I feel like I need to point something out that surprisingly a lot of users here, other forums, and even this article on OoG didn't seem to understand after 28.0 patch notes came out indicating Twist would be deactivated for a few months.  And what I need to point out is, Team5 stated that this would be the case from the very first Twist announcement back in June.  Read through the third paragraph to see where it states that the mode would not always be available.

That same announcement states that it also may not change every single season, so that immediately set the precedent for December with no changes from this season to the next.

But that last part also begs the question... Why can't they just leave certain season sets/rules up an extra month or two without change instead of downtime between seasons?  It does seem strange, but I assume there is some reason on the back end that they may need to occasionally shut down temporarily to try and implement some new, wacky rule or something.

Whatever the reason, I am glad to see they are listening to the players who love this mode and are at least keeping it live during December as well.  I've been having fun with a Jade Elemental Shaman.  I am so happy to have a game mode where I can play Kalimos, Primal Lord in a somewhat competitive deck again!  Back when Un'Goro launched, I still hadn't gotten too into Hearthstone and was playing very casually.  But after popping Kalimos on day 1 of the expansion, I had a blast playing an Elemental Shaman, and I got hooked!

Agreed!  It was fun for a little bit and then got boring because nothing was ever going to change in the mode.  At least Twist will have a rotating card pool when it's live.

Flux's article is a little dramatic.  Pauses in Twist like this were planned from the start.  Pretty sure when it was launching they mentioned how it wouldn't always be live and might go dormant for a month or two at times.

Only 34 of the 147 cards are new, and those are two of the 34 new ones.  Some of the older cards in the set also had a big boost in play, even if only temporarily.  Namely Tiny Knight of Evil.  But they pulled back on part of its buff when they also nerfed Chamber.  Those hurt the deck and it has fallen out of favor since.

Personally, since I already had close to all the reprints in my Wild collection, it was fairly easy to get the new cards with minimal investment of any kind.

Just curious what source you have regarding  “waining support”.  If you’re saying that just due to two months with no season, I’m not sure that’s the same.  We were told from the start that some months the format would be disabled.

The flavor of this card and its effect!  It's subtle but very nice!  It's like a bartender in an old Western film who might pour (or draw) a beer and then slide the glass across the bar to who ordered it.  Robo Bob is doing that, but sliding the Outcast card he draws you to the left side.  I hope there is some kind of fun animation to match this bit of flavor too!

I doubt Brightwing will care since all they want is to be friends with everyone.

I guess the idea here is that Fye is the leader of the Faerie dragons.  So while there are no Aspects that are Faerie dragons, Fye is like "the aspect" of that flight.

I don’t know the last time I saw a Mine Rogue.  I might have faced one last week, but he was dead before he could combo me, so I never saw a Mine hit the board.  I have seen an increase in Waygate Mages though.  I was super annoyed by Vexallis and the never ending Conjure Biscuits this one guy had.  At that point just go play solitaire!

It might be a little hard for them to go too crazy right now since they already have Anomalies live in all formats.  But they could always exclude Twist from stuff like that to implement some wacky rules to the format.  Perhaps future Twist iterations will do just that.

Played a lot of Twist in the first Wonders season, but not as much this season.  To be fair though, I haven’t played a ton of Hearthstone in general this month.

But I think it’s a great mode for Wild players who want to try and play older decks that might not be viable for the power level of Wild, as well as nostalgic older Standard players who haven’t dusted their collections. I couldn’t see Twist being very fun for brand new players or players that dust their Wild cards.  Sure you can buy the busted premade deck if there us one.  But if a premade deck is truly busted, it’ll probably get nerfed.

In the long term, even if the big changes only happen every 3 months with small changes in between, the format should have longer staying power than it’s predecessor of Classic.  My biggest issue with the precedent they set with Caverns of Time is the straight to Wild sets.  I don’t have a problem with the idea of adding support for old archetypes, but rather I have a problem with the potential frequency of these added Wild cards which are essentially mini sets packaged with reprints!

If this is going to become a constant, at least give those of us with fairly complete Wild collections the option to buy only the brand new cards as a mini set package for the same $ or gold as a regular standard mini set.

I never said anything about a conspiracy.  I simply stated fact that they accidentally pushed out packs that were intended to go out during BlizzCon, and then theorized that perhaps the hot fix they pushed to maintain the BlizzCon "surprise" was inadvertently messing with the appearance of the packs from the drops.

Same here.  With the patch that added Showdown pre-orders they accidentally pushed through 3 golden Showdown packs that some people (me) saw pop up.  They took them back in the next hot fix, and there was a note about a "BlizzCon surprise" being given out early.

I'm wondering if their quick fix to hide those packs to try and maintain the surprise for some people is now causing the Badlands packs from drops to not show up.

It's just a bug that they intend to fix.  But yeah, I took advantage of it and finished it all in the first day too.

Feel like that should have happened a while ago, but at least it's FINALLY going to happen.

This list, still good!  In fact, since the last time this brawl came up, Soul of the Forest was buffed from 4 mana to 3.  But you just want to create treants or have a big board you can silence with Wailing Soul, then buff and go face!

Pretty sure people have been crying out about the game dying since Naxx came out and they didn't like Undertaker Hunter.

I think it's more like Microsoft wanted to enforce some restructuring so that the eventual restructure they wanted didn't fall back as Microsoft layoffs.  So if that's the case, this is a good sign that Microsoft wants to ensure the team is successful and profitable, and they only saw fit to eliminate 10 positions to put it in a spot where it can meet their expectations.

I'm personally done spending any money in this game.  The game is made less and less affordable with each change to the game's economy, and then changes to cards you spent 6k tokens on yield no compensation.  This greedy cash grab of a gotch ya game won't get my financial support any longer.

I was in a small stream of my friend’s, someone came in all “I guess it’s time to quit HS” like the whole team got laid off or something.  I thought that sounded crazy given they just made a new mode, maybe brought back some older players, etc.  However, I couldn’t find anything at first. But a restructure before the completed buyout sounded more reasonable.  Might have even gotten Microsoft feedback on cuts to make the transition easier.  Cut them now instead of later when it’ll look like MS layoffs.
