An update has gone out to change the experience gains from the Lab of Legends mode which were maybe just a little bit too high - or low depending on when you played. No one reached their vault cap, nope, didn't happen...

Riot's Exis, who is the Gameplay Engineering Lead on the team, and has a hand in Labs, wrote a bit about the changes on Twitter.

  • The previous changes which completely nerfed the XP gain have been partially undone.
  • Your first 18 wins in single-player each day give you 200 XP, plus bonuses.
  • Additional wins give you 50 XP.

These changes make it a bit more fun to participate in the event - see below for the full context. If you're looking for more information on the new lab, you'll want to head on over to our Lab of Legends Guide.

1/ We’re updating the XP rewards for Lab of Legends (I know, again!). Your first 18 wins in single player each day will give you 200 XP, plus your daily win bonuses! Additional wins will give you 50 XP each. More words about why:

2/ On release, Lab of Legends was awarding more XP than intended. We made a necessary adjustment yesterday to bring it in line with other Vs AI modes, but heard from lots of players who felt forced to play PvP to get XP, when all they wanted was to crush Viktor one more time!

3/ We’d like you to feel properly rewarded for playing LoR the way you want, whenever possible. We hope this is a good middle ground vs. being the OPTIMAL way to grind… but still gives you plenty of sweet XP for stacking 4 items on your Lucian and kicking AI butt.
