Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel announced its third ever change to the Forbidden & Limited List. The fix to the meta will go live at the end of August, on the 31st. In addition, a bonus for dismantling cards you can now play less of will last for an entire month, from August 31st up to September 30th.

While threats to the meta like the Adventurer engine and Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer were addressed before they came out, there were still some lasting concerns with particular unfair strategies that were part of the game since release. We can gladly confirm that most of those will be dealt with now.

One thing to consider, in case you don't own some of the cards that are about to be banned: You can craft the cards by the amount of refunds that will be available in hopes for a foil. For example, crafting one copy of True King of Calamities when you don't own any could mean that you gain additional 5 or 20 UR CP if you get lucky and it turns out to be a Glossy or Royal Finish.

Just make sure not to craft more than the Dismantling Bonus amount!

Banned Cards

True King of All Calamities Card Image Imperial Order Card Image Number 75: Bamboozling Gossip Shadow Card Image

Goodbye, floodgates! The troop of True King of All Calamities, Imperial Order, and Vanity's Emptiness have been winning games all on their own thanks to their powerful effects, restricting the opponent's play. Making Number 75 forbidden also means that Number 86: Heroic Champion - Rhongomyniad won't be an insta-win when Summoned with 5 materials.

Limited Cards

Crossout Designator Card Image Prank-Kids Meow-Meow-Mu Card Image Fusion Destiny Card Image

Unexpectedly, this banlist includes hits to generic Spells, such as Crossout Designator reducing the potential of combo decks, while Pot of Prosperity is especially a hit to control-oriented strategies. Prank-Kids on the other hand had their playstarter cut down to 1. It is interesting to see Fusion Destiny go down to 1 copy per deck, when we already saw Destiny HERO - Celestial get banned. We will have to see what that means for the future viability of Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer.

Semi-Limited Cards

Altergeist Multifaker Card Image Skill Drain Card Image Fire Formation - Tenki Card Image

On a positive note, Altergeist and Salamangreat received a boost in power. Though likely not enough to make any impact on the meta, having their core cards no longer limited to 1 is a start. On the other hand we've got small hits to Skill Drain, as well as Tenki, who was mostly popular thanks to the Zoodiac decks that still managed to find play here and there.

Unlimited Cards

To close things out, Night Assailant can no longer be used as infinite discard fodder due to its recent errata
