Well I can't wait to see how this one works out. If Paladin gets some way to fish this out of the deck on time, I think it becomes more fearful, but a 4-mana 8/8 at any point of the game is fearful.
Oh dang I hadn't thought of the Khadgar synergy yet. That makes this even scarier. When does mage NOT spend 8 mana on spells???
I think this card is bad....but it could discover another Malygos, Aspect of Magic which is really good. Still, the tempo loss at that point of the game I think makes this unplayable.
I've been playing since GvG and still have never unpacked the original Malygos, so I know I won't unpack this guy, and I know he's going to piss me off a few times in the years to come. This card is the strongest card revealed so far, I believe.
And the versatility here too is crazy. Play on turn one? Control the early game. Play with Dragonbane out? Control the mid-game. I have a feeling this gets nerfed but I hope I'm wrong.
2 mana 3 damage doesn't even need the extra face damage to be good. I think this goes in most Standard Hunter decks, dragon or otherwise.
I am not sold on this because it needs a Hunter Dragon deck to work to be viable. The body is bad, and 3-health poisonous cards are just not hard to remove. Now, if Hunter had some way to give this card Rush, it's a different story.
I got really excited to dust off Halazzi, the Lynx and then I remembered that Desert Spear exists too. This card is going to cause fits. I'm a believer.
I don't love the anti-synergy with Secretkeeper and Zul'jin, and it's slower than Masked Contender, but it's effect is so good that it'll pop up somewhere.
You're probably right.....but.....I have hope. As you mention, the quest is VERY easy to complete, and, assuming it's drawn early, that's a heckuva lot of fuel for the Auctioneer to cycle through to whatever you're hoping for - Mecha'thun being the first thing that comes to mind.
Could work in an extremely face-based hunter with Feign Death/card].
This will be so frustrating to play against when ramped into, and so satisfying to put down on the board when playing with.
This is bonkers. Likely quicker than Jade Blossom - minus the body - and draws closer to removal that can catch me up after the possible loss of tempo.
