Yeah, it's definitely expensive to buy the bundles and all that. I am a season pass player, so I'm spending $10 / month. Everyone is different, but I'm content at this level.
And yes, I'm sure that the publisher is mainly pushing the monetization, and I agree that it could use a lot of tuning.
It was early on that Brode / Second Dinner said that they want players to have different collections. It's a fundamental shift that people need to understand and make peace with. You aren't going to own all the cards! If Regis wants to spend whatever it takes to get every card, then fine. But all I'm saying is that it's possible to be patient and have fun with what you have, without having the mindset that you need every card immediately.
I'm super happy about the Series drops, since I've wanted to try She-Hulk and Absorbing Man, but I'm not spending 3K tokens or a ton of real cash to make it happen. I'm happy to wait for the cards to shift down to a reasonable level (Series 3) so I can snag them. I know I don't represent everyone in feeling this way, but it's just a different card game, and I've personally been making mental adjustments to get used to it.
I totally agree. I'm so disappointed that they monetized a game which you can enjoy and compete at a high level without spending anything. I wish that Second Dinner just had Second Jobs. That way, they could work on this game in their spare time and give us everything for free. Why isn't this possible?
Oh Snap! I just assumed they would be robbed by the other games, but this is amazing! Truly the best mobile game of the year, and such a refreshing experience.
Morph has its place. If people are running big boys due to a certain Featured or Hot Location, it can be a nice highroll card. Also, Mister Negative makes Morph more attractive as well.
Yeah I think just swapping them into a deck for a little while is the way to go. Luckily you only have to get that cheaper intital boost for them, and after that the cost of upgrading is relatively the same across upgrade levels (100 credits per level).
Also remember that even though cards with no special abilities are pretty underwhelming for the first 2 pools, in pool 3 Patriot exists, which gives them some new life.
I like how they are handling the season pass cards. And I saw a post of what next month’s is (I won’t spoil it). It feels like a potentially good card, but not broken enough to make people feel bad about not having it, like Miles Morales.
At first I was stunned to see streamers with 4K+ collection levels, but man, with that 25% card pickup on the reserves, it makes sense. Dang, that's rough.
I mean, I like to let my opponents know what's up. They need to know who they are dealing with, so they have time to run away.
I've seen some of the titles, and they are pretty funny, so I think it's a nice additional cosmetic. As long as it doesn't affect card drop rates like Suchti0352 said.
In my experience, I haven't seen Killmonger show up enough to justify teching against a tech. And you are really only protecting three cards outside of Armor, so I think the game would still be over.
Snacks were created by winning cubes. So you were participating just by playing the game, but I think you also needed to claim multipliers on the event page. Anyway, they could really use a pop-up notification when the events start. Otherwise, you just have to be checking your inbox. And who wants to check an inbox? I do that enough at work.
Exactly. The fact that you can mitigate your losses has such a positive psychological effect. I think that's the real winner over Quicksilver, which I have barely run at all to this point.

Personally, I think they should handle the Featured Location this way too. Just 24 hours at 60%.

I haven't seen that one yet. I do see a lot of people just flooding it with Blue Marvel though. So I teched in Enchantress to be the No Fun Bully.
