just to go down back to rank 5 again, into win streaks always followed by loss streak, to finally hit legend in the last hours of the season, best moment in the game for me so far.
What I look forward to in 2020 : dunno, fun decks I suppose, maybe the come back of a strong, fun tier 1 control warlock and also an epic season on the pro scene that was a bit disappointing in 2019 (those master tours in specialist format - omg were they boring)

Because it totally did : the meta is total shit right now, as all aggro decks disappeared.
Rotating to hall of fame 2 weeks before expansion was the worst move every imho.

I wish you were right, but Zetalot's moved to Runeterra, so I don't think he's smurfing on HS atm. I could be wrong though.

Seriously, guys wake up, ramp druid is just played because it's new, people will go back to rogue/warrior/hunt in a matter of hours.

According to Feno, un-realeased cards are also gifted in the arena rewards, and are playable. If this is true, it's worse than laziness...
