An adventure with no new cards is meh.

Hopefully they will release some, I thought the DoD/GA format (midterm mini-expansion) was bound to become staple?

I really liked the way they used a range of strategies to shake up the meta last year. Boomsday buffs, then resurrecting cards from wild followed by a linear adventure. Would be more than happy if they did the same again this year.

Would also love to see another puzzle based adventure, a la the boomsday project. Really enjoyed that concept, and still feel it has loads of potential.

    I couldn't agree more!

I'm also enjoying playing on ladder a lot more. Usually I'd faff about in casual for ages, then spend around 2-5 stressful days making the grind from around r8 to r5. Now that there's a star bonus, losses don't feel as punishing any more - you know that, even if you lose a couple of games in a row, a single win will often make up the lost ground. This means I don't really feel the need to monotonously grind my way up the ladder with the same deck - there's much more freedom to take risks with deck builds as there's less of a punish.  I can't really see myself returning to casual now.

One bamboozle is fine, many recommend it, actually. If you're building a Galakrond deck, I'd suggest your priority order for crafting legendaries is:

    Kronx Dragonhoof

    Heistbaron Togwaggle

    Shadowjeweler Hanar

    Edwin VanCleef

It's an expensive deck but loads of fun. I crafted it last week. No regrets!

I love the fact that the non-dupe rule seems to extend to individual card rewards, and that those cards aren't limited to the classic set, as I'd previously assumed. Those rare card rewards plugged quite a few of the gaps in my year of the dragon sets :)

Yeah if you add up all of it its 12 packs...

I'm afraid they don't 'add up', ie you dont get all the diamond 10 rewards and all the diamond 5 rewards, etc. The most you get is 5 AoO packs, 1 epic and a bunch of rares for hitting legend.

    Insane card.

Yup. Just won me a game in a secret gala mirror. Opponent played tog's treasure that summoned 2 x legendary minions, to summon 2 x Colossus of the Moon. I played a secret and 2 x Blackjack Stunner to send them back to his hand and make them unplayable. Basically worked as a 4 mana plague of death that left me with 2 1:2 minons and a secret. Totally OP

There is little doubt the card is very strong, but your comparison to Plague of Death is misleading. You used each as single target removal not AoE, and rogue has the best single target removal in the game already. That part is crucial: there is a bigger design point at play here with every class getting cards that seem OP compared to what other classes get. Sometimes they actually are OP and need nerfing, but often they are just representations of a class' strengths.

This effect is doubled when there is a condition you have to meet as well, e.g. having a secret in play (especially in a class with very few secrets to choose from), which always entails a more powerful effect. So when you have a conditional battlecry that is also something the class is inherently the best at, it is always going to look crazy strong, but perhaps not actually over powered when everything is taken into consideration.

Yeah, I know. The key word in my post is that it 'worked' as a Plague of Death, ie in that particular instance. I'm not suggesting the card is an aoe every time it's played, rather that, in the situation I described, it cleared the opponent's board without triggering deathrattle / reborn mechanics, and prevented the opponent from being able to replay those cards.

FWIW, I saw your thread when I was lurking on the old site last week and didn't find it offensive. In hindsight, I can see mods possibly issuing a word of warning given how sensitive a term 'racist' is, but an outright ban seems a bit overboard.

Anyway, done now. Welcome to OoC!

    Well played, sir!

I'm a long time dad legender too, who hit full legend this week for the first time with a dirty aggro DH deck. Don't plan on making a habit of it, but ground it out pretty easily given it's such a broken deck and picked up my free classic legendary.

Bagged myself a Natalie Seline - what did you get?

I usually go there when I look at a news post on here and think "what would be the absolute worst take you could have on this"...and Hearthpwn usually delivers.

I go there for the hate. Can't beat hearthpwn for spewing unfettered bile over the most innocent of comments. Reminds me why I closed my account

Same too. My favourite golden card of the last year has been the blinking token from [Hearthstone Card (Henchclan Hogsteed) Not Found]

In the past they've always issued dust at the same time as cards get HoFed, so my money's on the 26th

Thanks for this! I'm pretty sure I've heard talk of yogg hunter in the past as well. Looking forward to messing around with the card.

Tbh I'm not sure if I can see yogg being unnerfed, mind you. I was thinking about it and, given the way that shudderwock, lynessa, tess greymane, etc have been adjusted, it seems that blizzard are aiming for consistency in the idea that all minions with 'do x for every y you have played earlier in the game' will stop casting if they get killed. But I live in hope...

Thanks again, and props for the 'his dark materials' reference. Cracking set of books - I'm currently working my way through the book of dust :)

As a yogg noob (didn't start the game till post WotOG) I'm rather excited by the prospect of him being unnerfed, as I unpacked a golden copy in last week's wild bundle.

Can anyone educate me in the ways of the yogg. What classes / decks did he shine in post-nerf?

Hey all. Anyone else still having connection issues?

I had problems last week when the patch dropped. These seemed to get better last saturday when I reinstalled via the amazon app. Logged in a bunch of times tonight and I'm getting the  'We ran into a network problem as we were loading up your cards...' message. Just tried to reinstall again but it's made no difference. Grr

Any similar stories or suggestions for a fix?

Perhaps then, you should stop basing your life around patch notes then, yes?  24 hours and no fix! OMG Better alert the pentagon that a company didn't fabricate a fix in less than 24 hours!

The only thing that IS a joke is your expectations that companies deploy non-critical fixes in less than 24 hours.  It's very easy to see when people (like you) have no idea how the software industry works, and spend their time complaining about *literally* everything.

Want a positive takeaway?  Try to be grateful a little more.  Be grateful you have internet, heating, a house, a mobile phone to screw around on at work, a job that pays you well, food in your belly.  How about you stop acting like an ungrateful little cretin and you'll find that things like small bugs in video games just don't bother you as much anymore.

Wow, I obviously touched a raw nerve there!

A general principle of commerce is that, when you pay for something, it's expected to do what it's advertised to do. My issue with Blizzard at present is that, with several patches they've released recently, they have made the game unplayable for a significant proportion of their users, meaning that I've lost confidence in their quality assurance process. I also take issue with them releasing a product (mage bundle) then retroactively changing its advertising after people have bought it. As I said above, that's just not honest.

Feel free to reply, or not. If you do though, it would be nice if you were a bit more classy about it. The vitriol and name calling you gave in to in your earlier post doesn't really do much to advance the discussion. It might be worth taking your own advice and not getting so worked up about what is, after all, a pretty trivial matter in the grand scheme of things.

Over 24 hours and still no fix, in fact not even an official acknowledgement that there's any sort of issue. The combination of sloppy testing, combined with the ninja update (effectively lying to your customers) is just one more illustration of how comprehensively blizzard are managing to screw things up.

    What a joke.

It's getting to the stage that, when  a new update is announced, I've stopped getting excited about the prospect of new features, rewards, etc., and am simply resigned to the fact that blizzard are going to screw up the game for the next few days.
