And yea, the 300hp bosses thing really killed my enthusiasm for it. The replay value is so low. I played Dalaran Heist for a few months, but this one felt like an unfun chore.
So I was playing it a bunch last week and I wasn't doing that well in ranked, but the list seems really good. Then I saw some top wild player included Neru'bar Weblord which increases battlecry cost by 2 of all minions. It seems like a garbage minion, but I tried it out and you wouldn't believe the amount of games I've won because of it. The last game I played to get into rank 10 floor was against a Corrupt the Waters shaman and I had 2 on the field he couldn't remove. He never played a single battlecry minion. I rarely BM emote, but I just had to.
So, I've updated it to go way more pirate heavy and included the weblords. It can probably be improved somehow, idk. You can even beat secret mage when they don't have the minion that aoe's when you play a secret and you make sure to buff a few minions up enough not to die to flame ward. Lot's of stuff seems beatable.
I actually tried this out. It's was pretty nutty when I got double embiggens in the mulligan. 5/5 patches on turn 2 and they couldn't do a single thing about it. Without that card I ended up conceding quite a bit though. Thanks for the deck.
So I've been playing evolve shaman and odd paladin.
Evolve shaman is surprisingly good. Evolve and devolve are just really broken cards. I don't regret crafting this deck at all. People have slept on Deathseer Thrall for too long!
As for Odd Paladin, I don't see it. Maybe I'm playing poorly in this meta but getting to rank 5 with this deck used to be a breeze. Flame Ward and defile make me not want to play it anymore.
I've played and beaten them all and I still love Monster Hunt the most. The hero powers are actually fun to use and the upgrades are thematic, I just wish they had 5 more classes rather than just the 4 to choose from.
I just fought Tekhan on heroic. I had all of the treasures for every class. Well, I beat him on the first try. He's really not much stronger on heroic. I got him to about 25hp with just Finley using that broken lifesteal weapon and discover hero power, then burst him down 2 turns later with Reno.
Pretty anticlimactic end to everything considering it took me forever to clear the other bosses with Elise. Plus the heroic card back reward is kinda ugly. Oh well.
I'm a hardcore Hearthstone player and I'm glad you are covering other card games. Legends of Runeterra looks interesting to me and I'll probably give it a try at some point. Thank you for your dedication to the genre.
Easily beat the first two wings on heroic with Finley. I took Argent Lance and Discover a minion hero power. The Lance is useless vs the first wings final boss, but it's still a pretty broken interaction overall. Added to that I managed to get the Lucky shovel or whatever it's called in one of those runs for maximum steamrolling. I'm sure there's plenty of decks with better synergy, but I feel like it's an easy top tier selection. I can't wait to try Reno's Sr Tomb Diver when it finally unlocks too.
I bought it, but I am not excited for it. I usually love dungeon runs too. I fully cleared dalaran heist heroic with all classes on all acts, so maybe it's just burnout?
