Best guess, Cho breaks the AI of the City in some way by giving it spells it can't/doesn't know how to play.

To be fair, any card that makes the cut in most T1 decks is probably a bad design. Things shouldn't be so powerful as to be ubiquitous. High end neutral legendaries are really risky from a design perspective. Zilliax is pretty close to a problem, so seeing Mr. Snips make it into some but not all is probably a relief.

Fair enough. I suspect most of us will be here when you come back up.

The lower level of toxicity here and relative thoughtfulness of the discourse makes me wonder if more things shouldn't be periodically burned down and rebuilt.

Is this a new tool for Exodia Mage ? its cheaper than Moltan Reflections!

    I like it !

Sorry man, I don't think it works like that. Its not two copies of the minion, it's two random minions of the same cost. Unless I'm missing something it doesn't exodia.

In general, I cautiously like the card. If we have mage decks that want to play a lot of minions, the basic plan of attack large guy into an enemy, killing them and leaving you at low health, then trade this for two new guys is probably good enough to play a copy, combined with the corner case of kill a large taunt and replace it with two large not taunts.

I wonder, will this be able to cast a secret you already have? if so it's much worse. Otherwise it seems okay as random secrets need to be played around much more than secrets you already include in your deck.

Seems unlikely. There have been other random secret effects and they've in general been unable to do that. See the Hunter Rumble Shrine for a recent example.
Though you're right, if it works that way it goes right off the playable list as you can't even count on casting them both back to back.

It seems like the interesting question is how many times do you have to bring this back before it's "good enough."

I think I'm on twice in a normal game, particularly given the extra risk of being silenced since that's a common way to big taunts already.

The idea of going nuts with it (faceless, undatakah, any plan where we plan on bringing 5+ of them back) is less exciting because with that level of commitment we can do bigger/better/kill them now things. So if we're going to play this it feels like a value card that wants to be played in a deck that gets value on the front end of the heal effects which, as a couple people noted, requires more/more rewarding heals than we have now.

I appreciate how restrained they've been about tribe. Each one takes some design space out of every set/environment, so it is really important to keep the volume down to make space for the mechanics and other elements that make each set unique. I do agree with ShadowsOfSense's point about the mechanical identity being the most important factor to a lore race becoming a gameplay tribe, but that's exactly why I don't think undead is likely. There isn't a coherent mechanical identity across the race. If I had to guess as to a next tribe, I would actually go looking for things that don't have much representation in the current card base, to minimize the impact to existing cards. Add to that the requirement that it not overlap too much thematically with current tribes (Spirit vs. Elemental, for example) as well as the above load issue and I actually don't see one coming any time soon.

An interesting extra piece for Rush warrior and also a heck of a divine spirit (or Lady in White) target plus another argument for hand buff effects.

Those don't actually add up to a card that will see much play, but they're interesting corner cases to think about.

Wow. Interesting to see such a high powered priest card early on good at every stage of the game except the corner case where your opponents hand is empty (in which case, great.) Conventional wisdom is that priest takes a while to ramp up after a rotation because of the low power classic cards. This probably isn't enough to shift that on its own, but wow does it help.

I find it helps to read the schemes in a movie villain voice.

"My plan is to summon several small men. They will be.....    Not very useful. Muahahaha."

First, expressing happiness is not useless. Go to town.

Secondly, I would have a hard time not being hyped for standard about a rotation set just because of the rotation component. Haven't really seen enough to have feels about the environment but you're definitely right that the idea of story across expansions is an interesting design change. I don't actually feel that the level of developer care has really waxed and waned over time, just their ability to implement changes and the sophistication of same. I do think they're getting better at it, but it really isn't fair to imply that previous iterations of the team necessarily cared less.

Hard to figure where this fits. Anything aggressive enough to want most of the lackey powers isn't going to want to spend extra mana for this effect, nor are they going to want to leave opposing creatures alive. Anything looking for the self damage effect already has inner rage and this doesn't really justify the extra 1 (really 2) mana. Probably relegated to random wild decks looking to abuse the effect, which is too bad because its really interesting, just not clearly good enough in any standard shell.

That's a fairly big upgrade to boom. Just having this guy in the discovery pool changes the dynamic going long against a lot of decks.
