thanks for the well written reply! personally, ive always considered the skill required to pilot a deck to be an important factor in the overall fairness of the deck. for example, id much rather lose to an uninteractive darkglare warlock who i thought put a lot of skill in to be able to beat me than an equally uninteractive odd hunter who might as well have been playing cookie clicker the whole game. overall though, im just glad to hear somebody acknowledge that darkglare warlock has a high skill ceiling.

calling darkglare warlock one of the most unfair decks of all time tells me that the person writing this article hasnt played much darkglare warlock. there are definitely unfair games, but you could say the same thing with plenty of other wild decks (e.g. apm mage, malygos druid, pirate warrior, shadow priest, brainlet hunter etc.) and id argue that darkglare warlock (without the questline; havent crafted the questline yet but have a ton of experience with zoolock/darkglare warlock lists) requires more quick thinking and skill on average to pull off insane plays than any other aggro deck in the format. still, this nerf isnt that bad and im sure darkglare warlock will be just fine, but i think its unfair to the people that have been playing and refining this archetype since dg was released to portray it as just an unfair list when in reality the "unfair" plays often come as a result of a really good execution and experience to be able to balance your health out to discount giants while also trying not to get blown up out of nowhere. other than that, flesh giant now being unplayable in evenlock is cringe

wow thanks blizzard for nerfing combo DH and questline mage, two decks that werent even present in the list of overperforming decks they just released and require more actual skill and execution than nearly any other two decks in the format (referring to the miracle questline variant; the pure spell variant is much easier to get away with). cant wait to play against exclusively questline hunter in both formats now, super fun. does the balance team ever plan on releasing a balance patch that isnt utterly disappointing?

pirate warrior wont even run this prob, too important to play a pirate on 1 for patches to be able to play this

yeah, i can absolutely understand why it needed to be nerfed, i just wish they could've found a better way, like making it cost 1 more every time you play it in one turn. i was really looking forward to brewing with it in the coming expansions

why not? being able to play quickly to execute a combo or tempo off has always been a deciding factor in certain matches, theres no reason why it shouldnt be something worth rewarding. being able to act and think quickly is imperative in a ton of decks, this point makes no sense.

i get that im the minority here but damn man that pen flinger nerf is really upsetting. probably my favorite card they released last year, i really wish they could've found a better way to deal with it. the high apm turns with libram paladin were always my favorite part of the deck, and the recent miracle rogue lists using it have been really fun. every other nerf is fine, but man this one really makes the game a lot less fun for me, and i hope im not entirely alone.

glad blizzard is keeping up with their record of ruining every single deck i enjoy without a second thought. mill kingsbane rogue, turtle mage and now this (among many others). something as simple as quest mage consistently beats tillerlock with barely any changes to its list (out of all my laddering with quest mage i lost to tiller combo maybe once). pain zoolock consistently beats tillerlock (zoolock is my most played deck of all time, tillerlock is nowhere near fast enough). the only major deck that was consistently losing to tiller was highlander priest also known as the best deck in the entire format, so i hope everyone enjoys getting otk'ed because its still gonna happen, you're just gonna have to waste more time before you get there and theres gonna be even more of it because highlander priest is gonna be insane again. what a joke, i wish blizzard would just do the right thing and make a new format they can balance and keep wild wild, but that would take too much effort.

edit: i also want to bring up that this is just another example of the balance team being too afraid of combo decks/any other form of deck they or a vocal part of the community believe to be unfun to play against so much so that it begins to degrade the variety of playstyles and discourages players and deckbuilders from attempting to explore unique new decks/comboes because if their idea becomes decent it could just be nerfed out of the game, even if its nowhere even close to affecting the meta (e.g. turtle mage and mill kingsbane rogue)
