Love it! Always loved Exodia Paladin and these new variants play very differently from old versions with spare parts or randomly generated 1-mana spells (such as bananas, as in my version - can share it if you allow).
Would you mind sharing some details on how the combo works? I presume using the coins or zero-mana librams is the way to go.
Agreed. MTGA's Historic is so much more expensive than HS's Wild because of various reasons. In HS I play Wild only, but in MTGA... It's Standard once in a while but not being able to keep up.
Totally agre on that... I'm a big fan of HS's Wild mode, playing it (and only it) since Beta. On the other hand, I can't even consider investing in MTGA's Historic because of obvious reasons. So I play some Standard there but not very excited lately... I wish Historic was much more accessible.
Yes, that's definitely true. But the deck worked perfectly without the cat, it has so much sinergy. It was annoying doing (or watching from the other end) the cat-oven trick over and over but it was not unbeatable. Scorpions play a similar role. I think sacrifice deck will still be around..
They didn’t mention WC compensation for those cards. Instead they emphasized how it was just antecipating rotation for them. I think we’re not getting free WCs this time
Kangor is pretty good here (and many control paladins), sinergizing with a lot of heals, which can save you against aggro. That makes him a nice craft for Wild-only players, but a good replacement would be Mistress of Mixtures. Heals, trades and can be recruited by Call to Arms.
Damn, what you say regarding Harold McNeill looks really legit. His site is FREAKY, contains a gallery depicting several pieces of clearly Nazi art, with swastikas, eagles and all other common imagery associated with it. Besides some spooky lovecraftian/demonic/erotic stuff. So sad that such things still linger...
It’s pretty hard to predict how the meta will adapt to this. Agent of Treachery was really too high level power and consistent for standard. Fires was manageable and just a powerful card, spanning multiple archetypes. Jeskai Lukka needed the nerf. Always good to see a meta shake-up anyway. I just feel sorry for paper players, that spend real cash on these cards... gotta feel very bad!
Companions mechanic getting nearly useless was also necessary. Some of them may return as mere (powerful) creatures like Obosh and Lurrus
This is a VERY interesting twist to the archetype. Kudos! By relying on the coins and a 0-mana libram, you don't need Thaurissan. On the other hand you still depend on drawing the extra coins from adventurers and casting both attendants for the 0-libram... Might be too slow against Quest Mage and Mechathun Lock kills you consistently at 8 so.. There's that.
My version might be a little faster but I'll have to test yours to see. I use Call to Arms to thin the deck, bringing loot hoarders, doomsayers, Thalnos, Pyro, Kangor, lots of AoEs for the creature-heavy decks, bananas and a Humiliation for the 1-mana spells and Thaurissan to reduce them to 0. Also a Shirvallah as the nail in the coffin against aggro. In a lucky day I complete the combo at 10. It's really fun but doesn't use any new cards (decklist in my profile)
Do you want to erase Odd DH? Changing Warglaives would be the nail in the coffin. These soft hits to Priestess and Crimson Runner will do fine, you'll see (as Battlefiend, AND Altruis, and...). Odd DH is a fair deck, not busted at all. Like old Odd Rogue.
It's so bad that MTGA is not its own independent thing and is just a reflection of the physical game, because devs can't even think of nerfing problematic cards. Banning cards is a terrible solution but the only one they have, and it's rarely used.
In this sense, HS goes waaay much better, allowing the devs to balance it accordingly.
I count myself among the former, since Exodia Pala and older Mecha'Thun locks are some of my alltime fav decks.

Rakdos Sac isn ‘t going anywhere. Just play Serrated Scorpions instead of the cats. Very similar function and blocks better than cat (without Oven

Let's enjoy Odd DH while it lasts!

Yay! Thanks for featuring the deck Frosty
Boring

Exodia Paladin. Great against control that are slower than you. Decent against aggro. Just very fun.

Beautiful!!

Wild-only player here. Where can I find that buff paladin?

@Fluxflashor, you already know the winner?
EDIT: Are you aware of a bug in the typebox that suppresses the last character? At least in Mobile I noticed tha
