Not much today but I have tried to give some love to decks that will not be powerful anymore when they leave standard: odd secret mage and odd warrior. They did not work out very well for me, though.

I still have most ranked wins as Mage but lately, my tempo paladin seems like the strongest in standard along with evenlock.

First must-craft of the expansion? There will be plenty of ways to get very nice value out of this, in both formats and for a large variety of archetypes! A nice replacement for Zola the Gorgon.

So... some disgusting Prince Keleseth zoo for a quick pack, then?

    Edit: Yup! 2-0!

I love the flavour and hope they work out as a standard replacement for Vilespine Slayer

It seems weak to me, unless there are some crazy deathrattle mechs coming up.

I think it is more balanced than it seems at first glance.

First, you need to be in a pretty good spot to afford playing a vanilla 5-5 on turn 7, especially against aggro and midrange decks. Then, without knowing the excact spell pools, I can see how the choices can completely screw you over or not be helpful, especially in Wild:

    Bloodlust + Volcano...

It seems interresting to play, however, and knowing which spells to go for will take some skill!

Alright, I saw flux as an admin and immediately went "Wait, what". Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I don't have time to be a mod or anything, but I'm decent with webdesign, and (I think) pretty good at hearthstone, so I'm sure those skills might come up somewhere.

Feedback is always welcome, since the site is still in a "beta" state, and many new features will be added in the future.

Personally, I think it would be awesome if you just come here and hang out, comment on stuff and have a good time chatting about the game! We are starting the reveal season and the cards will be here very fast, so there should be no shortage of topics!

This will be an overview of important archetypes throughout the history of hearthstone. Updates are coming!

    Beta:

    Freeze mage

    Frozen giants

    Release:

    Minion based mage

    Secret mage

    Nax

    Deathrattle

    GvG

    Mechmage

    BRM:

    Flamewaker Tempo (machinegun)

    Later:

No-quest Exodia, Quest Exodia, Giant Quest, Mill/Fatigue, Reno, Elemental, Aggro Freeze, Murloc, Odd, Odd Secret, C'thun, , Big Spell, Control

Some are probably missing but I find it interresting that mage has had every archetype represented, from the fastest aggro to grindy control and otk combo decks. The class has historically been weak at proactive midrange and controldecks, partly because the class had been relying on neutral minions from the midgame onwards. More reactive tempo playstyle decks have been viable several times, however, mainly because of strong secrets synergies and flexible burn spells like fireball and frost bolt.

Some archetypes have gone through big changes through expansions and nerfs, this will be explored more!
