Hey there. I hadn't seen anything about it, but maybe this is common knowledge - if it isn't, just want to let folks know i was able to purchase/craft that cardback for 600 gold. Glowed blue like a craftable card. I don't usually browse my cardbacks much, so maybe it's been like that awhile and I never noticed or saw it mentioned here. If that's the case, hey, I wasted 30 seconds of your time :)

Turned out to be a strange hybrid thing that incorporated Deck of Lunacy. That one turned out to be my first win of the year :P

Happy New Year everybody! Let's get it started! My first three games played this year were against :

      (1) Questline Warlock  (2) Questline Warrior  (3) Questline Mage

Hahahaha - here's to new beginnings! Cheers!

I wonder how deep the player pool is myself sometimes :) I've mostly stopped now, and that was in large part because when i DID play, i would get matched, over and over, with SI/Nox bots. Not the most fun way to pass the time.

Hi guys - I completed this thing some time ago, and the Illidan Book of Heroes, but I don't seem to have the achievements, though I do have the little crown thing over their heads. Is there a quick way to get the achievement credit, or will i just have to do them again?

My only real wish is that whatever happens with this expansion, it's enough to kill off the popularity of these awful questlines that have just about sucked away my enjoyment of playing, especially the Mage and Warrior variants. I will definitely get Dreadlich Tamsin because I love most warlock shenanigans (outside of The Demon Seed), but really, all of the mercenary Hero cards seem like fun cards to have, and reasonably powerful. I also hope to find a Demon Hunter deck I really enjoy playing, which I've struggled with since the DH was introduced.

I like that winning card - obviously hard removal gets rid of it, but it's a fun design, and the opponent won't always have the answer in hand. . . well, ok, they probably will with my luck, but still :P

How quickly an article can become slightly dated :) I have to commend the Team 5 guys on the mercenaries story though, I kinda love the characters' progression to these Hero Cards, and Tamsin in particular has been a favorite for me since her first card was revealed. And even though I know some of these cards are going to end up over the top and I will come to hate whatever meta they generate (haha), it certainly is making for a fun reveal season. So many cards giving me that initial "Holy shit" reaction, and allowing me to hope for some longer, back and forth type games that I've always enjoyed. Can't wait :)

I really don't think it's possible for me to have fun with these questlines so prominent. I can play some Battlegrounds, but playing the actual game just feels awful most of the time, and I usually end up conceding early on if they play a questline and get off to any kind of decent start. It's juts not fun at all for me, in any way, and I find myself angry at the other player, and at the makers of the game for ruining one of my few hobbies.

It would really be nice if the world had a few less people who take delight in raining all over other people's parades - I'm not overly familiar with the style of game Mercenaries is going to be, but I'm looking forward to playing it, I can't imagine it will be that difficult to pick up. Like FortyDust, my favorite aspect of these kind of games is the fun of unlocking and collecting things, so I just hope the content is deep enough to keep us engaged for the long haul :)

It's fine to be frustrated and annoyed at the game - people just like to put others down, that's all :) And that diversity? it's aggro or combo that's only beatable by aggro. Not really so diverse.

I don't know who Sion is, and don't much care, but the art for these cards is outstanding, I may craft it all just for that :)

In a meta where most of my games are against awful to play against decks, I find it hard to want to be nice to anyone. I think my current attitude toward the game is best described as "hate-playing", where I have no real fun and just grimly try to finish a few quests.

Everything about this sounds like fun to me. It's especially nice for those who don't rank up high month after month - without all those extra bonus stars, it just seems too far to even try, and you'd feel forced into just picking the top netdecks. Now, in theory, if you can play a little, you can pickup a few bonus stars as you go along, push a little higher, feel some incentive to keep it going the next month. Plus, I like to bounce around from deck to deck anyway, so it's right in my wheelhouse :)

I'm not a very social person, myself, but I know a lot of others are, and I always thought they could introduce player profiles into the game, where you could, if you were so inclined, write about a few of your interests, decks you've liked to play, blah blah. You can keep toggle them private and public as you like, just for those who might want to meet people for their friends list in a more discerning way than post match rage adds or sticking your tag on a message board for whomever. You get a friend request, you can check their profile, and go from there.

As for the class bans - I doubt it will work out in a positive way, but I've looooonged for a Mage-less Hearthstone experience since pretty much forever, haha. The class is so stupidly popular sometimes though, I think it would triple my queue times :P

I really wish I could get back all the money I've wasted on this game, and especially this expansion. Thanks Team5, for just straight up killing all of my enjoyment  with your lazy, untested garbage quest. I swear, they must have played one game with it against an aggro hunter that drew the nuts and just decided it was too slow to see play. Sigh,  fuck this shit, man, I need to learn to like a different game.

Is it too early to already want a separate, no-quest ladder? I can't believe how fast I have come to hate this expansion, due to every single game I play involving a quest, and the fact that these quests essentially complete themselves with plain draw RNG. All you do is watch your warrior/hunter/warlock/mage opponent throw their crap down every turn, and hope your bullshit RNG is better than their bullshit RNG, and that's the game. This is, to me, going to be the least interactive, least interesting meta that has ever existed in this game, and I'm already getting sick of it, and I actually feel ashamed when I play that stupid pirate warrior. Please give me hope that the team will step in quickly and make some of these slightly more challenging to complete.

That Warlock quest is pretty gross if they draw the early stuff quickly. Flame Imp, Darkglare, Raise Dead, and that neutral hyena that damages you. . . you just roll thru those steps like it's nothing. Haha, all of these quests seem like they could get kind of annoying, I really hope none of them become too powerful, it will make the ladder awful. I'm already kinda dreading Turn 1 in a lot of games, lol

The final payoff doesn't seem to matter too much but, cost reduction on any cards is generally good, if you time a mini-completion just right you can really take control of the board. I feel like this quest might end up pissing me off when i play against it :P
