Wild Hearthstone contains thousands of available cards, and offers a wide variety of possible decks. This incredible diversity is sometimes lost when only looking at the limited options common at the highest ladder ranks. Wildest of Days is a series aiming to highlight a different off-meta deck each time, with an in-depth guide into its strategy and gameplay. The featured decks are being selected on the basis of having interesting synergies and using rarely seen cards. To see past entries in this series with updated card guides, check out the Wild Deck Guide Compendium.

Totem Shaman has received new support with the latest Maw and Disorder Mini-Set: Totemic Evidence. This new card makes Windshear Stormcaller playable! Not great meta wise, but very fun in an off-meta deck like this 40 card Totem Shaman that goes all-in on the synergy. If you like Totems you may very well enjoy this deck. It's less competitive than Even Shaman, but plays with many more Totem cards such as Grand Totem Eys'or and the new Windshear Stormcaller combo that count as Odd.

Now, let's get into a detailed guide on playing the deck. It's going to go through major overarching strategies to keep in mind, how to mulligan, and gameplay tips on key synergies.

Strategies

This is an Aggro deck: you play Totems and try to snowball and win on board.

Aggro - Use your Totems to start fast and win quickly.

Midgame Value - Use cards including Thing from Below, Gigantotem, and The Stonewright to keep applying strong pressure later in the game.

Burst - Windshear Stormcaller can get Al'Akir the Windlord which can be buffed for burst.

In general go aggro but be on the lookout for some fun and powerful midgame and lategame combos.

Gameplay

The key to playing this deck well is to balance tempo with saving cards for more value in combos.

Below are gameplay tips regarding many of the synergies in this deck and how to use them effectively.

Totem Doubling

Do you want more key totems like Grand Totem Eys'or and big ones like Gigantotem? Totemic Reflection and Splitting Axe are the cards for you.

Windshear Stormcaller Package

The 2 main ways you can activate Windshear Stormcaller are Totemic Evidence and Totem Goliath. These 2 cards are also great to combo with The Storm Bringer. In the case of Al'Akir the Windlord, you can use Primal Fusion or Flametongue Totem to buff his Attack.

Bolner and Inara

Most of the deck's gameplay is pretty self explanatory, and the cards just synergize with each other as they are all or mostly about totems. However, Bolner Hammerbeak is special as he can double your card draw and can do a combo with The Stonewright to boost your totem attack for the entire game by 4, 6, or even 8. Inara Stormcrash is great synergy with the Carving Chisel weapon and in general good for pushing damage.

Totem Shaman is a very fun deck now, with some cool combos to offer. If you are fond of the Totem tribe, you may want to give it a try. If you have a question or comment, or are wondering about a card substitution, post below.
